Also, I'm not sure why, but specifically on this forum, this keeps happening. No skin in the wardrobe, but Baker's Kiss skin showing here. shrug

So I tried quests again. What's messing with me now is two main things.

One is when you click the buy from NPC shop icon it takes you to a nice neat page to buy the item, great! It looks like you can buy multiples of the item from this page, but you can't actually choose to buy more than one (except sometimes you can buy more than one but maybe not now and I can't figure out why because it says there's a large number in stock and I'm not at my day, month, lifetime, who the fuck knows how this is counted limit) so why is buying multiples an option? Okay well I did seem to buy one of the item, now I'm popped into the NPC shop the item is from. This is disorienting because I'm questing not trying to restock and it feels like maybe I didn't buy the item and instead I should look through the shop for it.. Can it send me back to the active quest page that shows all the items I need for the quest so I know I completed this step of getting the item and now should get the next item, nope go restock a NPC shop instead. If I want to just do the next damn step in the quest, then I need to hit the back button a bunch. Backward to move forward is not logical. Getting the thing you need and then continuing the quest would give flow to the quest experience.

Second issue is, I really miss always seeing the NPC shop price on the item hover (even if not currently in stock to buy) on the quest item page. Comparing user shop price to NPC shop price is how I decide if I want to buy more of the item to resell. Not having an easy way to compare prices just makes everything inconvenient. Though honestly I'm not sure it matters since the NPC shop seems like a massive pain to try to figure out with these weird new items buying limits.

One more annoyance, at the top of the active quest page, the finish quest button is below and less prominent than the give up quest button. Good design says make the thing you want people to click the obvious thing to click. I can see trying to rush through if they become the only quests (please god no) and easily clicking the wrong button.

[Edit] I'm sorry but every time I do the new quests it's just one big slog and I'm utterly relieved when I can leave that confusing time wasting mess and go do normal Subeta quests. I'm constantly thinking, "just let me buy the damn item", "why do I have to hit back to continue and do I even want to continue", "how the hell am I supposed to know how many of this item I will need for questing in a month" and "did I even make a profit from this!?!?". I was so relieved to be leaving the new quest page my freaking jaw unlocked, that's how good it felt to not do this anymore.

I have tried using the new system by clicking on the NPC shop link which is useful. However, I have a 30 Percent Discount Card and there is no indication that I am getting the discount when I buy from an NPC shop using the Kumos system. I do get the discount when doing the ordinary quests, though.

Hi, I have a question about the new quests! I don't know if is it a bug that's been already reported or an intentional decision, but did you know that after purchasing an item for a quest you can choose "Back to Shop", then filter the shop by rarity and just buy all the more pricier staff (restricted to 1 per type, but, I mean, It's still a lot)? I did it yesterday with Bits and Bytes and today with Minions Market. I am not sure that it's the intended use of the feature.

I've checked a couple of previous pages and realized that it is a feature. TBH, it's gonna hurt the balance A LOT. Also, restocking is fun, it's just a treasure hunt. Just buying things is boring and tedious. Also, good job on the UI of the quests, the new layout is neat! It's just the shops I have issues with.

I had the time of my life, reading ColdDragon's post. Unfortunately I feel a lot like her.

I find it especially tedious to have lost the item hover. Having to click each individual item and on top usually having to scroll down in that box, but definitely move the mouse a long way to be able to see/click whatever info or link I need and do this numerous times back and forth on all the items asked for, is taking ages and a huge step backwards from what we have grown accustomed to.

Also not a fan of the new NPC shop system. Restocking is a fun feature, that gets lost this way apart from the probable threat to economy. Mind you, I did use it for 3 days now - the items I want most are never there, but it's an easy way to get, what I would usually try to (or simultaneouly do) restock.

the discount cards are not implemented yet for these separate Kumos shops.

I agree with the treasure hunt aspect of restocking! I'm not the most hardcore restocker, but part of the fun is learning what items are rarer, and getting excited trying to be the first person to snatch one up when you see it in a shop.

The existing method in use on Kumos right now is much less interesting. The filters are too useful! As has been said above, there's no reason I couldn't just run through all of the shops, check what sells for a high price, buy the daily max, and then that's it, I'm done playing for the day? You don't have to search for it, it takes no effort.

I guess what it comes down to is that Subeta should feel like a game, not a factory. Restock hunting can be frustrating, it can be fun. At the most basic level, it's picking up extra copies of an item you see while questing, to make a profit or fill a collection. At the higher level, it's learning where certain items stock, and trying to catch one on a restock. It's a game! And the system on Kumos just doesn't feel like a game to me yet.

All that said, I mostly enjoyed the questing on mobile today. It's shaping up really well! I would appreciate less vertical scrolling necessary on mobile while going through the flow. There's a lot of NPC dialogue I don't care about seeing compared to the quest rewards or the shop search results. I like how streamlined it can be, though, with much less using the back button than I do on the legacy site.

Thanks. This makes the quests a lot more expensive than they should be for those of us who have discount cards.

In a way, yes. I buy the items from legacy NPC shops (shop & account search on the item click menu takes us to legacy frame)

I buy the items from Kumos shps only, if they don't restock on legacy and are cheaper than usershops

I usually use the legacy shops unless an expensive item is stocked in a Kumos NPC shop and not in the ordinary NPC shops. This works out cheaper than buying from a player shop even without the discount card activated yet.

my report

Aside the treasure hunter mentioned, i do make a living out of items from my shop tho mainly from quests and reestocks when i have the time

I felt like 90% of the times, i buy straight from npc shops, rather then from user shops... which is not good for sp circulation i guess?

  • Cant really point anything from pete, besides tht i hate the fact its 4 freaking items... so i dont do it
  • Did notice less and less sP rewards, even from saggi
  • Didnt notice however changes/bonus given from reputation levels
  • Sometimes after finishin quests, the confettti pops up but the bar remains stuck. i have to click on the quest giver and turn in again for it to register
  • After buying an item, it wont let me buy another of the same item (is it intentional?) -Prices comparison, is neat but!! i often forget which is cheaper, so i have to go back to quest giver page do decide again... idk it doesn't feel good. if the lowest option could appear in the bar, that would be nice (on desktop i just open each item in a new tab)

biting for all strains!

Infinite quest bug is still happening today, seems to change who it happens to with each reset. So far gotten it with Sagittarius today.

EDIT: Maybel's still repeating on final quest as well.

Not quest but still related - NPC shops: some items persistently throw a 404 error upon trying to purchase them.

seems to happen when the item is out of stock, at least on our end (happened a few times and the items were always out of stock, even though the quest giver would show the price)

it's a bit strange though, since we use tabs to hit everything in quick succession, only to be hit by a 404, def throws you for a loop

This happened to me when I tried to buy an item for the Runway Ready quest. When I used the legacy shop search the item was available in the legacy NPC shop and I was able to buy it.

Not necessarily, the one quest item yesterday still had 5 in stock, another item 14, 2, that I stumbled upon, when I looked at the shops for the first time a couple of days ago, have thrown the error ever since, one has 12 in stock, the other (as of today) only 1. With the last single one I might admit it could happen, that someone tried to buy it at the very same time or the zero item count needs a while to update on site. Yet, those items have been sitting in shop for a while with quite a few available and they still give 404.

I hope we'll soon be getting the bug fixed where the item popup is appearing behind the edge of the frame it's in and cutting off the menu. It's so annoying! :(

Also, if we're going to be limited to purchasing one copy per day of certain items from the NPC shops, quests need to stop asking for so many duplicates. I understand there needs to be a purchase limit right now because otherwise the Kumos shops are kinda broken and would flood the economy with rare items or whatever, but it's frustrating to not even be able to buy enough to fulfill the day's quests. Maybe raise it to a limit of three? That should probably cover it.

I agree. Yesterday Saggitarius asked me for a which was 10 million sP in player shops at the time I did the quest. I was able to buy one from the Kumos NPC shop which was nice because I was rewarded with 6,793,104 sP but I didn't want to risk spending 10 million sP for a second quest so I turned it down. The price in player shops is now 2,500,000 sP and it's R83, not R99.

The which is R88 has come down in price in player shops to 250,000 sP but when I did my Saggitarius quest it was 2 million sP. I was able to buy one from the Kumos NPC shop and was awarded 4,593,166 sP.

A long time ago there was an experiment with Saggitarius quests where the more you paid for an item the higher the reward. It was eventually discarded because inflation for a lot of items went through the roof.

I've just stumbled over more items, that throw a 404 upon trying to purchase; stock 3, 5, 8 and 13 pieces. I specifically searched them in the shop and then they are not shown. Malerias Secret Pepper is listed 8 times in the shop with varying amounts from 2 (buyable) to 19 items.

Finally addressing another shortcoming: It's pretty annoying that the click item pop up will always open up downwards and to the right, thus sometimes outside of viewable window. It is not intelligent as the hover, which will always open up in a visible part of the page (up/down/left/right as needed). (I don't know if this is, what Synth meant, if yes even better. I did come here this morning with the intention to finally put this to paper...) Ceterum censeo ;-) hover so much easier and esp. faster than click, click, click :-(

You guys are so lucky to get the good Saggi quests! I'm constantly being fobbed off with the 70k reward quests :-( And no longer selling the high profit stuff, either.
