That's what I normally do with my birthdays, I stay at home, order some dinner, and watch movies with my husband.

I've heard that as people get older they tend not to have big birthday bashes unless it's a milestone age.

I wasn't sure why, but I'm beginning to understand now. I was lured by how fun the big parties looked on TV.

lol i did not get any cake of most of the time no one wants it. I did get some mini cakes yesterday for myself with fruits. Yum!

Turned in my stuff at my now former job... been the bigger person and wished them all the best. I left and they said nothing... show how they are..

oh nice! Seems i like that to in the evenings, people during the afternoon and evening for me.

I used to have that idea also with parties and such when I was younger. My 40th happened during the lockdown, so I didn't get to celebrate it at all, so I wasn't happy about it. My husband and I talked about our 50ths already, we aren't there yet, still early 40s for both of us and we decided to do something big for those.

I'm glad the turning in everything went well, even with them not saying anything. It probably feels like a weight has been lifted :)

I think it's because of TV glamourizing those kinds of parties, especially during the teen years.

- I'm glad you got some cake. For me, it's not my birthday unless there's cake. I'm happy you were able to turn in your old job's stuff with out any issues. Now, just relax before you start the new/old job again. :D

Ian was only a Category 1 once it reached me and so all we got was a bunch of wind and rain. Most if it happening at night.

Gave the birds some treats which seemed to keep them calm :)

So glad the hurricane didn't do any damage. I'm so sorry so much has been going on here that I really didn't pay much attention, or I would have asked...

It's okay. I can understand not keeping up with the weather all around the world :)

I honestly didn't pay much attention to anything but the Hurricane for a few days. Hurricanes are relaxing to me because I tune out the rest of the world's problems.

Though if it would have been a Category 4 or 5 I wouldn't have been so relaxed XD

Hello october, september and my birthday flew by!

Well my old job stinks! Did not get anything from them. Not a good bye or a parting gift.. nothing! Well says more of them then me.

Starting my new/old job tomorrow, can't wait! Also this month i have a postcrossing meetig, bullet journal meeting and tickets for a concert. Going to be a great month!

Is the postcrossing, where you send postcards to other people around the world? If it is, then I used to do that also, but it has been awhile and I might start it up again. I get the emails, but I haven't had the time to really get back into it. What concert are you going to be seeing?

TV will do that. Become an adult and have amazing birthday parties in whatever big city you will be in haha!

yes it is. I haven't send any in ages and i started again sending a card yesterday and today. I have some friends who are really active and they let me know if there is a meeting so i can register for it when i can.

ANd today it's World Postcard Day.

- I'm so glad you, Brian, and the birds didn't get blown away. I've been following the hurricane also. I have family in the Ft Myers area and am amazed at the reports coming out of the area. I've never been so glad we moved away as I am now. :D

Hi everyone. Happy October. Hope all of you are fine, and if you aren't, I wish you the best.

I'm going through a lot right now personally. I really haven't wanted to say anything, and still don't; it's regarding my family. But I get so overwhelmed on occasion that its a comfort to come here and just get a virtual hug. The coming holidays will be bittersweet but I'm so grateful to have them. I would be thankful to be in your thoughts and just wanted to say how much I appreciate the friendship I've gotten from this club through the ten and a half years I've been here. As Ru Paul says in his beautiful song, New Friends Silver, Old Friends Gold:

just got home from my 1st day back. It was wonderfull i felt so welcome. Felt i never had left, bit slow and some new residents so took me a while longer.

Got my keys, token & name badge today. But my login for the systems is not working and no helpdesk in the weekend :(

I got concert tickets for a dutch artist; Miss Montreal.

- I'm glad you're first day back at the new/old job was a good one. Why is there never tech support on weekends? If you talk to the techs they always say they're overworked 24/7/365 so where do they hide on the weekends? lol 😂

i always wonder that to. We also work the weekends, what is the computers are on the fritz then we can't do nothing. Anyway all sorted out now and i am back into the systems.
