Oh yes, you love doing the Altador Cup! :) Good luck!
if anyone isn't buying something (which is unlikely as its lots of stuff and random) - can someone grab me the [item2=Turd Ducken] from the token shop to feed Kayano please? I've grabbed a book this morning and didn't see the food til after. I'll reimburse you the tokens! Thanks!
Ah yes, wrist, sorry! I knew it was something arm related?
Sorry, I got that for myself, actually! The only thing I needed, oddly enough.
Today during the food share, we listened to sirens for two hours straight. A local restaurant.. a pillar of the community really, burned down. Fire companies from four different counties came out to help battle it, but it's just completely toast.
They hosted so many fundraisers, and they were always willing to donate a gift card to a basket raffle. It's just devastating for the community, thinking about the family that lost it.
Hey no worries :) I just got it for myself lol since my time was finally up again.
Oh my. How sad :( For the family and the community. Hopefully they've got insurance and will want to rebuild and continue on as they did before.
I think I may start cutting the pill in half and taking half a day for a while, see how that works, Since not taking it ends up achy/hurting, but maybe a smaller dose is better than a full dose? And sort of wean myself off it.... The days I don't take it, I usually end up taking tyelenol for pain anyway :( I don't take advil since I'm not supposed to take it while taking the pain pill, so even if I don't take that pill, I try not to take the advil.
It really is heartbreaking. But oh gosh, there's something heartwarming about it, as well? There's already two fundraisers planned, that I've seen. And three different pizza places each dropped off 15 pizzas, without knowing. And krispy kreme brought 20 dozen donuts, and boxes of coffee. And the beer distributor brought cases of gatorade that they had for mixers, and the gas station brought cases and cases and cases of water, and people driving by on their way home brought cases of water and it just.. it's just enough to make me want to cry, all these places and people who were like "How can I help?".
Iz said the kids at the elementary school were already making 'we're so sorry' and 'we love Gins' and "we support you" cards because word spread so fast. ... and they were watching the fire trucks go rolling by, and the tankers all filling up in front of the school at the creek.
Goodness, everyone wants to get there early, I guess. In and out.. but that's not working too well :P
Today on the calendar just says "ABSOLUTELY NOT" so.. no plans. Except making cookies for the bake sale tomorrow!
It's a tiny bit shorter than I wanted ... But she listened better than the last several times who left it longer than I wanted. Lol it's always close to where I want so I never argue. I'm always afraid if I say I want it a little shorter it'll end up too short If it's a little too short, well it'll grow out sooner!!
Absolutely not sounds good except....I'll end up doing something!! Housework, yardwork, laundry...something!!!
Oh, we DID stuff but, nothing that we HAD to go and do.
The kids went on a long walk, everyone did laundry, the house got swept (by Lily), I made 4 batches of cookies.
But we also did just.. chill, a lot. It was much needed!
I have gotten my hair cut and gone shopping (as I said above), then I went BACK to town because Shane didn't buy a air compressor with an air hose, so when I needed to use the compressor to pump up the lawnmower tire so I could mow the lawn, there wasn't a hose. So I got a hose. Got that fixed. Got the yard wagon put together. Mowed the lawn. ALL of it. Phew. (well, except that patch that is all screwed up by tire ruts and not raked yet) Relaxed inside for a while, then went and got Firehouse for supper. Neighbor brought over some onions and offered me cabbage but we won't eat that. She went to some little shop that lets you get stuff pretty cheap, I see it all the time but I've never stopped because I didn't know how it worked....so she told me. It MIGHT be worth it. She said it was $10 veggie day, so she got all kinds of fruits/veggies for just $10 :o WOW! Like, raspberries, apples, pears, cabbage, onions, carrots, etc. :o Niiiice. I might stop by next time! I just was worried they'd be like "here is a box, this is what you get" and I get home and I don't eat anything in the box. But if you get to PICK what you want.... NICE! Then I just went and cut a bunch of branches off the oak tree so I don't have to duck thru them next time I mow the lawn - its the one back by the dog runner line, so I've been leaving it, but its so far down now... ugh. Not anymore! All trimmed up. I also trimmed around the apple trees. Crap keeps growing around the base of them, even tho I mulched it. Need to again I guess. I'm pretty sure there is also a smaller apple tree growing next to the bigger apple tree and I don't know if I should try to cut/pull it out or what....let it grow, they'll merge maybe? Now I think I might get a shower, and then just chill and read.
Oh and I also emailed on Friday about if I can take Spanish class, I can, so I'll sign up for that for fall semester on Tuesday, and today I emailed about meeting up so I can hopefully get approved for the practicum (and wouldn't it be nice if she was all like oh take the internship, but I doubt that'll happen) lol Although I'm still freaking out on if I'll even be able to go to classes fall semester because I don't know when they'll fix my financial aid situation.
Wow, you got a lot done, Kat!
That place sounds awesome! But I'd be afraid that it'd go bad super fast but totally worth it.. even if you end up freezing it!
Fixed my roses up better. Loads of mulch, maybe the grass won't grow up around them....(almost half a bag per rose). Used a hand rake and smaller (not tiny) shovel to get a bunch of grass roots out of the way and level the area up, cleared all the dirt/roots/grass out of the holes in the bricks. Added a small bit of potting soil out of old pots that the plants died, then added the mulch. Added the second layer of bricks and MORE mulch.
I also found the crack in the foundation. It was hiding behind all the grass....its near the smaller rose.
youll be proud of me, mulching things lol How has your garden come along?
Oooooh, it looks so good Kat!
We went to church, then home and Alex got the new rotor on the van, then we went to the 4H bake sale (We made $404! In 2 hours! I thought maybe we'd make $100!).
And then we went to Sunday Dinner for Akiras birthday party.
and now I'm exhausted :P
Maybe it has to do with Keith being sick? IDK. :( I'm ready, too!
You'd think but who knows what's going on behind the scenes. I'm just trying to be patient.. and hope it doesn't come out with all the graduation crazyness :(
Whooo, nice quiet day!
I think ours is basically the only school that doesn't do the senior walk, Connors did it yesterday.
Tonight Alex and I are going to a concert, and I'm super excited about it! El and I won tickets during her senior skip day haha.
Well news says later this week, so yay!!
Aww for your school not doing the senior walk. It's so sweet. I hope Nathan wants to do it. (If he is a graduate next year) Shane was going to, but fell asleep and missed it (his year it was one of the last days the seniors were at school). Katie's year was covid so they didn't get to, no one was in school, we did a drive around lap to celebrate instead. So it'll only be Nathan who does it, if he does.
Aww. We do this car parade thing? But El wants no part of being driven around slowly through town.. and I'm glad?haha.
Yea the car parade was what Katie did. Because of covid. She loved it. She sat on the roof feet thru the sunroof lol
[edit] 7pm So ok. I dropped Nathan at home, ran to the college. Met with the advisor, talked about class options. We did discover that 2 of the 3 I wanted to take were evening in person classes, (she at first thought they were all 3 in person morning classes)...that still left me with 1 class needed, so I will probably go ahead with the practicum even tho it is not needed simply because it is a class I can do while doing my job. The other two classes are ones that will transfer and count for a class at the other college. I have been so wishy-washy with what classes I wanted to try and take, but finally got it settled due to finally knowing what people to talk to and finding the stupid papers from Mercer again so I could see what classes I NEEDED :P Now just to wait for financial aid to be fixed. So I spoke to them today too, to see when they'd be working on it, because my biggest fear was buying the online book for 12m and then not being able to use it nor get my $ back ... So I was asking about how to fix the income (ours vs mine) and if it would be able to be done or not (which I was pretty sure it was based on what they said last fall)....so then they said I needed to get my W2, our tax return, and "proof" of separation. So I asked, what type of proof? Drivers license with different address, rental lease documents, utilities bill. Ok. So I have to ask Ryan for that. He being a smart ass is all "yea I'll see if I can do that". Anyway. She said that most likely I'll get enough financial aid fall semester to cover my classes and then some, once the documents were filed and all. And since I'd explained all my situation to her and why I was concerned and all (the 12m book, the amount I'd have to pay for it, etc- she'd asked if my "family contribution would likely be 0?" And I'd said probably, since my personal income was "this low".... she excused herself for a moment.... and when she came back GUYS! WOW!!! This kind lady got me special needs aid!!! :o She got me $500 bookstore credit!! So I can go get my books tomorrow (I was going to go get them today but she told me to come back tomorrow!!) FOR FREE! I can get the 12m Cengage, and the $160 ($120 used) public speaking book, and whatever else I might need. PLUS she said (before she'd even given me the book store credit) that if my income was what I said and my documents were all accepted, I'd likely get the full Pell and it would pay my tuition for all 4 classes fall semester AND pay for my books AND I'd get money refunded to me!! I was like HUH? I didn't know PELL just up and gave me the extra money... I mean, I knew I got some $ from the college due to like covid funds, but I didn't know PELL did that too!! :o I've always had to pay a small amount of tuition and pay for my books...so I didn't know about extra Pell funds. (I did wonder if they did, since they kept sending out refund informational letters, but I didn't KNOW)
Oh my gosh Kat, that's incredible! I probably would have cried, tbh haha.
Also. OH MY GOSH. The concert was amazing. It's the kind where everyone on the stage kind of takes turns, they sit and tell stories, etc, an they were just joking around with each other.
Brett Young was super sick and couldn't really sing, he came out and did one song.. and everyone sang with him by request :P
It was just super high energy, super fun, and I'm SO GLAD I got to go! Anddddd Craig Morgan did one of my favorite songs :P
AND they raised almost $8k, then Jellyroll was like "might as well make it an even $10k" and then Craig Morgan was like "Might as well make it an even $15!" and like.. AHHHHHH.
