OMGoodness. I love that you have the dog tags... I didn't read it correctly the first time and thought the friend bought you the dog tags after the accident. That sounds like something my friends would do as well.
Thank you for sharing. Now I have an urge to go re-watch some episodes.... again... :)

I currently have a Mazda 6 I call Olivia. Didn't have my first car long enough to name it, unfortunately. That one was a Plymouth Neon I inherited from my ex's brother.
I once had a Honda Civic that I called many names. Hunk of Junk, Not This Again, Huge Assman, Dodgem Wannabe, Tin Can... I swear that thing was bad luck.
Currently it's a silver Hyundai Accent that I creatively call Silver.

I named my old car "West Virginia".
The story behind it is that I had been having car troubles for a while, every time my car idled or went below 15mph it would stall out. We found out later this was due to the gas detection system not detecting the gas that was in the tank. Well, this happened while in the middle of a crowded intersection of the busiest highway on Halloween night. The song "West Virginia" was playing on the radio, and in a moment of sheer desperation and panic, my ex and I started screaming "WEST VIRGINIAAAA, MOUNTAIN MAMAAAA, TAKE ME HOMEEEEEE" while scrambling to get the car running again. ^^'
RIP West Virginia, you were a crap car but I loved you.
My current car's name is Esdeath. Theres no story other than liking Esdeath from Akame Ga Kill, haha.

I have a Hyundai HB20 that I sometimes call "little warrior" because he's been through some stuff π but other than that it's just HB20. I did name my musical instruments, tho: Piano 1: Fritz (an acoustic Fritzdobert) Piano 2: Krome (an electric Korg Krome) Flute: Janaina
[edit] I almost forgot! I also named my old laptop "little baby" and my new laptop "canon" (like the ones that go boom), and an older car of my dad, a BMW X5, I used to call it "Panzer" because of its size lol
I feel so better seeing this thread and knowing I'm not the only one to name their cars...lol
My old PT Cruiser was named CHarger (because he liked going fast...right up til he died RIP) My 06 Saturn Vue is named Fish because when she was my grandparents' they had vinyl screens on the back windows with a fish my grandma caught on them (which have loong since faded)
I'm not really a fan of naming cars... but that was a good one. xD
I had a black Kia Rio for a few years that was nameless, and I've had my black Hyundai Elantra for, I think, four years now. I didn't know people named their cars, but you have all inspired me to try to think of a name!
Thank you all for sharing your stories, inspirations and comments. :) - epic... purely epic. :) I sang along with the story :D - I can not believe that I haven't named my instruments! I name almost everything... thanks for shining a light on a missing element in my life. :)
Decided to add some more names from a few of my friends and family: Brown/Bronze Cube: "Chewie" Gray Mazda3: "Dolphin" Blue SUV (can't remember the model): "Trixie" My sister had an orange Suzuki she called "Nemo". Then got a blue Prius she called "Dory". My brother had a red Ford Taurus he called "The Clown Car".
I'm glad y'all enjoyed it haha. My mechanic father didnt find it that funny. ^^'

I'm busting up laughing over the name "Scrotor the Obliterator." That's brilliant.
I name every car I've ever had, and definitely cry whenever I have to get rid of them. First one was a 68 Kombi named Fillmore after the one from Cars. Got a Hyundai Excel that I named Lady. She was such a great car. I could take her off-road in the worst possible situations and she'd go so hard and come out a peach. I bawled my eyes out when I had to take her to the wreckers, but she was just getting too old to repair for a reasonable cost. We named my husband's Lancer 'Baby Eleanor' after the mustang from Gone In 60 Seconds. Now I have an X-Trail called Babygirl. She's been a good car so far. I can tell I'm going to cry when I have to trade her in.
The first car I drove was Gladys, a Plymoth Caravelle, same model year as me so she was 16 when I first drove her. She was from a Gaddis dealership and had that stuck to her in a pretty noticeable place, so that's where the name came from. My current car is a little silver Hundai Accent, and the random license plate I got looks a little like "ZOMBIE" (it's not actually) so I named it Sparky after the dog in a zombie game (Dead of Winter iirc?), which is pretty weak but super cute and tries so hard. We joke a lot about that car, because it's small and silver and sometimes I swear it's invisible to other drivers. Also it's easy to lose in a parking lot among the many other silver compact cars.
