  • I'm home on my (Windows 10/Firefox) computer now and it's still doing the same thing as on my (Android/Chrome) phone: the popup/dropdown menu when I click the item in the quest bar appears behind the legacy frame so I can't actually access the menu. It wasn't doing this before today for me.

  • I wish I could finish the quest right after buying the last item without having to refresh the page to activate the button. If I buy from legacy shops I have to refresh or navigate to some other Kumos page before the button is available. Why does this have to be like, some sort of...fancy dynamic smart button or whatever, that's sensing what's in my inventory? Can it just always be available like with the old quests, and let me click it at any time, and if I happen to not have all the needed items it can go to an error page for that? Also if I do click it while it's still grayed out, I still get the confetti, it just doesn't actually finish the quest or give rewards. It even gives confetti if I don't have the items yet. That's kinda weird. (I guess this all only applies to the finish button in the quest bar now? But I've grown to kinda like the quest bar and I'd rather use it. I'd also rather it persist on every page if it's going to be a thing, always, including the quest page, because now it throws me off when it goes away.)

Edit: I just realized the search options on the quest page have improved (they now provide a price comparison between shops) so I'm using those instead of the clunky quest bar method I was using before, and it's better. But I'm still ending up in tab hell because opening each item in a new tab is faster than backtracking/reloading the previous page with all these slow frames and extra-padded, unfamiliar layouts jumping around, but I end up hitting the finish button on one of the new shop tabs, then I have to go back and close all the other tabs, and it's just...clunky and messy idk. I don't have this issue with classic quests, my whole process is perfectly streamlined without the complications of quest bars and buttons being in different places depending on which page you're on etc. What I do on a classic quest (and how I'd like new quests to be) is: Start quest > Click shop search button > Buy item > Click back button on mouse > Repeat for each item > Finish quest. It's done in seconds, it's perfect. When I try to do this on Kumos I just feel like I'm constantly stumbling over obstacles and slightly lost all the time.

  • I agree that the Give Up button should be MUCH farther away from the Finish Quest button, please!

the new shop system while doing quests will crush the regular way of buying items from npc shops...now i can search by rarity and buy the limit of all of the items listed in seconds...

i messed around and bought the limits of cheaper items today...i received approximantely 6,000 items in about 1/2 hour...i think that would have taken me over 20 hours buying them with the 5 second wait time between purchases...that is going to flood the user shops making the items drop in price...while not getting raked over the coals buying over inflated items in my opinion is a good thing,,, this will hurt the users from making a little SP in the user shops...

Synth provided a screenshot and probably better, more elaborate wording of what I was trying to describe earlier yesterday. Only that my left hand always stays on the keyboard for backtabbing (or refreshing), because doing it with the mouse is slower and hard on my thumb, lol. I haven't tried restocking from the kumos shops yet, however, if this is, what they are like, I fully agree with wwhhaatt.

My progress bar doesn't work.

I'm not sure why it's not working. I've tried refreshing too

I had a look at the new way of buying items and then went back to the legacy shop search. The legacy shop search method is much better so why can't this method be used for the Kumos quests?

I really adore how the search shop buttons are laid out right now finally I don't have to keep opening and closing tabs every time I need to buy a item! It's all super intuitive, organized and all options are there without it being clustered

Amazing job Mr. Keith

I miss the old bar at the top of the starting page. I liked being able to start buying items right away VS having to scroll down to compare prices, because of how large every element is. It feels less frustrating to quest on current Subeta just for having less clutter.

I liked being able to see the NPC vs user shop comparisons, but it was quicker to buy the first item and gamble on the rest. I want to see the price comparisons in the quest bar too. It doesn't really help to inform me what the NPC shop price is, while still needing me to manually check the user shop prices to compare. If space is a concern, I don't think the additional text next to the icons is needed; just the prices. Also, I hate the addition of the big square NPC icons at the top with the progress bar. The progress bar feels especially redundant when the items already turn green when you buy them.

I agree with everyone else: the Give Up button is too close to the Complete Quest button.

Desktop: Like Synth said, it's faster to do tabs. The experience isn't much different from current Subeta, except the scroll bar with the quest givers at the top doesn't scroll for me. It's just... impossible for my mouse to drag left and right.

Saggi has become rather ungenerous again :-(. Payout 70 k for each quest today. 20 k profit is less than Maleria gives! Disappointing.

If I have an item in my invy already, I cannot click the item anymore to see/use the hover info and buy another one.

Oh I was excited to see a new NPC Quest this morning! Thanks for adding Mauve to the lineup! I noticed the Wiz is asking for items that are only available in shop search, not NPC shops here on Kumos, is that shop not available here yet or something? I've been using the legacy site to get the items because a lot of the time they are in stock in the NPC shop there. Also I agree that having the price for both the user shop and the NPC shop available to compare is best, no matter where it is placed. And will there be an option to see if I have the item in my OWN user shop besides going to the legacy site? I hope so, I prefer to use items from my own shop instead of buying, even if it is cheap. (Most of my shop items are from quest prizes or vending, so free to me anyway! And free is cheaper even than a 500 sP NPC shop item!)

I really like the new quest layout overall! Everything feels much more compact and tidy, but I do have a couple of small things I'd like to mention! The first is the notification icon in the quest bar when you have a item; would it be possible to change the colour so it's more noticable at a glance? I struggle to distinguish between some shades of colour in general, but I found myself accidentally buying 2 of the same item, not noticing I already had it! Even just the circle being a green dot or something similar?

Second, this may just be an annoyance for me, but the start quest page lists the items and the comparison prices (which I love!), however... When the items are moved onto the top quest bar, the're posted in reverse order! This has again tripped me up a few times today as I would buy Item 3 from the quest page, and then automatically go to buy Item 1 on the quest bar... Which was actually Item 3 again, because of the way the items were laid out. I hope that makes sense XD

Fully agree with these points! The price comparison in the quest bar would be really helpful! And although I do appreciate the Give Up button is smaller and above the Complete Quest button... I'd much prefer if they were completely seperate, if only because the Kumos site jumps around sometimes when loading!

However, overall, I am really liking the quests <3 The new NPC quest gave me some very generous rewards too, up there with Saggi :D

Wizard is asking for Spells Galore items on Kumos (which is Maleria's field at Legacy) and your assumption is right, that one isn't an active shop on Kumos yet.

I like the sleek appearance of the new quest system. It's pretty smooth and has nice things like notifying if the item is in your inventory already. Can def see the hard work there!

Little concerned that the way to buy items from NPC shops in multiples will make it harder for newer players to get into different currencies like recycle beast points or fragging. Just from already knowing general rarities (fragging) or being able to snatch up so many of the recycle beast items at once. I'd hate for a new system that makes things easier for older players to put newer ones at a disadvantge.

The progress bar is left over from when you could turn in individual items, i'll update it to include the ones that are in your inventory as well, good catch!

Could you say more? There are limits on the number that you can buy a day (and for the items with high limits, there are likely to be hundreds of them)

I received a scroll from secluded shrine (from Mauve, I think). Are craftable items intentional rewards?

Green Mouse Pad was asked for and shown as buyable in Kumos Shop, but there were none available anymore, I tried and refreshed multiple times, yet the site persisted, it was in the NPC shop - is this a bug or just long delay in registering?

, heads up looks like the Sticker quest can be completed indefinitely today. Not sure if this affects other quests? All other quests properly locked after 3 attempts for me 🤔

While there are limits I can apprecaite sure I can babble more! It's just what I see mind:

Fragging: Higher rarity items tend to earn more crystals and if you know which NPC shops have items of a higher rarity at a lower price you can get a bette return of crystals than just random items thrown in. That might take a learning curve of what has what value. Even with the knowledge of a desired item say a cheap item of the Bake Shop that has high returns that is nicely balanced by the limited number of items at a time and the frequency of restocking/selling out + real world time constraints. A player that knows some safe bet items could just log in once, fill up thier maximum buys and spend less time on the site. It's less interactive and more easy. And the longer term players have that advantage of knowledge of how to get the higher rewards. A newer player? Say about a year in even. May know fragging exists and do so on occasion but not much becasue even with the sytem as it is odds are they'll throw in more common items and get rewarded less in the beginning. So you got hypothetical players around for 5+ years that can spot and easily add to thier currecnies with items of high return that they can mass buy at one go. And on the flip side you have someone who isn't too sure about the different forms of currency and getting random results because of the knoweldge gap and ease of purchase.

Recycle Beast: For individual items to donate (chaper than Smelting but much longer) the price goal seems to be up to 5-6k sP per item. People will buy up items from users early or from NPC shops knowing the process and resell them around that price point which is fair enough. But with mass buying items it can widen the problems of that knowledge divide between newer or more seasoned players. Who will be buying the requested items en mass? It won't be the newer players I'd think. And who would be the ones likely paying more for each item to do things like Major Drills? That I'd bet would be newer players.

I hate to rain on my own parade because man I could see where mass buying would be awesome (books and food for pets for instance oh glory would that be nice)... But I did want to mention my concerns overall in the interest of fairness and welcoming newer players. You're putting in some real hard work on the site with an eye towards the future so yeah babbling about this.

Hope others have views too but that's what i got. Thoughts?

I'm enjoying this new update a lot! I just have a small concern, which has already been mentioned here: the items that are in one order on the starting quest page, but in another on the quest bar. As a result, I've accidentally bought the same item several times. 😅 May I suggest emphasizing the “in inventory” indicator even more to prevent such accident? For example, by putting it in green (for now, it's in one of the website theme's colors)... Are we able to edit this with CustomCSS by the way?

Strange issue with Maybel's quest today: I've had it saying I've had "1 of 3 + 2 quests remaining" for about 5 quests in a row now, and it doesn't seem to be changing at all. Last quest seems to be infinitely repeatable. Can confirm it's still giving rewards, too.

Will check to see if the same issue is occurring with the other questgivers.

EDIT: Doesn't seem to be happening with Pete.

EDIT 2: Also getting a lot of 404 errors when trying to turn in quests. It seems like if you turn in the quest before it fully loads the items it registers as a completion but doesn't take you back to the quest screen and clicking the "complete quest" button causes an error.

Pete is still on infinite quest mode, so I'm just counting out five each refresh.

I really like the current layout! It would be nice if on the scrolling section where you can go from npc to npc, there was some kind of visual indication of which ones you'd already finished for the day so you don't either have to click through them or return to the main quest page.

And I'll throw in another vote for being able to see the shop price comparisons on the quest bar.

In the lovely realm of Elsewhere.
