A week to deliver it was not bad compared to the other place that told me 4 weeks for the one I wanted (that were on sale). I did not see myself being without a washer for so long!

That complicats things even more I bet. :) There are some that you open from the top I guess, rather than a door in the front.

nods we used to have a top-loading machine ages ago, but not being overly tall, the front loading ones are a lot easier to get everything back out from! Also, we use the top of the washing machine for houseplants laughs

it works perfectly :d And she should definitely be a character ;) 😇 It took almost all day, but I've finally got the frog pieces cut out :d I've got two at 150% and two at 100% sizing - assuming I get it right when I sew them, the ones with the pink glow in the dark fabric paint on the eyes have the fur pile running in the opposite direction on the belly pieces, in the hope it'll look like a different shade of green ;) The other two have the pile running in the 'right' direction so I can hopefully show the difference between them in the end ;) ....and that still leaves me just under half a metre of fabric so I'll have to find something else to sew as well.... unless I made a 200% sized frog just for fun :P

My dad said they probably do that with stuff on sale, hoping to get people inside the doors and sell them something more expensive intead. :P

that could well be the case! I know one shop in the city centre has items that are listed on their website as 'ex display stock' (so it's been on the shop floor for ages), but they're still listed as 6-8 weeks for delivery! o.O

I had to go to the post office, but forgot my wallet so had to had dad come and bring it to me. Then wait in the long line, then go to Hobby Lobby to find a size 4 knitting needles that weren't metal. But they stopped carrying the ones I wanted, so I went to Michaels but it was a bust. I also had to go to the chemist for my allergy meds. Then to a take-away as time was running out. Once I got home, I ate, then showered and left with Dad to go get our Sam's and Petsmart order in Macon (30 mins away) but we hit a traffic jam on the way home and didn't get back till 4, I'm knackered. I ordered some knitting needles from Amazon.

I'll take a photo of the head pieces so far, so you can see them ;) I think I'll sew up the four I've done so far, then I'll print off the pattern at 200% and see if I've got enough fabric left to make a super-sized one ;) If not, then I'll have to think of a plan B to use up the rest of the fabric ;)

Oops on forgetting your wallet, but at least your Dad was able to come with it so you didn't have to go all the way back home for it! I've done that before though, and you feel a complete prat when you realise! 😊 That's a shame on the needles, but hopefully the ones from Amazon will work for you - are those bamboo ones then? Have you got a quieter day today to compensate for squashing so much into yesterday? ;)

That does sound like a long day! Donating them is the plan yes. :)

They use all sorts of tricks to get us to buy what they want.. manipulate stock/prizes etc.. especially true here for electronics, washing machines etc.

A ray could work - in fact, I think the person who did the frog pattern has also done a free ray pattern as well, so I could do that one maybe :D

That is a major disadvantage, especially when certain ones seem to be quite rough right from the beginning (some of my bamboo ones are really smooth, others feel a load rougher) - it seems to be random from the ones I've had o.O But those bendy plastic ones sound really neat :d I went off plastic after I snapped the pointy end off mine while I was knitting (I think my tension was too tight 😊) ;)

yeah that's what I've found too. Lol my plastic ones broke the other day (with out any extra tension) which is why I bought a circular version of those I just showed you. They are premium ones and a bit expensive but so far the circulars are working well ^.^

Yup, it is all about profit margins, even it if sometimes involves some not so ethical practices. At least my washer is on its way now, was just on the phone. I guess I will be doing laundry today. :P

I've got the ray pattern printed off ready to do, but I'm going to be good and get the frogs done first ;) The applique stitching for the eyes & nostrils is what's taking the most time :P But, I did manage to get the first frog finished today :D (drag these to the address bar to see them full size) :D ....that is green fabric, although for some reason my phone's making it look grey o.O

It's almost like the basic plastic ones are made so they snap eventually.... then they can entice you to buy new needles! :P That definitely sounds good with the circular ones though :D

Yay for the washer being on its way, although that's not so 'yay' in having to get the laundry done! :P Hopefully it turned up ok, and they got it all plumbed in for you ;)

Thanks :D The smaller frogs will probably be more challenging as the pieces are going to be quite fiddly to sew in places, but I'm hoping once I've got the other large frog sewn that I'll know what I'm doing without needing to stare at the instructions quite so much by that point! :P

well, there's actually three birthdays plus Father's Day all in the space of about 8 days o.O but thankfully only one of those needs presents on Subeta as well :P

hehe this is the 150% frog (well, one of the two) so I'm pleased I'm not making a 200% one as well! 😇 The designer who made the pattern obviously likes larger plushies as that Manta Ray pattern is a lot bigger than the sting rays I've made from someone else's pattern before ;)
