I hear that. I always wish I could go there to recruit xD but of course that'll get you frozen quick. If more people knew how great Subeta was, more people would play, I know it. Too bad we can't fly a banner ad over Neopets, hahaha.

I hear you on the wardrobe too! But there are SOOO many good sP items, I don't really focus on CW anymore. I like to use my sP/CSC to fill out my galleries, anyway. Keep at it! New fun stuff comes out all the time.

I was on neopets at its height as a kid. Then my account was frozen, and I have no idea why, and never got a response from them as to why when I tried to contact support. My older sister had made the account for me and didn't use my real birthday, so that was also an issue. Plus I hated the pet dressup changes, and how much using real money for stuff was pushed. I was a kid, I didn't have money and my parents would never pay for anything for a stupid little online game that could be played for free.

Subeta is infinitely better.

I was on Neo in the same era, yes! It's SO much Neocash now. Almost every new feature that comes out involves Neocash. But the site is so broken, I can't justify spending money on it! It's a shame. I feel like I am watching the site crash and burn.

Here I am on Subeta to buy up the new monthly collection because it's so great xD Thank you, Subeta, for being so great.

I started playing neo again a year or so ago. I originally started around 2005 and played regularly until probably 2008 or so. I've gotten a lot done that I only dreamed of as a kid, but it feels sort of hollow? Being on there has made me really appreciate Subeta. There's just so many features that neo sort of has, but Subeta is doing so much better (I'm looking at you, pet dress up). Also the art and pets here are just... better. Even with my nostalgia goggles on, I prefer Subeta.

My only complaint, and I know Subeta probably doesn't have the funds for this atm, but I'd love to see another big scale plot on here like what neo is doing now (maybe smaller tho, that one is going to drag on lol).

I would LOVE another plot. I can only imagine the resources that go in, yeah. Neo's is really dragging on for me xD Daily tasks are so boring. I've stopped battling entirely and only do the volunteer shifts and collect the little void poofs when I remember to.

Neo got me started on RP which I am forever grateful for (Still going strong with 1 on 1s with a friend I met back on those RP boards)

Neopets was one of the very first websites I used as a child and also where I learnt basic HTML - I have a lot of fond memories. I did have a brief look at it a few weeks ago before coming back here and I have to say, Subeta generally feels a lot more polished and offers more to me as an adult. On top of this, a lot of the aspects which make Neopets nostalgic for me aren't really there any more, not to mention the inflation/economy there is out of control.

Subeta wins hands down for me!

I came back to Subeta for similar reasons you've mentioned.

Fact that Neopets has been stuck in a forever fixing the site phase is beyond embarrassing considering they make loads of moolah off that site.

well said! There's also just soooo many users on there that things like pet naming get silly and it seems borderline impossible for a new person to get started. Meanwhile I've returned to Subeta after over a decade and had to start a new account after my old one was deleted - and feel like I'm already in a better place than I ever got to with my last one, haha.

Its damn near impossible to get a pet name without an absurd amount of numbers or underscores! I managed to actually make one with a really good made up name but it was HARD to find something that wasn't used at all. I feel like you either get extra creative or get dumb with it.

Another thing I can say I REALLY enjoy about subeta though is that I don't have to tread lightly or moderate my speech heavily to avoid accidentally tripping a censor. I know they lightened up on it but their history of just booting people spontaneously for saying words that are innocent but sometimes used as replacements for bad words just causes you to walk on eggshells. I've once had to retype some paragraph 5 times because I had no idea what word I was even using that the censor bot was flagging me for and the whole thing was as PG as you can get anyway as I wouldn't even use bad word adjacent words on there like Heck or Frick or some other dumb swap. We can speak like adults here (within reason) without getting bashed or banned.

Yes! I hang out on the Neoboards regularly and it's so hard. I accidentally said LMAO recently and spent the rest of the day refreshing to make sure I didn't get frozen. So scary. You can also get frozen for unknowingly trading for a pet that has been stolen!

I wish they could just put focus on the site being FUNCTIONAL instead of working on a million things at once to build hype. How do you build hype for a broken site? I know they need money but they do at the very least have advertising and all that as a bare minimum. Not even just for the games but is it really that hard to make the site navigable? heck they could have stuck to the old format and upgraded when the new site was fully ready for launch. (jarring yes but people would adjust and probably not be as mad about brokenness)

Comparing Neo and Subeta those two are like earth and heaven (or however it is said) in terms of functionality and stuff. Whenever I try to do my dailies there on weekends, all the stores are cleared clean. Like what the what are you doing. Why. I hate you. Just let me buy stuff, why is it such a necessity to bring your stupid buying bots on there!? And the snitching things events out of nowhere, the wheel prizes that do biting and cursing my pets. Brutal stuff to say it shortly.

I was an active member on Neo for years, and I can't imagine going back right now. It is kind of sad that they have been "Fixing things" for years now.

It's not getting fixed at all, if anything it has just steadily gotten worse. Unfortunately TNT has never been a group of people who were willing to listen to their userbase. They literally made a flash game in response years ago.

The fact that you have to be concerned about losing an account that is 20 something years old over an acronym is wild to me. I remember you would get banned for saying words like Grape, because it was too close to SA. Ironically....Grape is now used on social media as a replacement. So idk xD

I pretty much love it here, made the move, said my goodbyes and never went back. I don't think I could. The last I played, they were still pushing their board game on there where you played mini games and collected keys. So probably 2009 somewhere in there.

I only ever played neo, and was very active growing up and then played again /a lot/ during covid, but I quit again. And my friend just mentioned subeta and i had never heard of it. Let me tell you the difference between the two is stark. I can't see myself ever wanting to go back to neo ever again. And i've only been playing subeta for two weeks. xD I wish I'd had known about this game a long time ago.
