My house flooded on Monday.

It's been drying out since then. Hoping to at least get on the Xbox today.

Life has been ... hard lately. I've been struggling significantly with my mental health in a way I don't know that I've experienced before. I'm trying so hard to work through it. Thank God my husband will be starting a new, much better job soon which will relieve some of the financial stress and make it easier for me to focus on working with medical teams to address my health. I have my own business and my health has caused me to struggle to continue with it. I have been falling behind when it comes to communications with clients and I am trying to get on top of what is left and then pause. The panic I feel about it is hard to manage. I feel shame for letting people down and feel frustration with myself because I don't know why it's so hard to do basic things. It's all just, a lot. I am afraid I will ruin my business. I feel a lot of pressure. I appreciate that this group is a safe space to share these feelings. It helps to "say" them. My jaw has locked up and it has been very uncomfortable. It locked for four days, unlocked for one, then relocked for two. Thankfully it's locked in the way that I can open it halfway so I can still eat, drink, and talk. Though eating is painful unless the food is thin and soft. I need to make an appointment with someone to help, apparently I have to meet with a TMJ specialist but there aren't many around and to get help quickly I'll likely need to find a surgeon who does emergency cases. My MIL (who has a long history of medical challenges) went in for a fairly simple procedure, but has hit multiple complications. My husband flew up to be with her and his father for the last several days. I wanted badly to go, but could not because our pets and my work. She had a serious reaction to a medication, then had bleeding which ended up causing her heart to stop. She's stable now and we are hopeful that she did not have any brain damage from oxygen loss during the heart arrest. She showed signs when the sedation was wearing off that made the doctor feel pretty good about things so we're holding onto that.

Oh my gosh, cold showers and electrolyte beverages are a saving grace right now for sure! And ice cream never hurts! lol.

mental health is hard. Distance hugs. I had jaw issues and the Tmj specialist sent me to physical therapy which I didn’t know existed for that and actually helped. Things can be weird that way.

Agree with the rest - sending best wishes, distance hugs, and more good vibes. Finally caught some of the little devils again! lol Hope all that tremendous stress will lessen as things sort out into more manageable pieces that you can handle one at a time, and the sooner you can see a specialist for your jaw the better. No one should be in such pain and deal with all that at the same time. <3

We had a nice coiple of days, sadly it started to rain. Good for nature... but why does it needs to be so stuffy..

Thank you all so much for the kind words, warm support, and encouragement. hugs I wasn't able to respond much over the last day or so because I was emotionally burnt out, but read every comment and appreciated each individually <3

My jaw has now been unlocked for two days! Super happy to have the relief. Need to schedule things still but it's so nice to not be so uncomfortable. My MIL passed a few tests and they started removing some tubes and waking her up! We are feeling so encouraged and relieved to have her starting to be more clearly responsive. For a bit we were very afraid she could have had some harm done to her brain due to oxygen deprivation. Thank God it seems not to be the case!

I'm doing some work tomorrow, anxious about it but trying to pump myself up / disassociate my way through.

my other battle tips are pick one pet to make super powerful and do shinwas quests as often as possible.

The smoke is worse again. The whole western US and Canada is on fire. We are not in danger of fire. Just smoke. I took nap today and didn’t intend to.

oh that's good news!

Went to the movies last night, spontaneously with me, myself and i. Saw Twisters, good movie i like dit. It had references to the original movie but still a movie on it's own. Today a lovely sunny day so went and do some geocashing and saw mom riding past me on her bike. I shouted and then we had icecream together.y Such a nice day

Still no Neurgarten...

Unfortunately she struggled overnight and we are now waiting for test results because they are worried she had a stroke. We're so heavy hearted right now.

I liked the original, despite being terrified of tornados. They're in my top 5 fears for sure. My anxiety won't let me go to theaters, so many mass incidents in the US so I'll have to wait until it hits streaming to see the new one. I'm glad you liked it! I won't even watch any of the Twister movies, I would always be so anxious about tornadoes. I have so much anxiety about natural disasters -- I think my husband judges me secretly.

- That's so scary - glad you're okay! The state I live in is not known for having a lot of natural disasters aside from flooding. My husband wants to move eventually but the risk of new weather events makes me a little apprehensive.
