I ordered christmas lucnh for myself and then i worked from 3pm till 11pm. Work had a platter of snack and drinks for us. Sadly yesterday and today we had rain, lots of rain..

- What did you get for your Christmas lunch? I bet it was a bit weird going back to work after 9.5 days off. Do you get extra pay for working a holiday? I used to so I loved working holidays. It gave me a nice, fat paycheck. lol Our Christmas was nice. We had an apple cinnamon glazed ham with all the trimmings. I stuffed myself. Then we watched the "Rush Hour" movie on netflix. It was so funny hearing the interplay between Jackie chan and Chris Tucker. 😂

pumpkin soup, quiche, breads, egg salad, yoghurt with muesli, cheese, ham, fruit salad. Yum! I had food for 2 days lol. We get paid extra on holidays but i don't mind working with christmas, it was fun and cozy.

Oh Ham and a movie always good :) I now have 3 days off an evenng shift on the 30th and then off till january 3rd.

- Oh, that lunch sounds really good. I don't think I've ever had pumpkin soup although I've had squash soup. I'm thinking they're similar? You've got a nice holiday schedule. Are you enjoying your days off? Any New Years plans? We still have ham left and have a really big ham bone to make ham beans with. It'll be tasty. We're continuing the movies tonight with an Austin Powers movie. The first one, I believe. :D

- being a couch potato has it's benefits! I'm being a couch potato today. Ham with beans is a kind of soup. You get dried beans, and after soaking themfor a time, you put them in a pot with the ham bone and enough water to just cover everything. Here the beans come with a flavor packet. It contains the usual spices used on ham: salt, pepper, paprika, cloves, etc. Add this in and simmer on a low stove until the beans are soft. Sometimes we use vegetable broth instead of water. The spices also vary depending on the type of ham and beans. It's really good on those cold winter evenings. We watched the first and second austin powers movies last night. Both my guys cackled like maniacs at the funny parts. I think we'll watch the last one tonight. Have you found any good Christmas movies? :D

- my bad, I just can't keep things straight with this sieve of a brain. XD I understand financial issues. We can't afford a cat or a dog right now. I'll go check out Lycan in a bit. Don't worry about tokens. Amazon gave me 200 free when I read the beginning of your story. If that's not enough tokens then I'll bug my hubby and let you know the cost. ;) Do you have time to stop and just breathe right now? Busy holidays are good but you should always take the time to smell the roses. :D

After Christmas Eve and Christmas there was dad visiting then I've had appointments to wake up for. Yesterday I could have slept in but we thought the cleaning lady was coming earlier than she did.

Best part of the day was getting some suet nuggets for the bird feeder. I like giving any bird new treats :)

Once the meal worms arrive I'll get back to refilling the bird feeder like normal :)

Playing Minecraft does help me relax. I did a survival world (though I do switch to creative mode at certain moments) and am working on a base. Have come to love collecting honey.

oh that sounds yum! We have a tv station that is airing each night a christmas movie, some are good some are bad. I am not doing much and just taking it easy.

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Our Yule celebration went great. We had lots of yummy food to eat throughout the day, including these mushroom hand pies which were quite delicious. Gonna have to learn how to make those. Yum! We ended up staying up until like 4 am watching the Lord of the Rings movies (extended editions). We did finish them all though! o3o/

I got a few new games to play too. Just downloaded tabletop simulator and found a Danganronpa mod for it. Had fun playing that last night.

- I'm the same way with my hubby. He always comes back with "You have kids, why do you need another pet?"XD Ok, then stop and LOOK at the roses. lmao 😆 It sucks when you have to get up early for appts. I always make mine for the afternoon just so I don't have to get up early. :P I bet the birds love the treats. We hang suet blocks outside our back door. The woods are a few feet away so we can hear the happy little birds when they eat. :) I miss Minecraft. I don't think I ever collected honey in it, though. Then again, our worlds never lasted for long. They always went apocolyptical. lol :D

- Last night we had General Tso Chicken while watching Goldmember and MiB. Tonight it is KFC with MiB2 and 3. I think we may start doing this all the time. :) I'm glad you've got a variety of movies. It would suck if they were all the same. :D

i worked but i did not mind, had fun. I love those movies (and books)! I have the extended versions to, they are great! Did you ever see the movies with the comentary from the cast, hillarious!

Birds aren't eating the suet nuggets BUT I've now put them in between two layers of seed mix and one layer of meal worms. So here's hoping XD

Plus, as with everything, I throw a little on the ground for the birds that don't like going into the bird feeder.

When I was refilling the bird feeder today I heard one bird chirping away in excitement. Have had a blue jay follow me from the door to the feeder before XD

Yeah, hard to get into a world when it ends in a week XD

They had mushrooms and onions and spices and stuff all wrapped up in little pie discs. I'd have to ask my roommate how specifically they made them, which I definitely plan to. I'll definitely want to make more of those in the future.

I have not. One day I will. I do know a lot of the behind the scenes stuff though because my mom was obsessed with the series, and she told me many things.

Of course! Now we gotta watch the Hobbit through. It was one of my roommate's first time seeing the series, so we gotta show those to her too.

- General Tso's Chicken is the American take on Chinese food. It consists of a battered and deep fried (or baked) chicken pieces that are then coated in a spicy sweet and sour sauce. Sometimes brocoli is thrown in as a nod to proper vegetables. It is all served over a bed of rice (sometimes fried rice.) It's really good but I can only eat it once in a while because it's loaded with carbs. I love KFC also. They don't deliver here, though, and it's too far away to just run out and get. Hubby usually gets it when he goes to town for some reason. We did have a menu change last night. We didn't get KFC. :( Instead we got Burger King. Hubby says that sounded better to him. shrugs I was ok with it and devoured my burger. lol I like Home Alone 1 and 2. Night in the Museum was brilliant. So is the second one. Tonight I don't know what's for dinner but we will be watching the Daniel Craig James Bond movies. It should be interesting as I haven't seen the second one he did. :D

- I love listening to the birds communicate. People think they're just singing but they're not. It's also interesting to see how they react to the seeds and suet. :DI think my kids liked the destruction that was possible in that game way too much. ;) 😆

- that really does sound good. I hope you'll share the recipe once you get it. :D I've never watched LOTR extended version. Is it much longer than the original? :D

Me i am going to watch New Years Eve The Masked Singer, have oliebollen (typical ducth treat, friend dough with raisins and powderd sugar, yum!), watch a movie or 2, keep the boys (cats) safe and calm and go to bed at 0:05 lol. Meez (red cat) is so scared of the fireworks so sad to see.

Thank you for understanding. But what a miserable time it was. Both phones were even hacked. Took eight days to be sure that no one had taken my finances. Thank God I don't bank online. My tech guy spent 3 hours with me yesterday getting things back and now I even have Windows 11. Much to relearn.
