I'm not sure if scrolls should be first introduced in a 'advanced' section. Knowing what scrolls were from the beginning would have been a game changer for me (and knowing that even a T1 pet could have done a couple of BQs).
Even the training part seems to have an advanced thing in it. It suggests that defense should significantly lower than strength. I actually don't understand this and I haven't gotten to the part the explains it yet. Newbies should probably just focusing on getting stats up and maybe worry about that part later.
Knowing other ways to get stats would be good to keep in to help people train faster, but I also wouldn't worry about including the section about how the training center doesn't help after T10. If I'm at T2, I am not worried about things that happen at T10. I will worry about it at T10.
I also agree that a set basics "you can have eight weapons, make sure you have a healer and a freezer" etc. could help. there are a lot of weapons which can be overwhelming but knowing that I should go look for a freezer and a healer instead of entirely weapons is good. I never really got the hang of it though, so maybe that's just me.
They don't need to be covered in-depth until an advanced section, but yeah, beginners need to be told to read to their pets as they train, and given a brief idea of what sort of things scrolls can do and a couple of cheap general purpose ones to aim for just to help with BQs. Everything else can wait until later.
Thanks for the information! ❤ No problem haha, I was really curious if it was weighted in any way after was talking about "chase" items
Maybe a choose your own adventure?
You smacked the shit out of Angry Arnold, do you get how you did it? If not here is step by step again how a weapons works and what battle screen is telling you. Or you got it and now thirst for more than worm juice, let's look at scrolls before you take on Eclipse and slack your new found thirst for blood.
I definitely think the UI needs some updating. The fun descriptive stuff takes up most of the battle information but for the most part, they don't tell you anything. The important parts, the icons, are in small boxes on either side.
Maybe putting the icons under the fun descriptive stuff would help, but that's also going to get cluttered real fast too.
[edit] Oops, accidentally pinged someone.
I believe what you're referring to are attack and defense of a weapon's icons? This is in the battle example in the guide, but I will be sure to double check that that is the case. The battle example might get an update to where I can show off every potential aspect, such as a curse, a blessing, a steal/blasting, a freeze etc.
The only thing i'm unsure about is whether to use a baby pet to show these examples in particular, or use Elfric, who isn't; RNG is a big factor in battling unfortunately. What does everyone recommend?
Thank you, I will be making those changes too.
I'll mail you

I would use a baby pet for all the beginner stuff. If I'm new, I would look Elfric and go "well, that pet isn't anything like that mine" and could contribute to people just tuning out if they think off the bat you need have high stats to get started (like I thought BQs were like).
Elfric would be fine for advanced stuff, I think. Elfric was also fine for parts of the guide where stats are irrelevant (like the part where you showed that your pet has to full and happy).
Go with a small pet. You damage and healing will look huge using your main pet. I've seen people get confused or think they are doing it wrong because their numbers are much much smaller
Gotcha, I figured using a baby pet would be ideal. I used Zircon in the example, but I will go down to a T1 that has some basic training. I'll start working on Okkoto then. He's already got some levels because I was going to make him my 7th battle pet but told myself no, focus on the other 6 first. xD

Something I'm not entirely sure on, but maybe move the 'create a set' part up? I feel like the act of making a set is super basic and you can introduce the different parts (freezer, stealer, healer, your constants, etc.) for the first time here. You can elaborate further in a more advanced section. I don't know what you're planning on when revamping the section though.
Ikr right, i thought chase items meant 2 😂 derp
Seems like fhe items get refreshed depending on the war
Looks like this got its blessing updated.

I wasn't sure if the weapon set section was even worth keeping anymore. =x I'm afraid it might be useless as information.

We'll have to ask an actual newbie, then. I personally think it's useful to know that the same weapons can exist in more than one set maybe if you just want to reduce it?
That should suffice. I'll look at cleaning it up. I didn't know if going step by step adding a weapon into the armory, then the steps to making a set is needed or not. I was really trying to make sure I covered everything as detailed and visual as possible.

What is the best... cheapest/fastest way to raise AP?
phew I just spent a couple of hours looking through my 's unread book list and buying and reading restockable books. filling in for too. is adopted, had less than thirty days so still can't battle. anyway, It takes a lot to move the AP count up!! it's so slow, like training. is my reader, not spending that much on reading for and ! time to make dinner
I like to use intel boosters first, then read a book to a pet to gain a lot of AP. If you raised your pet's intel by 32 points through a stat booster, then read them a book, you will get 2 AP since 1 AP is awarded every 16 intel points. tomes often give intel boosts, so those are reliable in a sense. There's not many strictly cheap intel boosters i think?
