That is a good deal. :) What colour/style did you get? I have a black pair and a sparkly pink one. lol
I guess that makes sense? I think windows 11 might have taken a bit of time to get used to if they moved those things around. I think I am even more happy staying with windows 10. To microsofts credit, upgrading was free. Doesn't get much better than that. But I suspect when I have to buy a new laptop, it will end up having windows 11 already installed.

Thanks :) Niamh wanted a zombie / steamworks look for some reason :P I love the vampire cow / zombie invasion look today! ;)
That's definitely a better colourscheme :P I've got a pair of skechers that's black with a kind of multi-coloured tie-dye effect on the sides (think they're called something like summer fiesta) ;)
yeah that was one reason why I'm not keen to change over unless I have to! Ironically, Mum's old computer could've been upgraded to windows 11, but it took so long to load and kept crashing just on windows 10, so I decided to not risk it! And yeah every new laptop / computer comes with win 11 now I think (certainly Mum's did - there wasn't a choice to go with win 10)

I would not risk upgrading it either if it is already a mess! Computers that keeps crashing is so frustrating. And difficult to know why, as there could be a number of reasons. I hope it will be a while until I need a new one. Even though I am drooling a bit over the macbooks. 👼 Way too pricey tho.

I wish I'd just sent it back for repair while it was under warranty when it first claimed there was no C drive (I just thought Mum had done something weird to it!), but that was going to be more hassle than I could handle at the time, as it'd have meant boxing it back up and getting it back to Dell for them to resolve!
Before I got this computer, I was drooling over the iMac ones.... but there's no way I could justify that ridiculous price (even if I could afford it!), when I could get a higher spec for less money with a different brand (albeit with Windows :P)

THe last pair is close but instead of hot pink, they are teal :D
Super long day today. I cleaned my 45 gallon tank by drainning it half way--and it needs more apparently. So I'll do that tomorrow. My last fish died a week or so ago and I wanna get some fish. I also went to petsmart to test the water and replace a couple of bad fake plants--and the post office and gamestop and ups store for amazon return--I'm beat -falls over. Hope your days were pleasant
I love your new shoes! I wanted some blue/teal ones, but the pink ones were the only pair they had left in the store that had a closing sale. What kind of fish did you get for you tank? :) Plus, not long until Hogwarts Legacy drops. :O
No C drive? How does that even happen? Does not sound like it would be an easy fix. Maybe restore windows from scratch or something. But who knows if that would fix it.
The iMac looks awesome! I would be drooling too if I had room for one. I heard that people keep their iMacs/Macbooks for a long time without too many issues. So maybe in that sense it be worth it. Or maybe I am just trying to justify buying one eventually. 👼

whoa those almost look like they'd glow in the dark! The purple ones look particularly neat :D I had some other branded trainers with a mesh section above the toes, and always ended up with my big toe rubbing a hole in the mesh :K so I try to stick with one that don't have what looks like a flimsy fabric on that part now :P
^ that's the ones I've got
Aww on the fish dying, but hopefully getting the tank set up for some new fish won't be too complicated to achieve! ;)
I finally got started on a sewing project.... well, I've got the pattern printed off and the fabric cut out. I'm not 100% certain the zips I have are the right length (it's a bag with three zipped pockets and a zip across the top, but the pattern gives lengths that are stupidly long with the idea you then cut the zip to size afterwards o.O) but so far it looks like they line up on the pattern pieces, so I'm hoping they work.
Oddly enough, when the computer was restarted, it seemed to be fine o.O but then after it was out of warranty it started getting a corrupt section on the C drive and randomly deleting emails and things o.O In the end, even just to clear all the files from the computer I had to reinstall windows again, as it crashed part way through deleting everything :K
Knowing me though, I'd run out of storage space on the hard drive before the computer was really needing replacing 😊

This is my newly finished wilderness sweater. :) Super warm since it is made from pure Icelandic wool Warm enough to use instead of a jacket when it is cold!

@ Paddy I like the style on your shoes as well. :D
Sounds like a computer nightmare. This is why I have everything backed up in the cloud. I wish my mum had used her warranty when we noticed the screen flickering as soon as we brought it home and turned it on. :P But sometimes they wont listen. :P That is my problem. I installed the sims, and all of a sudden I didn't have much space left at all. :)
@ Raven See pic above. :D

😮 whoa that looks amazing!! I can see how that pattern & those paw prints across the top were so challenging to knit!
You'd think with all the advances in technology, that they'd manage to make a computer game that doesn't take up so much space now! :P

Thankies! :D I id struggle with getting the tension right on those pawprints and other patterns. o-o The parts with one colour I could do quick with such thick wool.
The advances in tech also means more advanced graphics. :) Big titles are huge! Then again, games look amazing now!

I'm not surprised the tension was a challenge across those sections! And it's not like it's just a blanket square where you can make a slightly thicker border to make it all line up right in the end! ;)
That's very true - so how come computers & laptops in particular have such small storage space?!

hey I'd get pink too if they were on a closing sale lol. None yet. The tank apparently has too many nitrates in it and I've got more water changes to do before I can get more. I also had to throw away a lot of plants and decorations and they were crumbling in the tank so yeah... kinda an epic problem.
OOh congrats on the sweater! I bet it feels real good to finish it!
haha that's what my parents say :P Ooh I love the ones you've posted. Super cute.
It is more complicated. I have to do more water changes AS well as take out and replace all plants and decore that aren't in good shape. Seems for some reason my shipwreck cracked when I was taking it out to rinse off and several of the plastic plants are crumbling. I'm not putting in my remaining plants and replacement items until after I make sure the tank is back to hospitable for the little swimmers. Hopefully I can get it sorted soon.
Did you sort out the zips?
I love the longer zips and cutting them sorter :D
That is sounding quite challenging then! I'm surprised the fake plants are falling apart, but it's better to get that sorted before trying to add in more fish, as I can't imagine that cracked shipwrecks and disintegrating plants will be any benefit to them!
I did - the pattern said you need two 7 inch zips and a 10 inch for the pockets, and a 15 inch for the top.... I've actually used a 4 inch (admittedly about half an inch shorter than the pattern piece needed, but it works), a 5 inch (perfect fit), and I think it was an 8 inch zip for the inside pocket (I just made the opening smaller for that one, so it fitted the zip!). I've not got as far as the top zip yet, as that one has zip tabs sewn to it.... which will be interesting to achieve, as mine is a 14 inch opening zip so there's not the same kind of zip tape on the bottom edge :P
I hate cutting zips to size, but that might also be because the longer zips tend to cost more, so it's more sense for me to buy one that's the right size for my project!

My pink Skechers are also sparkly, so they should be fun to wear this spring. lol I am sorry you had to throw away so much of the plants and decorations. Those must get a bit expensive to replace.
It sure did. lol I am going to work on a crochet shawl next to get a break from knitting. lol Plus, I have my diamond paintings of course. Working on the last one I got from you.
Any mistakes on those pawprints would be very noticeable since they are so large. I did fell in love with the sweater as soon as i saw and knew I needed one.
I know! I find it cheaper to buy gaming consoles instead. Plus, there are many games for consoles that you just can't get on a pc, that I want to play. ;)

I think you did amazingly to get those pawprints (and the other pattern elements)!
I tended to stick to the pc for gaming, but I did get a Switch console a year or two ago, so I could try playing some different games ;)

Thankies. :D I do want to get good at fair isle knitting as the sweaters I like the most all have colourchanges. ;)
I love my switch. :D There are so many games for it. It all depends on what type of game you are after? :)

Colour changes do tend to liven up what could be quite a boring looking jumper (and potentially it makes the jumper a more interesting make as well), although I think I'd just be too scared of messing it up! :P
I went with some of the sports games... mainly because I've got the Wii Fit, and wanted some new games (and of course they don't make them for the Wii any more), so I figured some 'active' games might be the thing for me ;)

No one I spoke with knew why the plants went wonky but even move disturbing was the horrible smell of my large fake driftwood when I got it out to rinse off today. It smelt rancid. So gross. I did some searching and from what I was thinking and others on the forums have mentioned, it would appear that without the proper water flow in the small hollow sections, the water likely became stagnant. There were large enough holes for a fish to get in so if it died in there that could further make my tank wonky. I'm guessing that the nitrates are bad because of these factors and in addition to the neglect it received during my foot healing. I'm thinking perhaps the conditions caused the breaking down of the plants or the plants added to the condition? But I've decided to throw away ALL decorations and plants from the tank and start over with new ones. It's an expense that I didn't wish to incur but honestly I can't think what else to do. And this way, I'll know that it isn't anything in my tank that can make the conditions worse. I'm waiting to put the décor back in until after I can get the nitrates under control. This will mean I only have to hoover the gravel and do water changes--no worrying about the plants. I'm hoping Monday I can get it tested and we'll see where I am at.
Glad all the zips worked out. LOL here the price is the same for the long zips and the short ones, which is partly why I typically go long lol.
ooh sparkles are fun too :D THanks. Read Paddy's message, wound up throwing more away today. But Id rather not have to keep doing this. And yes, it's very expensive. I've spent over $75 and I dread to know how much more I'll need to spend o.0
Oh any idea on what project yet for crocheting yet? yay diamond dots :D
I am sorry you had to throw away more and that it is getting so expensive. :( I think I would be tempted to throw the tank out the window at that point with my patience. lol
I plan on starting crocheting a shawl next. I have some really pretty yarn that is waiting for me.
Yup. :D I have seen some awesome looking colour changing yarn. A lot less work than faire isle knitting and not as easy to mess up. :)
I found a list over active switch games. Granted I have only tried the ring fit game. Link

eww on the driftwood causing stagnant water in that section :( You'd think they'd design these things so the water can still circulate, and fish can't die in there! o.O Hopefully once you've got those levels sorted, the shop might be able to recommend some more suitable decorations that will still allow the water to circulate (and maybe more real plants rather than fake ones?)
I can't blame you then if they're the same price! I need to get some more chunky plastic zips at some point, as I've used the ones I had stashed :P But I might wait until Mum goes to town at some point & see if she can get some from the shop in the market, as they might have a better choice of zip lengths than I've found online ;)
and if the colour changing yarn has the colours in random lengths, then you get an even more natural looking effect :D
I do have the Ring Fit game, but I've never actually used it (I got it just before another health problem surfaced, so I figured it was probably a bit over the exercise level I could do at the time) 😊 I also have one of those sports games though, so I'll have to get the Switch charged up and give that a go! :D
