- Poor kities. I hope the fireworks don't scare them too badly. Here they shoot guns into the air instead of fireworks. Don't see how that's a good thing to do. We stay in on New Year's Eve because of all the drunks and guns being brandished. I don't feel it's safe.
I'm glad you were able to raise so much for the Alpacas. Baked goods are always a good seller when you want to raise money. :D
it's not a fun day for Meez. He is now hiding under bed as 6pm it was legal to set of fireworks... Mooz and Dua are doing better.
Shoot guns.. weird.. better stay inside then. If i did not had to work i would stay inside to, hope i get safe to work..
- Poor Meez I hope the fireworks are away from your house and that he doesn't get so scared.
My feelings exactly. I don't understand this tradition of getting drunk on the New Year and then going out and shooting into the air in celebration. It seems a bit stupid to me.
I hope you get to and from work safely, too. :D
and The idiots around here set off fireworks AND fire guns in the air as if it wasn't one of the stupidest things they could choose to do. And no that isn't confined to the the 4th of July or New Years Eve. Any given Friday or Saturday is open season and occasionally other days of the week tho I think they are altercations. They fire guns in the air like bullets just keep going up into outer space and don't ever come down. So stupid! People get shot that way and might not ever even see the damn fools that did it. Growl My poor cats are scared of all the noise too. I have to say I don't blame them and sometimes we all huddle together. ESP on New Years Eve. Damned imbecilic drunks!
- I understand exactly what you're saying and I hope it goes by quickly for you. My son doesn't like loud noises so we've got a similar problem. Except, I don't think I'll find him huddled under the bed. :P Happy New Year! :D
Happy New Year to you too! We celebrated my son's bday today. It's the 2nd but he was off today and tomorrow. Normally the bday person gets to choose the meal, but today my mother really wanted meatloaf with rice and white gravy and crescent rolls. I've never had that combo before, but it was really good. :)
Happy birthday to your son. :) Meatloaf with rice and brown gravy sound good. My grandmother used to make the rice that way, always with gravy of some sort. I'm glad you had a good time. :D
Hi all, I'd love to join you :) Filling out the questionnaire!
1. Do you prefer to be called by your username or another name? Have you had any other usernames prior to this one?
I'm Dani :) I mean, you can call me Alewiina if you want but Dani is perfectly fine. Nope, I've been Alewiina since the day I signed up almost 17 years ago (holy crap!)
2. What are your interests on Subeta? (Human Avatars/Pets/Battle/Restocking etc. )
Pets, filling my many galleries, sometimes HAs. Trying to get back into the habit of doing quests so I can eventually buy more stuff from my wishlist!
3. How often do you play on site and will you be active within the group?
My play has been sporadic for the last few years but I want to start playing if not daily, then at least several times a week. I am trying to break social media habits and I have always loved this place so I really want to dive back into it, and having a community to share with will definitely make me want to keep coming back! <3
4. Why are you interested in joining Kindred Spirits? Are you currently in any other groups?
No, I'm not in any other groups anymore. I just really want to be part of a community again, especially a kind, inclusive community. It's been a few years since I've been part of a nice online group and I really miss having people to talk to so I'm hoping I'll be a great fit! :) Also my partner is in this group and she loves it so you come with great recommendation!
5. Tell us a bit about you! (This doesn't have to be lengthy or detailed you can save that for your introduction in the group! Think of this as an ice breaker question. )
Hmmm... well, I have a bachelor's degree in biology (with a minor in geology) and am in general obsessed with nature in all aspects, both plants/animals and natural landscapes/geological features/rocks and minerals. I love cats especially, but there are so many animals that I adore. I am hugely into invertebrate paleontology as well, specifcally Cambrian era.
My favourite show is The Good Place, I love reading but unfortunately havent read much in years. I love doing crafty and creative things, like drawing, painting, and needle arts like cross stitch. I also used to write a lot though I've been blocked for the last year or so... really want to get back into it!
There's a million more things but I'll leave it there for now, I tend to ramble when I get nervous ^^; So, yeah. Hope you'll have me :)

🦋
I sense an anomalocaris enthusiast in our midst... :D
Welcome!
Glad you could join us. ❤
(It's me guys; I'm the partner lol)
Hello, I would love to join if that's okay? :)
1. Do you prefer to be called by your username or another name? Have you had any other usernames prior to this one? Online I tend to go by Ruanne, but Ribbonnie is fine too. Ribbonnie is the only username I've ever had on here.
2. What are your interests on Subeta? (Human Avatars/Pets/Battle/Restocking etc. ) A bit of everything really. I created my account nearly 4 years ago and haven't really accessed the site at all since. Now I'm back and trying to figure out what I'm doing. Currently just trying to hoard some SPs so I can buy cute things for my avatar and make my pets smarter.
3. How often do you play on site and will you be active within the group? I'm online most days, but due to timezones and stuff (I'm UK-based) I'll probably be most active on the weekends and the odd evening.
4. Why are you interested in joining Kindred Spirits? Are you currently in any other groups? I'm fairly new the the site and don't know anyone else who plays, so it would be nice to have a little community in which to meet people :) I'm not part of any other groups.
5. Tell us a bit about you! (This doesn't have to be lengthy or detailed you can save that for your introduction in the group! Think of this as an ice breaker question. ) I'm a mum of two, I have a lovely pet cat named Winnie, and my daughter has a pet snail called Michelle. :) I've recently tried my hand at keeping some houseplants alive, and as of today that's going okay... I love to read and write. I have a degree in Creative Writing. My favourite books are Northern Lights, The Thirteen and a Half Lives of Captain Blue Bear, and Lanny.
Hope this is all okay :)
& others Happy new year!! I worked the night shift during new years and i came out of my shifts this morning. Nightshifts where brutal so darn busy, so many calls and hardly any time for ourselfs. Both mornings when i got home i had to eat (so hungry) and take a shower before bed to calm down and relax my body. And tired and relax till friday mornig as i am back to work then.
So a a wee bit of fire works as well the residents did find the call buttons.... But work provided us with snacks and drinks.
Meez is finally relaxing as no more fireworks, we had some firework drama in the country with houses and cars on fire/broken, eye problems, and some losing fingers, etc. Why can't people just be carefull with fireworks... Just like guns with you guys... way to dangerous... jsut stop..
And still rain.. rain.. rain here. Storm Henk (dutch male name) is coming tonight and tomorrow with hard winds and rain... Water levels are still high and some cities it's overflooded.... sheesh..
Welcome! I am Leonie, Dutch, nurse and cat mom to 3 cats (Meez & Mooz; boys, 3 years & Dua; female, 6 months old).
and - Welcome and Happy New Year!
- Sounds like you get a nice little rest after a couple of grueling night shifts. I used to work night shifts and miss it. My unit would always become so quiet at around 11pm and stay that way until about 6. I could kick back and dive into a book. I miss it.
I'm glad Meez is doing better. I don't know what it is with people and their attraction to things that explode in some way. You'd think they would stay away after seeing someone else get hurt but that just seems to make them worse. XD
My New Year's Eve was quiet. None of the usual gunfire, thankfully. Ihope it stays this way.
waves and and all the other lurkers :D
Welcome, welcome!
It's always exciting to have new faces! :)
Happy New Year to you, too! I hope the coming storm isn't too rough and that you get through it safely with no damage to anything. ❤
How are you doing lately? How was your New Year's?
- My New Year was quiet. Stayed at home and watched Murder, She Wrote and ate General Tso's chicken It was nice. :)
What is a "Legacy Shop" and why would I want them to show up at the top of the shop search? It's something obvious, isn't it? I'm going to feel stupid. XD 😂 .
That sounds nice and chill! We had a super chill evening, too. We're getting too old to be out and about partying that late into the night hahaha!
I had a surprisingly mostly quiet New Years. There was still plenty of guns and fireworks going off from the 30th thru last night, but not as many or as often as usual. So I was glad.
Waves I haven't heard of a Legacy Shop but can't wait if it's a new shop! Do you mean Loyalty Shop? That uses points you get from buying csc to buy items in the shop.
- You're a young whipper-snapper compared to me. I'm so old I fart dust. ;) Chill is nice. I just can't deal with crowds and lots of noise. :D
- I'm glad you had a relatively quiet holiday.
Actually, it's something I found in the dDashboard settings. Hold on, let me get the words...
"When completeing quests, the checkboxto complete from legacy shops should be checked." And there is a check box next to it. Mine is checked. What does this do? What do they mean by "Legacy shop"?" I found this at Dashboard --> Preferences. It's about 2/3 down the page. :)
Amen to that! Crowds are the WORST. I hated being in groups before COVID and now, since all the distancing and staying indoors, I just hate crowds even more lol.
Thank you so much :) and I are proud cat parents to Buck, a very dumb but very loving orange (5 years old). And we just lost my older boy, Leo. He was 13, black and white, and the floofiest cat I've ever had. <3
Thank you so much :) Happy new year to you too!
Welcome, I'm new too. How are you liking Subeta so far?
