Sorry for your loss... and I am so sorry you do not enjoy your car. I have been there. Were you "stuck" with it? Or was it a car you really thought you wanted (like me and my suv)? Either way... sorry.
I really want to name your car now. :D
xe/they/she
Since you mentioned your car has sort of maternal vibes due to helping you and your family, maybe Kanga? (like from Winnie the Pooh) That or some of the names of classic moms from TV shows!
“Who are you, that do not know your history?” - Ulysses, Fallout: New Vegas, Lonesome Road.
Alrighty...
I got it right after I lost my Honda, it was kinda what was the best available. I live outside of Portland Oregon so it’s perfect to commute but has had a ton of problems.
She purrs like a tiger! Nice and smooth. A silvery gray with shimmer. Reliable. Starts with ease. Been around quite a bit with over 300K on it but has lots of life in her still. She has helped me moved 3 times. Oh and she likes to drive between 90 and 110kms (best milage at those speeds). I mean I would call her Lioness, now that I think about it.
[edit]I forgot, when she's cold from sitting outside in the winter, her steering wheel squeaks. She complains a lot about until she warms up inside the car. lol
My 2017 red Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is Jaina, after Jaina Proudmoore (from World of Warcraft). I love her! (both my car and the character) <3

🦋
My 2015 red Honda Fit is called Thing! It followed with the naming conventions my dad had for a while where we name the vehicles after Addams Family characters. Thing being the smallest family member, and my car being the smallest in the crew.

Okay.... sorry... been busy. :D
If you haven't already established a name... going with the lioness theme: Sarabi - Simba's mom's name. OR... Madge - The name of the lady who voiced her in the movie (The OG one... not the live action.).
Mums taxi
I wish I could go back in time..
Oh I haven't named my new car, my old one was called Redbox though.
I have a small yellow car, so I named it Casey after a Darren Hayes song.
Small white car named Ghost. I picked it up after a friend of mine kept calling me Ghost Rider because we were travelling across multiple states with 2 vehicles and he swears I never left his rearview the entire way.
My first and only car was a 2013 Toyato Scion IQ. He was burnt orange. I named him Reese cause he reminded me of the candy wrapper.
I had to sell him in 2020 to make ends meet :,)
My partner and I collect cars and tend to sell/buy different things often but we always get attached while we fix them up, so we end up naming them.
current list for me: 1992 Suzuki Cappuccino (red) - Chili 2019 Hyundai Veloster N (performance blue) - Haku
sold - 2017 Hyundai Veloster (white) - Bianca 1994 Mazda Miata (black) - Rocket
hehe, this thread is a delight. I love car names.
My first car was a silver '99 Chevy Tracker. Her name was Peanut and she was my love. She was old and rickety, but never failed me. She unfortunately got into an accident under someone else's care. :c [sup]i still miss her[/sup]
My current car is a light-blue 2011 Honda Accord, and her name is Baby Blue. She is much fancier than Peanut was, haha. This car has, like....technology. I've had Baby Blue for almost 5 years now, we've gotten pretty tight.

My current car is a Holden Berlina and his name is Marco. My first car was a Black VW Passat, and his name was Boris!

I don't have a car actually. I don't even drive. XD

In the end, mine called her GeM.
Mine worked her until reaching the treasure she has become. Running closer to spec.
[Spoiler=Typical Guy Shit]Mine was able to confirm with a friend's scan tool that the timing issue was resolved. Tho it also shewed several problems with sensors, MAF, ECT, and both O2. The simple solution for most is to replace all, because of faulty or non function. Also mine have a few other obstacles to overcome, a water pump replacement, some body work, and the most difficult a small EVAP leak.
Cars aren't difficult to understand, tho people are incomprehensible. A car won't withhold information about it's problems...[/spoiler]
