I hav e a friend from Wales, that I met on neo at least. I bet there are some beautiful places there. London is very busy, but I love how much there is to see and do there. ;)

That's a good point - I've not had to wear a mask for longer than it took to have my hair cut (I've still not ventured into shops since the pandemic started!), but I can imagine it can get a bit challenging especially on a hot day ;) But yeah, I'd definitely rather stick it out with the mask than have a higher risk of catching the virus!

It was defintely worse during the warm summer days. :) I am just glad I have not had to wear it for a whole day like many people have. :)

coming from a pretty grotty part of England on the train (that bit definitely isn't the most scenic!) Wales was really green in contrast :D Admittedly the city centre we were working in over there, wasn't overly startling on how it looked, but not many city centres are :P

Had to look up the definition of grotty, learned a new word there. :D The place where I live is fairly green thankfully even tho it is not too far from the city.

admittedly it's not a word you'd hear all that often ;) Most of the city we'd gone through wasn't too terrible, but that particular bit is all buildings and train tracks, so there's not all that much to look at :P It sounds really nice where you live, and still being close to the city definitely has its advantages! :D

Back when I was in senior school, I was asked to show one of the new headteacher applicants around the school. She'd come from a school in London, and was amazed at the number of trees & amount of grass we had in the school grounds, as I think where she'd worked before was mostly concrete :P

there's a lot of regional phrases that you never hear in this part of the country, but you could get really frequently elsewhere ;) When I was in infant school there was a book that used the phrase "there's a duck" ("go and fetch that, there's a duck" - said in a kind way to a younger person, kind of like "there's a good girl") - apparently I spent ages going back through the book to find where the duck was, as it's not a phrase you hear down here! :P

It's not something you think of when you're at the school, but yeah we were lucky with all three schools (they were all within a few hundred metres of each other) all having green space :D
