My first job was working at our family business.. we got an apron. Other than that we used our own clothes. Some uniforms does feel nasty or you just feel that you look bad in them. Some are not so bad. Working in a stockroom I would def. be wearing as comfortable clothes I could get away with without looking a total mess. 👼 Having clear rules about dress code can be good, as long as they are not too rigid or unreasonable.

yeah, the one in my first job (working on the tills at a small supermarket) was like a polyester overall dress thing - it was massive, got horribly sweaty in the heat, was really itchy, and we had to wear tights with it (who on earth designed that rubbish?!). There was also a polyester sleeveless jacket for the winter, or if you were working on the frozen food section. Not long after I left, they changed the uniform to a polo shirt and trousers :P

Well working in the stockroom was a pretty dirty job anyway (the massive bags with the bagged bedding inside (literally a massive plastic cover around twenty individually bagged pillows) were so mucky that my hands were jet black by my tea break), so I probably looked a complete mess most of the day! laughs They introduced a company-branded polo shirt after a while, but they only came in blokes' sizes so even the small was massive on me :K

well you pulled it off nicely:). Lol Sorns happy xd. Well some days the pain had been so bad that its been hard to find a comfortable position

Hehe. I was so happy at one of my job (supermarket) where they changed from a horrible shirt that you had to iron and a scarf like thingy to more of a sweatshirt thing. So much easier and comfortable. And looked better too in my opinion. And yes, those summer shifts were no fun! Weird they would only have polos for men? Maybe there was not many gals working at the stock room then?

Ewww I hate the uniform shirts that need ironing! But anything like a sweatshirt is loads more comfortable to wear and move around in ;) There were two shops in town (one sold clothing, the one I was in specialised in homeware), and across both stockrooms I was the only gal :P We had a different delivery driver one morning, and me and the stockroom bloke were waiting to bring in the cages (basically a large high metal cage on wheels which never turned the way you wanted them to). The driver gave a heavy cage (full of coca-cola bottles) to the bloke and said he'd look for a lighter weight one for me. The stockroom bloke couldn't even get that cage to move(!) so I came along and did it for him, and the driver looked rather embarrassed as he went to look for an easier cage for the stockroom bloke instead 😇

I ended up playing some more last night when I couldn't sleep. I managed to figure out the raft.. Let me know if you want help. Don't want to post any spoilers in case you don't want them. xD Not sure about surviving winter yet, but I reckon it is the same thing as in Breath of the wild.

I would often just end up trying to get out as many wrinkles as possible before hanging the shirt up to dry instead of ironing some days. I really hate ironing. lol

That is pretty awesome. You must be strong! I would have felt pretty smug if I were you. ;) I bet you didn't need the gym after a shift like that.

My wardrobe is so untidy that if I iron any shirts before putting them away, they just get really creased in there 😊 .... one day I'll be brave and actually try sorting out everything I've got stashed in the bottom of the wardrobe!

You definitely didn't need to go to a gym! Oddly enough, I'd never really done much stuff gym-wise at school before I worked there - the most I'd done was Scottish dancing (until I was about 15), so I never quite managed to work out how I seemed strong enough to shift those cages!!

Same with my closet.. stuff is crammed in there and would just get wrinkly all over again. I avoid buying clothes that require ironing like the plague. Sorting through clothes is such a pain. I don't blame you.

It at least came in handy for that job. ;) I am not sure I would be able to do that job for a whole shift. I don't love working out, but I prefer weight training over endurance any day.

That's true ;) Thankfully once the morning delivery was in, there weren't any more to move about, so it was just opening every box and putting it all in the right place in the stockroom for the rest of the day.... unless it was August onwards when we'd get more deliveries with Christmas stuff arriving (and had to redo where everything was in the stockroom to make it all fit in!)
