Ohh damn, a FEH thread! Been playing the game on and off, but mostly just for collecting units and filling up the gallery with their 5*lv40 monologues. I recently kinda wanted to start building up viable teams since I mostly tried to pair up units that I felt like they could fit well strategically and thematically, but I do have some issues. How are you guys keeping track of all of these skills and descriptions? Many creators and people on Reddit are so good at remembering which skill does what but I barely manage to keep track of it. Weapons are feeling like math quizzes to me know, haha. How do you guys usually play?

Well the really short answer would be just throwing things at the enemy and hoping it works ^^; Lately there have been some very powerful units that steamroll most content (FEdel....). Myself I am in an spot where I can get vault of heaven/T20 every other week but no higher because my throwing method doesn’t work any more that high haha

These days I try and play with my favourites. There are so many skills but there are a few key ones that I like to remember, like Distant Counter, Null Follow Up and Close Call/Spurn. They are universally helpful to have for your units so normally if I want to do a fancy build I start with the most appropriate fancy skill for my unit and then take it from there (depending on what fodder I have available too)

Weapons... some of them are ridiculous these days. I assume that most will give extra stats for the uni simply being on the map, so I take it from there.

- OMG yeah, new skills are so ridonkulous! The fallen Morgans.... pretty sure my eyes rolled out of my head for a moment trying to read them!

I build up the units I like (and are easily available as 4s), and pray that their skills are good enough. I'm more of a collector too. I have a few newer units I'm working on building, but mostly I stick with the same team I've always used, upgrading their skills as the come available. Nino has been my mainstay since the beginning, really excited to have her as a resplendent!

- I have basically never used Chrom. Marth was the second 5s unit I got in the whole game, so if I needed a dragon effective weapon, that's who I was going for. Maybe I'll build him up a bit since I'll be getting him as a resplendent after Nino with my FEH pass. Mine is currently rocking an old TT heal bot set: Sol, Renewal, ardent sacrifice, Drive Def, defiant def (lol). (he's only a 4s so he doesn't even have Falchion or aether, so sad)

Thanks for your offer! I will absoluuutely make use of it, haha. I have been a little anxious with doing arena, since I haven't invested any time into it and being downranked is so sad, haha! I have been thinking about creating a new fun team since I recently completed my 5*+10 P!Kris (for obvious reasons lol). Being F2P I nearly started crying when I got both L!Sigurd and L!Lilina which I both adore as characters. I was thinking about giving some love to Altena because I am a huuuge FE4 nerd, haha. What are you guys working on?

Nino is precious. <3 God, these Morgans gave me such a headache! Looking at those descriptions in German made everything even more confusing! :D

I am kinda tired of just throwing my B!Edel at everything and it's so odd how every Edergard iteration is just such a powerhouse! Crunchy Edelgard kind of bothered me. Is there any character you wanna see in the game? Or is there any present character that you love?

- Edelgards are so broken! I got the new fallen one, and I've just been letting her solo rip through the Tempest Trials. Just wish I didn't have to counter her in the arena and AR. OTL P!Kris is a good choice, I already commit to building Lex before him though. We've been getting so many free Axe Cavaliers lately, I'm bored. OTL

Altena would be a good choice, she's a solid flier, great prf weapon, and available as a 4s, so she's easy to build. I'm currently working on Lex (aforementioned) and Ilyana. Other wise my arena for is Eirika, Nino, Nowi, Bonus Unit. I need to get Null follow up on one of them cus you basically need it to beat fallen Edelgard. I'm thinking maybe Nino, I have her running desperation/Brash Assault which has served her generally really well, but for some reason Edelgard's ability disregards Brash Assault effect (even though bold/vengeful etc fighter skills and newer weapon effects like Dussel's lance, can still get their guaranteed follow up against her). Unfortunately, the two units who have null f/u on them that I have fodder for atm don't have other skills that mesh well with how I have my Nino built, so if feels like a waste, they also don't mesh with Eirika's skill set, and Null generally doesn't benefit Nowi at all due to her low speed.

My husbandos Matthew and Gaius are already in the game. I've given them some nice builds with their prf weapons, but in general due to their status as gen 1 dagger units, their stats and utility still kinda suck. Still waiting on my waifu Scarlet though. And I also want to see Pelleas in the game.

- My Eirika right now has Wrath on her B slot, should I replace it with Spurn? I got a free MKris a while back. The extra damage might help her with fallen edelgards. My own fallen edelgard can take her on for now, but what about when she's not the bonus unit anymore? Ugh. OP plz nerf.

Picked up Shanna and Juno on the new banner in about 50 orbs, they both have terrible IVs though. I don't really care that much. I just wanted the niche red archer flier, might help with PoL. But I got the gold on that now, so I guess it doesn't matter much anymore! lol.

Plegian MKris, a nice choice :3 I was thinking about making him a project too but then Spring Saleh happened and I think I’ll do him instead for Axe Cav.

Arena... it’s something I wouldn’t stress too much about, honestly. I am normally between T18-20 and move up and down like a yoyo. I enjoy it a lot more by focusing on my favourite rather than the super OP highest scoring and they score decently enough. I have a few units I rotate around but atm I am using Itsuki, NHana, Oboro and bonus. I also have FTakumi, Baby Lyon, Nowi, Tsubaki and Libra built up and I rotate them around depending on what the threats are.

My merge project atm is Seteth, but he’s not really coming home at the moment. The other units I want to 10+ are 5* locked and I’m not good at saving. I hope one day to get a +10 LRyoma, I liked him before he was cool ;) my most wanted unit is LXander - I have spent money on the game before but am really trying to cut down... but if they released him I would whale until I had him.

- Sealed Falchion Chrom is ace, would highly recommend him if you want to take the time to invest a bit in him. He holds up very well for a y1 unit. Eirika- what’s her speed stat like? If she’s hitting over 40 then I’d say go for it - the extra damage will be great for her and iirc the Eirikas I’ve faced have been fairly bulky so extra damage reduction is always good.

FEdel is a complete joke but I did discover the quick riposte seal/skill is your BFF when fighting her. I’m not sure how it works mechanically but if you let her attack you in enemy phase, qr will give you an auto double that is really helpful. My (admittedly very well invested) Oboro managed to kill her quite reliably on my area run this week, I made sure Obo was on a defensive tile first though! It was always an enemy phase kill as well, player phase she was just smashed by her. I heard Boey with his refine is a good counter for her too, and am tempted to build one.

- Her spd is sitting at 44 (resplendent buff + flowers) Plus steady posture adds to her spd, plus her ally bonus effect from seglinde can push it even higher. Since she has steady posture 3 she wants the enemies to initiate, so maybe I should consider putting QR seal on her (she's got chill att right now) and see if she can tackle edelgards better. Between her +rally and steady posture she gets up to 47 def, plus if I gave her spurn she'd probably get close to the max 40% damage reduction against edelgards.

I'm considering giving Nino Gronrraven+ instead of her prf, but since raven tomes can't be refined, it would drop my potential arena score. I have a +2 Boey with his refine, never bothered fully building him cus I had Nino.

I'm going to try QR on Eirika though, maybe give her an armoursmasher too if she still struggles with Fallen Edelgards. She does fine against brave and leg edelgard due to colour advantage.

Yeah I have to wait for those traits fruits since I already used them for another unit (I guess they hate me, they always come with bad traits lol)

Welcome fellow fe4 nerd~ Actually I just look up user-made builds since I couldn't remember all those skills alone. I can do very basic builds but only if I see good stats on units and usually my units has bad traits so ahaha.... Anyway, right now my project is just Lyon (who is +7), as I'm not a into the competitive so I have little resources. As for the characters I would love in the game... Still waiting for Sain, Forde, Effin, Homer, Safy, Claud... yeah, still alot ahaha

All the other characters are in, one way or another: Lyon, Ephraim, Hector, Ares, Eldigan, Inigo/Lazlow, Lilina, Soleil, Ophelia, Noire, ecct... (too manyyy)

oh nice, worth a shot with her definitely. I’m always interested to know what units can beat FEdel. Iirc the folks at Reddit said Boey didn’t even have to be merged so high because his prf has Raven effect? Idk, I haven’t tried him yet and I don’t have the dew to refine his weapon. QR is like the budget Null follow up in this situation.

Guys, I am 35 summons into brave houses revival and I have summoned 9(!) five stars (3x Edel 1x Claude 2x Sara, 1x FTiki, my first Sonya and random OG Sigurd)Also got my first Lex! I can’t quite believe it C: funnily enough I had Edel and Sara appear on the same circle twice. Out of orbs for the moment but I should get the last 20 I need soon enough for spark.

- Yeah, is prf has raven, and it's refine allows him to CC beasts and melle units. It's quite good. (far better than Owl tome!) He did kill my Fallen Edelgard in TT once, but he had help from Idunn (who is her main bane in TT - armor SE and Vengeful Fighter, so she doubles when Eddie initiates, which on auto battle, she does 2x a turn! lol so Idunn gets 4 hits on her) His niche is quite different than Nino's and I could use a some better valentia units for limited hero battles... maybe I should invest. I have almost max feathers again, and haven't summoned any Lex or Illyana recently to add to their merges. I need to figure out a build for Illyana... Lex has att/def solo, vantage, and rouse att/def, I think that works pretty well for him, Illyana's just got her default skills... considering giving her donus doubler and blade tome.

Wooooah congrats! What a great haul! - Sara is so so so so good! I love her design a lot.

I will most likely pass on that banner. I don't care enough for the units to go for merges, even though B!Edel is helping me a lot in steamrolling stuff. The Seasonal banner I am not too interested in either, so I am glad that I finally get to hoard some orbs! Events are kind of a lot, though. So many at once!

ergh, everyone you named, I want too. Especially Claud and Safy! I am still waiting for Artur (because it's my real name and his hair is pretty lol) and Tatiana (because I looooooved her design in Echoes).

Who do you guys use for the Rokkr sieges? I kinda love that mode, but my units are kinda underperforming.

- Nice haul!! I did my tickets, got nothing. that was that. kinda still want Lysithea for skills and claude for a better IV, but idc enough about any of them.

- Oh, yeah Tatiana had a great design in echoes! Luthier too! I'd love to see either or both of them. Maybe Artur will show up soon, they seem to be liking SS these days. (I'm secretly hoping it's to try and generate hype for a remake!) I also really want Moulder (the boulder)!

Ohhh congrats on Saul!! <3 He is so pretty! I actually used that one free Forma soul on Mareeta. I really love her as a character and got really lucky on a Galeforce build. Not sure what kinda team / bond I will build for her.

The game was such a slog for me. Not the same slog as in FE4, but both games I loved and I felt like I was genuinely learning what the beauty of the series is! I hope you get to finish it eventually!! ^^ When they released Asbel in FEH I nearly started crying because of how precious he is haha.

- Thankfully playing it on an emulator so save states are a thing (good for arena abuse lol). I didn't find FE4 too much of a slog (probably thanks to save states, those maps are ginormous). The friend I was playing with unfortunately had turned on auto-saves in game, and ended up not being able to save Julia from the wyverns on the final map (since it auto saved he couldn't go back and save her), which we discovered makes it legitimately impossible to beat the game. I had to screen share the ending. He did eventually go back and finish it later, but redoing a whole map in that game was certainly a slog. I'd like to see Dew/Patty in FEH. (in case you hadn't noticed, I am partial to thieves class lol)

- Congrats! I'm glad he came home for you. Now kill him to give CDC4 to Brave lyn! lol (I have another friend who did that, but they have a +10 Brave lyn)

My Formas this time around all got terrible skill sets, Tanya had an ok set by the end, but I'm not sure it's good enough to want to spend $40 on her... I really wanted my Mareeta to pick up Galeforce, cus she ahd flashing blade 4 and Ninja Katana, but alas, she kept trying to get Aegis or pavise OTL Osian got Galeforce, it activated a grand 0 times in the whole tower.

Good luck to everyone pulling on the Ashera banner. I didn’t have many orbs but poked a little - didn’t get anything but a bunch of three stars. Just gonna focus on getting to spark on the next banner, since it’s rumoured to possibly have a mythic on it.

Ashera was the one mythic I've wanted since the mythics were first introduced, so of course I end up with Two Corrins and a Claude (and a random Lute along the way where there weren't any green or colourless orbs) And once again, also no Freyja cus I only saw like 4 green orbs on my way to a 10.75% pity breaker (she really hates me!). Even though I didn't get the two I most wanted from this banner, I'm pretty happy with the results, Corrin is good fodder for DC and Joint Hone Attack, and I didn't have Claude or Lute, so I'm happy to have them too. I don't pull on Leg banners unless I know I'll be happy with the pity breakers, only one I wanted to avoid this time around was Ronan.

I think this is the first VG where I have had every single one of the units. I joined team Ylgr though, there was no contest. These units are so random, and the theme is really ???

Against my better judgement I poked the banner again, got Ashera (+HP -def) which I am super happy about following last months legendary debacle. Nothing really in the bank for next months banner but hoping i can save enough to get the spark before it disappears.

ALSO Angry Pineapple is getting his refine next month, I’m so excited. I hope it’s good - I’ve been holding off inheriting things on to him just in case but the dream is some form of close counter a la Boey.

Congrats on Ashera! Her animation is bonkers, haha. And she is very pretty which was a given haha. She looks like a greaat unit for AR but I couldn't care less about it. First I was super thrilled for a mode where you could create maps where people could fight you in, but it turned into suuuch a convoluted mess for me. All these traps, all this text, all these Edelgards! (As I am writing this: I pulled on the re-run wedding banner and got +Atk F!Edelgard on my free pull and I don't even know what to say hahahah)
