I'm not asking for more hearts or anything. But I'm puzzeled, because they said, that there are way more than 2k items in there (and there were, before they put this in place). So these should constantly move up in the waiting list. Can't possibly all be taken already.

I prefer seeing the usernames, for multiple reasons. Can't comment on the other changes since there's nothing in the donation center right now, so I haven't experienced them yet. I can say that I've never encountered lag when refreshing the donation center, FWIW.

EDIT: Not a fan of just 2 items on the bottom row. It gives the impression that the DC is almost empty with these being the only items; previously uneven rows only occurred when there weren't enough items to fill a full page. I'm sure it makes sense on the backend, but 18 is a weird number to choose as opposed to 16 or 20.

Man, some of these fish have been in the bucket long enough that they've straight up rotted and would be best discarded. It'd be nice if the fish were fully cooked when caught, you know what I mean? It's my hope that's fried black to the bone.

As for names: I'd be cool with a name when you click on the item.

Aesthetically speaking, I don't like how the bottom row has only two items. I think it would look better if either the bottom row is taken off or make the bottom row show the same amount of items, which is 4, as the row above it.

Oh! It just looks off, that's all. I was getting used to the other number of items that was listed before we jumped to 18 items.

I'm not bothered by no names but my initial reaction was I'd miss them. A toggle for anonymous donations is unnecessary time spent programming to me though. The issue isn't anonymity in the DC, it's load times.

It's cute when people donate a bunch on their birthday so that's mostly what I miss out on not having the name there. I like to send happy birthdays when I'm picking up frag fodder or thanks for random rare items. Not getting to do it is a lil bummer but it's worth the site loading better and donations are largely anonymous anyways irl.

I enjoy seeing names for reasons others have stated above. Can see when its a birthday or when someone has mass given out items and be able.to say thank you or help them celebrate what they're doing.

would it be possible to go back to having the actual number of items in the DC center shown instead of the "more than 2,000 items" or would it be too taxing resource wise? i like looking at the number and it helps me figure out how long i should stay at the DC center.

So when you click an item to pick up you get sent to another page right? Maybe you can see who donated it when you get to the:

You recieved XXXXXX 'page' You could add: Which was donated by: XXXXX

That way it would be less of a strain on the database? (no clue)

[edit] On that note. I don't care about it too much. Yeah seeing who donated it is nice, but if it is programming the DC or working on something else. Work on something else.

If it's hard to even change the number of items, let's just move on and fry the bigger fish, and revisit the DC if/when we have more help. The DC functions without them, that's all I care about. Function.

I liked seeing the number of items in the donation corner too, helped me estimate how often to visit. The names were nice too. I actually didn't know there was a problem with the donation corner before. But I get it if changes need to be made for functionality.

Also would prefer a fixed number of items shown per page. Atm it varies as I see from 17-19 items shown at once. Please let it be either 16 or 20, that the fix in the colums of 4.

I had not noticed lag in the DC. Does it cause lagging on the rest of the site?

I very much like NOT having user names in the DC. I did miss it at first but have gotten used to it.

I do understand the various reasons why people like to see the user names though and if the majority votes to keep them then there should be some sort of anonymous donation option… imho.

I also agree this is something that can wait to be redone.

I prefer usernames! Also, I could see how 50k+ items in there could slow things down...lol.
