: Are you going to replace the manifold with a used part, new one, or are you going to try to fix it? When I helped my Author replace the engine, the exhaust manifolds were stamped steel. The intake manifold was plastic. He had to replace all manifolds and he found them in a wrecking yard for cheep.

Mine going to have it repaired, the suggestion was to remove it to ease the welding. A used part is not an option, since the catalytic converter is integrated. No junkyard sells them.

A new component is last resort, if a repair is not possible.

Mine car's exhaust manifold is heavy guage tubing, and a the few mounting parts welded together. Mine certain the installation will take longer than the removal. Not included a replacement of the studs that attach this to the exhaust pipes.

Feel free to add one as warranted, mine won't complain.

: Wow, automobiles are sure complicated. I would never own one. I have a micro-ultralight flyer. It has a brushless motor, a wire, a light, a switch, a lightweight battery and a folding solar panel. (takes all day to charge though) I can fix the wire if it gets loose, which happens more often then I like. I can grease the motor. But that's about it. I'm the best screw and nut holder in the village though. Lizzi is the mechanic. She could fix anything. You would love Lizzi. She could fix your manifold on an anvil with hammer and tongs. (she's that good!)

The exhaust manifold is repaired, but before mine can reinstall it the old mounting studs need to be replaced. Sho, now mine will have to go thru the frustration of slowly working the out. Heat and lubricant are the best options for this, vibration may damage the catalytic converter.

The cost was less than anticipated, a mere 10% of what a full replacement would be.

But also today is not a good day to reinstall anyway. High winds are blowing dust out here. Zo mine can focus of the previous issue, slowy.
