The cheapest way to raise intelligence is reading books. SubetaLodge has a nice feature to track what each pet has and hasn't read. It also will let you sort by user shop price to knock out the cheapest first. It is labor intensive to read all to your pet.

If you know you are going to shoot for high intelligence and are prepared to sink in SP, I suggest buying from places like Zombie Den, Go Outside, Medicondria, Steamwork Managerie, and Esters first. The prices are almost always lower than buying from other users. Then you mass update on Lodge for your pet and get the books that are cheaper from users.

I grabbed the very last Fanciful Box and got a from it. Figured I’d try out a single box. My best battle pet, Karla, is only Tier 8 right now, so the staff will be a great wardrobe item until I get her much stronger way down the line.

That was unclear phrasing on my part, sorry, not what I was referring to. I meant the icons for activated curses/blessings/freezing/freeze protection.

Hey everybody, here I am again with a question that I'm sure has an answer somewhere, but I'm stumped.

What is this warning in reference to?

I've never seen it before. I have potions attached to my pets and weapons modified, but what are Healers, Stealers and freezers??

"Oh No! You can only have one stealer, one freezer, and one healer attached at a time!"

Healers are weapons that heal your pet -- something like Bluud Wand for example. If you hover over that item in your Armory, you can see the little heal icon with 15-20% next to it, which means it heals 15-20% of your pet's HP every turn it's used. In your Armory, healers will say "Healer" under their picture.

Freezers basically lock your opponent in place, meaning the opponent can't do anything on the turn where they're frozen. It's basically a free turn for you to hit them as hard as you can! In your Armory, they'll say "Freezer" under their picture.

Stealers can steal an opponent's weapon, and sometimes you can use that weapon against them! They'll say "Stealer" in the armory.

We disable freezing/healing/stealing against some opponents to shake things up a bit, but they're all fairly powerful effects when used against opponents without any "resistances," so we don't allow people to stack their deck with a bunch of freezers or healers or stealers at once.

When your pet reaches 35K in stats, that's when you stop earning EXP right? Not when it reaches t13?

That pet is capped, and can not earn more exp. (Some boosters can take the pet several points beyond 35k stats, but after that only intel and level from boosters will increase.)

You also get this lovely message when "spending exp", and can not even buy level unless you leech below 35k stats.

Okay, Well....Haneul hasn't reached t13 yet, but at first I thought he'd stop earning EXP when he got to t13, I wanted to make sure it was at 35k, not reaching t13 (which is...22k?)

A T13 pet will continue earning exp until it reach 35k stats, so you don't need to worry. Also, it is better to buy health with your saved exp before tier 13 triples exp costs, so that was a good decision for Haneul's build. With T13 and its exp costs, you are going to end up using stat boosters for any significant stat gains.

Some thoughts/ramblings from a pretty newbie battler (who really just tries to remember to use the training center/sometimes Shinwa quests for boosters and has pretty crummy items). I've been sort of thinking about what might be helpful for newbie battlers (as one myself!) by thinking about what I've found useful in other games I've played that have a battle component.

I feel like so many weapons are just so expensive. I'm not expecting battling to be super cheap obviously but for example, when you hit tier 5 in the weapons guide, many of the items jump to a like ~10M+ price tag? I may want to get into battling but I'm not sure if I want to put in that level of investment yet. What I think could be interesting potentially (although I don't know how well it would work in this system and maybe it already exists but I've just missed it among all the guides) is maybe a play by play guide of how to beat certain opponents with budget sets or at lower tiers or something (and with some commentary?). It's useful to see like, oh, so that's how using a freezer or a bomb or xyz is useful. And seeing some strategies helps me extrapolate its usage to my other battles. Like, oh, that strategy worked against x, I see that y is kind of similar so I can use a similar strategy. Or adjust the shown strategy based on what I have. Some might think of this as "cheating," but sometimes, I'm just too stupid to work around all the mechanics in my head on my own. Mr Cool's guides are close and pretty useful in their own right, but I'm talking about even more ELI5 level.

To use an example of another game, I play Another Eden. The battle system includes mechanics like buffs/debuffs, switching out characters for other effects, weapon zones, element zones, a limit break-ish system, different weapons, "mods" to equip to your characters, etc. And sometimes, it's nice to just see videos/guides step by step of how to beat certain opponents sometimes even with just free characters because it gives you a sense of aha, so I can do that too! Or ohhh, so that's how I use zones effectively, that's why 1, 2, or 3 buffs/debuffs are so important, etc. Or look, someone beat them with x strategy that I don't really have the components for unfortunately but someone else beat them with y strategy which I do have more of the components for (and gives me something to strive for specifically if I'm just missing like 1 or 2 weapons or something). Sometimes I do end up having to copy them almost exactly, sometimes I swap out parts of the example strategy for units that I have, but they have all generally helped me learn how to better utilize certain mechanics or appreciate certain items/units that I had underappreciated before.

Again, late night ramblings (in my time zone anyway) that may or may not make much sense right now but just wanted to throw in my last two cents/brain cells for tonight.
