Well that's definitely an improvement then! And if it's just when you boot it up, you can walk away / turn the laptop so the screen isn't facing you while it loads, then you don't have to see all the flickering 😇

I love that pigeon strain! I went with a random choice and ended up with Salty.... which seems to be getting attacked by seaweed on the bottom of the ocean right now o.O

I chose instant strand too, pretty happy with it so far. But who knows what it will look like in the end. :P

It sounds dumb, but it is taking some getting used to not having the screen flicker. Not that I am complaining. :P My laptop boots up pretty fast, but I might try looking away for a couple of minutes. lol

That is a strange one! o-o But at least you can pick the pigeon strain next if you want to. :)

I know what you mean - my old computer monitor would flicker like crazy for the first 5 minutes after it was switched on, but when I got this monitor to replace it, I was still walking away for 5 minutes after turning it on, as I'd got so used to needing to do that! :P

Salty is looking all kind of shrivelled.... I guess the HA didn't like being underwater for so long :P although knowing my luck, this will end up being the grossest final stage :P I think the pigeons will be my next strain, especially as they're wiping off the poop from the HA on the current stage ;)

that was my thought and it turns out we're right. I'm not sure it's their best work, but I'm still happy with it for the most part. I'm Grounded now lol but most of those are ugly stages lmao so cover up time :D Looks like you're getting the bird now :D

I think it might've worked better without whatever the arms are meant to be, although I suppose it does make a neat zombie pigeon ;) Grounded has a fantastic final stage, but I agree that the stages aren't all that pretty :P

We are all creatures of habit. :nods: From what I gathered it made sense that it was the BIOS that needed to be upgraded since my laptop would act differently when it was battery operated. At least we know now what the end stages look like. I think I preferred the one I first got. :D

It wouldn't have even crossed my mind that the BIOS upgrade would be clear because it behaved differently when it was on battery! But I'll make a note of that, just in case it comes in handy for the future ;)

At least the instant strain has been kind (that's now I got the pigeon one this time round), and not given duplicates.... yet :P

Who knows, it might come in handy. I had to use a guide for that, as it involved some commands etc that I wouldn't have known about without it!

I am glad you got the strain you wanted. :D I think I am going to try for one of the shorter strains next, where you can use a vial.

my only trouble at the moment, is that I tend to scribble down notes on scraps of paper - I think I need to actually dig out a notebook to use for computer stuff like that :P

hehe your strain is looking really weird under the hair at the moment ;) I think all the strains I still need are either 7 or 8 stages long.... apart from one vial which I decided I probably would never use as it's not a particularly nice looking final stage 😇

Sure does. lol My HA still insist on wearing a wig and full outfit. Can't say I blame her. 👼 7-8 stages seems to take forever! S I have already gotten the strains I really like from previous years, so now I am just working on the ones that looks okay. I never use any of the skins, so I am really just collecting them at this point.

I can almost guarantee that's what I'd end up doing too :P So far I don't think any of the computers have had the same problems as a previous one, so having it all written out hadn't been much help ;)

At least this year the stages are only 8 hours apart, instead of 12-14 ;) I made a list last year of the strains I still needed, as I couldn't keep track of how long each one would take! I thought this time I'd work on each of this year's new ones first, then see what there's time for after that (and I'm just collecting them as well, as I've hardly even used the wolf zapper skin lately, let alone any zombie skins!)

I thought they were worms at first glance :P True, but it's not as bad as some of the ones I'm probably never going to get ;) I went for a random strain again, and got Grounded (although I can almost guarantee I won't be lucky a fourth time with getting the final new one I need through the random option!)

I bought the lotus vial which will be done in not too long I think. :D And I got wild and jacked already.

:nods: All computers and printers come with their own special problems to solve. :P And it depends on your OS too. If you have upgraded to a new one, fixing it might be different too. Menus and whatnot.

That is good to know that stages doesn't take as long. :D Is that true for older skins too, or just the new ones? I have noticed that it has been a while since your HA has been a wolf. My favorite is the cat one obviously.

nods it's a nightmare when I have to try and sort problems with Grandad's computer - he's still in windows xp! :P And usually I end up having to give Mum instructions over the phone to try and fix it, which is quite complicated too ;)

Windows xp.. now that is something I have not seen in a while. I remember using it, and I think it was one of the better one windows have had. It is always interesting when you end up being your family's tech support. :P

I just started on Salty.. my 4th one this year.. it seems to be moving quite fast.

my first computer was actually sharing Grandad's windows 3.1 computer laughs His XP computer is so slow now, but in a way I think he'd be so muddled if he used a faster computer - this one kind of works at his pace ;) It's ok being tech support when you can find out the answers through google searching! If it's a question about Dad's phone for instance, I just tend to do the usual "switch it off, and switch it back on again" 😇

I hadn't noticed the gangplank on your HA until you mentioned that! Hopefully we can get through quite a few before Survival ends ;) (we've got until the end of March 8th to start the last one)

I used ms dos on my first computer. I am not sure about which operating system it was. I mostly used it for games. I had a Commodore 64 before that, that I played games on. First using cassettes before getting a disc player for it. And I games on my brothers Amiga. Man, I feel old! Since he is retired, he has time to wait on a slow computer I guess. 👼 We are so used to things happening fast these days. It is surprising how many things can be fixed by a reboot. :)
