Yup, already talked with them. i just need to sell the stuff in my shops! xD
Wanna know more about battling? ❤️ The Official Battle Guide v3.3 ❤️ Need to find books? 🌈 The Book Grind Guide v1.0 🌈
speed helps decide who gets to move first! If you have low speed, the opponent gets to strike first which can kill a pet before it has the chance to do their attack
I am not a fan of a lot of speed. I have 30+ battles pets if you want to look at some of my builds. By no means am I saying my builds or the way I do it is right. As you said it really is more of a personal preference.
Welcome to battling! :)
Pet builds are all personal preference. Speed only dictates crit hits. If your speed is higher than your opponent's, you can crit hit them and they cannot crit hit you. If your speed is lower than your opponent's, they have a % chance to crit hit you every turn.
My main pet has high speed. No one crit hits him and he does massive damage with crits. However, I have a bunch of other pets with low/no speed so it's all just based on what you want.
Thanks for the reply~
not a fan of a lot of speed Sizzlen speed: 5000 😅 (I understand it's relatively low, but just though it was funny that "low" is relative :P)
As a battle pet with 10,605 str and 12,415 health 5,000 speed is low compared those. For me I am a health and str type battle. Really though a build of a battle pet is all up to the each individual. IYou have to have some speed for special weapons and at times not to get your ass kicked right out of the gate, but speed has just never been as important to me as the other stats. ;)
Speed is nice. Can outrun all those crits!
he's a good lad, kick everything's ass.
remember, Badger don't care ;)
Welcome welcome! :)
Speed is certainly the stat debated the most I think, since, as says - it's only tied to chance mechanics, and the occasional weapon will have an effect tied to it.
It does, however, make battles more consistent, which is easier on beginners, so it's generally recommended to keep your first battle pet pretty even for a while (you can always change it up later :))
One BIG advantage of a more even build is that you can utilise the stat Tomes easier (Tome of Earth, Fire, etc.) Since they give 1-3 in each stat, making it hard to keep a specific stat lower. They are more efficient to use than other boosters in terms of sp.
My Tarrant is only just at the point where I'm thinking about stopping his speed training, at around 3.5k even stats
numbers / more in-depth
Using a 'low speed' build also depends on where you put the stats that would have gone there - but we're talking super endgame level.
Using some totally random (and possibly crazy) builds to illustrate:
[box=lightgreen]Hp: 10,000
Str: 13,000
Def: 6,500
Speed: 5500
This is close to a pretty standard build (there's some 1k wriggle room), good damage and defence, and we'll get critical hits a decent amount. Having 10k health is also efficient as most weapons are capped at healing 1,000 hp max, and the usual healing amount is 10% on endgame weapons[/box]
[box=lightgreen]Hp: 10,000
Str: 17,000
Def: 0
Speed: 8,000
This pet is all about dealing as much damage as possible before losing, the attack is very high, and they will crit a decent amount. You would use this against something like a plot boss - something where the goal isn't to kill it, but to deal as much damage as possible, as quickly as possible.
Go in - hit hard(preferably with invincibility+freezes) - lose and heal - repeat. Or they can murder most other things in 1 hit.[/box]
[box=lightgreen]Hp: 15,000
Str: 11,000
Def: 9,000
Speed: 0
This pet has NO speed, so they'll never do as much damage as the other 2, but they have much more health and defense to make up for that, and so can survive longer than the other 2 above. Something like this would probably be better against opponents with restrictions on healing, or on battles you expect to last a long time.[/box]
All 3 pets have the maximum 35k stats, but would be played in very different ways, it's really up to what your goal is. The standard build is good for everything though, which is why it's recommended ;)
What I'm hearing is, Badger is either a full tank or glass cannon 🤔
Thank you! This was super helpful, esp the different situations where each build would be utilized/optimal. <3
Question 2: Is healing for also capped? If not, using Pokemon as a reference (since that's the only reference I have ^^;;), are there DoT/wall builds?
I haven't even begun looking at curses/blessings/scrolls. 😅
PQuill doesn't have a cap. For my pet with 11k HP, it gives back all 11k healing.
What tier is your pet? Battling is very convoluted and confusing in the beginning. You will learn more the more you battle. For now, focus on your weapons and paying attention to your attacks vs your opponent's attacks. Look at the icons and how much damage they do and how much they heal vs how much you heal and his much damage you are doing. Lights of sprites scroll or divine denizhen are great beginner scrolls. You can pick up one of those infinite use scrolls and worry about the rest once you get the hang of battling
Neeko only T4, so still got a long ways to go. Mostly just been doing battle quests & training center. Hoarding tomes for later.
Honestly, at this level I'm just spamming 🤷
Your pet should be big enough to win his own lights of sprites scroll, just need to work on his set. To win the scroll you need 200 wins on PSR, eclipse and willowisp. It's tedious, but you can do it. It also gives you a feel for farming. Be careful because eclipse has healing disabled.
As for your set, you want to pick up the gorgun from the battle shop. What is your budget? Ditch the shrine for UltimaPlus Tag, and you can also add Rainbow Quill and life Arrowhead that are cheap healing weapons
Always pay attention to the icons an opponent does and blocks. it will help immensely with the harder challengers.
Oh yeah, he can def beat those guys easily. I only beat them each 10 times for the egg, didn't realize there was more!
Been working towards Gorgun & Malevolent Grenade in the shop, but haven't been able to defeat hard opponents yet. As for budget, it's hard to say as I've been jumping from achievement hunting, building TCs, wardrobe expanding, etc. Basically trying everything the site has to offer!
Subeta battling is not as complicated as Pokemon. For now make sure to do your Battle Quests every day for exp, and read to your battle pet as much as possible - you'll need the AP later.
There's a database of what loot the challengers drop HERE, later you'll want to farm everyone for tomes and some of them drop useful scroll pieces or mod crystals.
Ah pokemon <3 Just in case you didn't know yet the icons on weapons and things don't have any type matchups here (it gets asked occasionally haha) As a slight correction on my part (sorry! <3) I should have said that the healing on Infinite Use, %heal weapons is normally capped at 1000, things like the Phoenix Quill and other once per battle things aren't. It only comes into play at the endgame tiers though.
The Phoenix Quill, incidentally, is about the most useful weapon to own on the entire site - a 100% heal, no matter how much health you have. It's summer rn too, so it's at regular price in the Millionaire Center :)
quick question, haven't been around in a long while and wasn't sure where to ask. is subetalodge (permanently) down, and are there any replacements for it? rip my list of books my pets haven't read. ;v;
