I’m so, so sorry to hear about both of your kitties!! It is so very hard to lose our fur babies!! :( I have dealt with so much loss of cats over the years, it never gets any easier. As many of you know, I am the person who feeds, gets vaccines for, and spay/neuter all of the feral cats in our neighborhood. I do this all out of pocket, this is why I’m so poor! Lol Anyway, I am now up to 20 of the feral cats that are now like my own pets because they are now not afraid of us. All of them come in the house at times :) I have 4 more to get everything they need done, then hopefully I can work on the mama and her 4 kittens that she had under our house. I thought I only needed to do the 3 and I was done... NOPE!! I sure wish some of my neighbors would help! We live in a rural area, honestly, I’m not sure I’ll EVER be done!! Doing all of this gives my life purpose, don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have them. Believe it or not, I am actually a dog person! Lol how adorable that your hubby taught you kitty tricks <3 We have a couple of cats who play fetch and, one that plays dead :)

My sister does that as well! She takes kitties to get them fixed. There is a program here called catch and release where you can pick up strays in your area and have them spayed or neutered for $10 and they also give them a shot or two. Its really nice! She feeds the strays as well haha. I live in an apartment or if be doing the same

I have tried the TNR programs, I never got a call back, that’s why I just do it myself. I was also told that they probably wouldn’t do ALL of the cats because it’s just to many :( yay, I’m happy to hear of another one of us that help the kitties :) I’m thankful for your sister! <3 my daughter and I both have spent thousands of dollars on vet bills. I’ve lost track of the food costs!! Lol

thank you! I just got a nice condolence card in the mail from my vet's office today. We packed up the litter boxes and collected the cans of food to donate. That kind of made my break down and cry a bit. I don't know know if I will have a cat again at some point in the future. I'll see - Maybe I will foster. We had 6 cats at one point, but just Jake for the last 3 years now. That's so nice that you take care of so many feral cats. Are there any rescue groups in the area that might be able to help fund you? The rescue I'm involved with helps some individual caretakers with the spaying/neutering.

I'm on Ohio, they won't do a ton of cats at once but I think they take 1-2 per visit and you have to schedule them, I think sometimes it takes 2-3 months to be seen depending on how full they are. She's done it for about 5 cats so far.

- So so so sorry to read about Jake. It looks like you did everything you possibly could for him and as you say, he did have a lovely long life with his canine brothers. Losing a pet for me is always devastating. Like you, I've promised myself that I won't have another, but I always break. I have both dogs and cats and I love the balance of their different personalities. Want to mention that Jake was indeed a stunning looking fellow! :) :)

the incident with the maggots made me laugh!!! I can just imagine the expression on your face when you saw those little darlings!! What a scene!! So funny.

Also and Yes I'm still doing the quests but they are so tedious!! It's such a relief to get through them. I don't want more pets at the moment because I think I'd need 7 or something because I'm neurotic and want them all aligned straight. I really like the gold border over the blue one, so I must press on with it. I also don't need the jacket because I also already have it.....I don't get anxious for these type of events but I do in ones that they've had before. I'm always the person left behind, relying on the genius of others.

- I'm just coming out of winter, which has been the coldest I can remember for many years, but your description makes me absolutely dread the summer. It can be so debilitating. You move, you sweat and you don't get anything accomplished. Dread it!

I have true admiration for your care of cats and like you say, it is a very rewarding undertaking. And you're really a dog person after all? LOL......How are you coping with the fires? I did try my very best for him - I was so hopeful when I saw him starting to feel better and act like his old self in July and I really wondered if maybe we were going to get him well enough to live for a while longer, but it was not meant to be. Maybe someday I will open my heart up to another cat. But Jake was definitely special, so it will be hard to measure up to him. <3

Finally just go through all my quests for today. It was a struggle for sure. I spent a good part of the day cleaning my house. I have tried to do a deep clean of each room in the house over the summer. Today was the last room I needed to do- and the biggest room. I have been putting it off because it's been like 90+ degrees here and high humidity for a lot of the summer and I don't have central air so it was way too hot to do it. But today was rainy-ish and in the 70s/80s, but the humidity still wound up being high. Oh well, I'm glad I got it done and then also got my quests done. :D

Subeta is great for people who like to collect. I hoard so much stuff here. lol

Thanks for letting me know! I'm still playing AC:NH on my own. I don't have the online service, so I'm not visiting anyone yet. If I ever decide to add that, I'll look you guys up! Right now, though, I'm having so much fun on my own!

Thanks for following up! This move was a lot more chaotic that originally planned (isn't that always the case). After a very long road trip, I made it to Denver and then got the stomach flu which I've been battling with for the last 2 weeks. On top of that I'm still pretty homesick being so far form home but I've made a lot of progress setting up my new apartment. It's definitely been an adjustment but I am finally settling in and liking the city so far. I only know one person here and it's tough to meet new people when you're supposed to avoid people because of Covid. I'm trying to focus on getting onto a routine and exploring. There are so many fantastic restaurants in the city and I can't wait to try out as many as possible.

How have you been? I've been out of the loop the last couple weeks and I'm trying to catch up on all the posts.

I signed up on discord and downloaded the app for my desktop. I got an error the first day and I see the app disappeared from my computer. Not sure what I did. I have windows 10 and it looked liked it downloaded 3 parts for the app.

Me either, time flies! Soon it'll be November by the blink of an eye. My daugter is already 4 months old and man time flew.
