well, more of a cross of Halloween and bonfire night - Niamh wanted the Morostidey kitty top, but I thought it was time for fireworks ;)
ooo I hope you have a good time :D He doesn't seem to get bored at the moment, mainly because their flat overlooks the carpark, so he's kept busy watching all the supermarket deliveries and post vans coming in laughs I'm hopeful that he'll have the confidence to go to the residents' lounge at some point though, as then he'd get a chance to chat with some others who live there ;) Gran just tends to sit and watch the world go by - somehow she doesn't seem to actually get bored! :P
That's always a shame when places like that close down :( I know some places over here had stopped running activities during the pandemic lockdowns, and there's probably a few that never actually reopened after that. What does your gran do to keep herself occupied?

it might also have something to do with there being random fireworks being set off in a garden nearby, while a group of 10 children (eventually followed by a much slower group of 10 adults :P) were sprinting up the road to go trick-or-treating yesterday evening :P

Thanks. I will be good to get away for a bit and hang out with my friend.
I would go nuts if I were to just sit and watch the world go by. :P Mine likes to listen to her radio, she will have a chat with your neighbours. and get visits from my large family of course.
:nods: It closed down due to covid and they just never reopened. I think these senior centres are important. A lot of elderly people get lonely, and places like that gives them something to look forward to and see other people.
Thanks, I am sure I will. :snugs:

same here - I think I'd need to be actually doing something rather than just sitting there ;) And yeah, that kind of thing is definitely useful - my other Grandad would even get dressed up in his suit & tie just to go to the supermarket ;) He ended up joining a local group and actually enjoyed it more than we thought he would (he'd never been interested in socialising before) ;)
it was one of those where you think "oh there's fireworks" yet by the time you look out of the window, they've stopped, so you don't get a chance to see them :P Having said that, there's a couple of displays on Friday & Saturday that I'm hoping we'll get a good view of :D

Leaving for the airport in an hour or so. :) Woop woop! lol
My grandma has always been very social, lately not as much as she used to. I think her age is really starting to catch up with her now. It is always nice to see them find something they find joy in. :D

as long as it isn't raining, one of the two displays should be almost guaranteed to give a good view.... but the other one is behind a huge tree unless I get to the allotment plot and watch from there! :P ooo I like the new HA :D
Are there any other social groups near where your Gran lives, or was the one she went to, the only one there?
Certainly with my Gran, her memory seemed to deteriorate really quickly over lockdown, but when she's been around more people (even going to the hospital and just seeing people and hearing snippets of conversations) she seems to improve quite a bit!

have a good time :)
well good luck with seeing the fireworks :) thanks. I got some new things lol. are the horns new on Niamh?
I'm going to set an alarm to remind me to get the camera set up, as it'll be guaranteed I'll forget otherwise :P
Niamh had the horns on yesterday as well, but they blend quite well with everything else so they're not particularly obvious ;) That's the ;)

I just realised the fireworks were layered over the horns, so it was blocking out one - does that make it easier to spot? ;)

maybe you're still seeing the cached version :P But Niamh's saying she wants to change outfits later anyway ;)

for once Niamh doesn't have a clue :P

hehe then you should force her into something she wont enjoy xD
hehe surprisingly enough she's thought of an idea now :P I might have that thought for tomorrow though, and give her an outfit she'd hate 😇
