Pagination might be a good way to curb the slowdown of loading so many items. I don't know the right answer regarding TC space. Maybe it wouldn't need to be dealt with if capping the wardrobe alone fixes the main issue.

Pagination for everything!!!!! It works well for WLs!! It would help so much for the gift centre
As long as pagination was only on the sorting screen, that could possibly work. It would make sorting a nightmare if there's too many pages though so it would really just depend. After loading a TC once I don't really see any lag with it the rest of the day while sorting it with the changes to that system (click to sort is actually super fast/easy even with my huge TCs) but I don't know how much that affects the servers.
Pagination on pet profiles would ruin the feature, in my opinion. Those long, seamless TCs are part of what gives Subeta's system its uniqueness.
hh big agree q v q like i think speculating and coming up with ideas is def a good thing!! but let's be real nobody here knows what goes on backstage and we're all kinda just...... assuming
i think a survey would be a good idea. like a google survey with multiple questions both about users (i.e. how did you find subeta, how long have you been playing, how active are you), about the site itself (i.e. what are your favourite parts of the site), how they feel about possible changes, what they don't like or want to see improved...... like just a good survey to see what the general attitude is and what people want
i think a google survey would be better than just subeta polls because you can see trends and also the graphs the graphs the nice
Would love to do a survey. Figure out more of the community's likes/dislikes, what we want to see focused on, etc.

Prefacing this by saying if it'll save the site, I understand that this will have to happen. And I haven't had a chance to read every post on this thread but I know I'm probably in the minority here.
But as a very long term user (started in 2004) one of the bigger reasons I come back, and play, and that I'm so goddamn proud of my account is the unique names and old IDs I've been able to collect. Some are from friends who no longer play; some involved pound searching and staking out accounts for literal years.
I absolutely hate the idea that any new user could use the names I've worked hard for and treasure, with no effort attached. Their value for me is tied to their uniqueness. And I know we'd still have IDs, but that doesn't change how much I hate it.
When I joined Neopets as a child in the year 2000, every good name was taken so I experimented with numbers and substitutes for ages before finding names which worked; and I loved those pets because they were mine and I'd chosen them. I still remember them now.
I know I'm out of touch with how other sites work now, and that this change is likely to go ahead anyway, but I wanted to say this anyway.
I'm also from Neopets, but I am 100% okay with getting rid of the "unique" names for pets. There have been so many names I want for my pets and I can't get them because I wasn't quick enough or they are owned by another player.
A few of my pets I have gotten from name clearings and I was super excited to get them, but everyone deserves to have the name they want. There are probably a zillion people that share our own names, but we are all very different. So, I welcome the change.

I'd die for Unique Pet Names honestly, even having been one of the people who've camped out for names
I do however, rankle at the idea of the "Wardrobe Cap" I've been seeing mentioned here and there in this thread, one of the major goals I've had on this site has been trying to collect ALL the non-CW wearables and if there's a cap to wardrobe items then what's the point?
Ive been on and off for so many years now, from MY experience these are things that would help ME stay and spend all my money...
Im sorry, sometimes im super bored on here... even after all the quests, all the fixing and fluffing around , all the events... sometimes im just too bored, ready for the next event... if i had something to keep me here everyday i would ,.... and maybe some people feel the same way too. Others just come on here for there one hour every 3 days enjoyment that they get from the site.
The community is dry..... i remember when i used to post in the advertising part and i would get many notifications...now it takes days to sell my good things. Its lonely lol!
CWs are so intimidating..and they arent as expensive as they seem. I just got into CWs not too long ago and i fell in love with it. However at first it was extremely frustrating understanding everything and i felt like the CW community needs more people to interact and trade with. Dont ask me how, im too sleepy to think about it.
I love the pet community... i dont care about the names, honestly i cant help but eyeroll at the snobbyness of the name hoarding community... but i do love having pets and i find that they are just way too expensive!! ive spent my share of money on them but honestly at this point they are even more expensive then CWs. I refuse to pay 30$ for two pets...thats insane. I think a good cap is fine, like maybe 100 pets or something , when pets no longer fit on the profile i guess lol!! But the price of pets are deterring me from spending real monies on them.
Subeta you are loosing yourself in every community .. and im trying to hard to not slip along with everyone.
I try to get joy from every part of subeta...this is my distraction from the constant anxiety in my head. I love this site so much... i have money for you guys but i get bored guys, sometimes theres no one to even talk to on here....
Cleared by staff - maximum height is 325px.
Having user volunteers tag items (for tiered SP / item rewards?) is a great idea. I'd do it with or without rewards tbh
I agree completely with having items with different uses be tagged by volunteer users. At least for wearables, there are a few threads that organize CWs or other types of items into categories, so the staff could use those to generate a list of tags. For minions, SubetaLodge does have that minion matcher that could be used, that seems to match pets/minions based on color, species, etc.
god i feel like we had an item tagging thing in like 2012/2013? and there were even achievements for tagging items??
please tell me this was a real thing and not just a fever dream lmao
I remember the minion tagging inb4 the minion zoo, maybe there was another tagging attempt for other things? I don't remember but I wouldn't disagrif someone said there was.
.... Either way I'm down for trying it again for realsies. I'm the person who can play solitaire four hours straight on a flight, tedious repetition is my jam.
I suggest following a pattern similar to POI agreements for Niantic Wayfarer. After [x amount] of users categorize an item in the same way (ie: pink hat, yellow scarf, black wig) it gets marked as accepted and taken out of the queue. The more times different users tag items the more likely "idk looks red/purple/gray to me" pop up and skew the results.
Anyway I'm heckin' down. Clothes, minions, foods, let's do it. Sounds fun and boy howdy would it make finding stuff way easier.
Nope nope, I remember it too!
this thread has been around for a while, and a lot of the stuff here has been discussed at length. i'm very excited about how much discussion has been going on here, and am heartened to see the posts that were made by staff against this thread.
one thing i wanted to ask about, which i'm going to ping for directly (sorry if this is a bit pushy, but just curious!) - have you guys considered opening applications for volunteers and backfilling 's role approving the cw queue? (i suspect the answer is yes.) i know a lot of people who'd be stoked to volunteer and happy to help in any way they can. i know that there are a lot of things on the site that can be improved content-wise, and i, for one, would love to help create new resources for users that can be made available for new users. i also think something worth considering is paying volunteers or international staff in a csc allowance. the number of people who are still invested in the cw community just helps to highlight the number of people who are still around who could potentially contribute to making content improvements to some older parts of the site.
Subeta: I’ll just give my two cents. Here are some observations I have found: Mobile option:This option would help so much! Its a more used option, because you can travel anywhere more freely than a laptop(I dont want to bring reality, but yeah.) You want to appeal to more new ppl, “This is the way,” as the mandalorian would say. Change in rules:I’m kind of shocked this was not brought up as this is another vital thing. 1.The forums:warning system. I think it should not be warnings anymore as most users i see break this rule generally look like they just take it as a joke? I think that there should be something applied like the news just recently did. If you post something that could warrant a warning, instead staff gets rid of that post or hides it and if it continues two times suspend them from the forums or that specific forum for maybe a few weeks. 2.Blocked user makes a thread:A user should be able to make another thread of the same topic freely if said person in another similar thread has them blocked, no warnings or locks! I’m sure some users did not asked to be blocked simply because they had a certain letter in user name the other didnt like, but weird stuff happens. 3.Harassment:This is a HUGE one in my mind as this can be broken through SO MANY loopholes! If someone harasses another, “ex. User wants a certain color for an item and another user hates this idea, whatever” and user who hates starts attacking through smail. Staff tells user to just block that user and I understand that. Yet, than something else comes up! They have a group of friends who would like to, “get through” to said user. At this point I think staff should not just say just block all their “friends.” Instead they need to cut off the snakes head. No user should EVER feel nervous about coming on subeta because they know if they stay they will continue to be attacked. Staff Communication:I dislike how they choose to hide out in the background honestly. If somethings behind just tell me! Idc that its late so long that I know Its still in the running! Bad news happens, but you shouldn’t just not reply and pretend it doesn’t exist!
Re: Mobile
Oh do I have opinions. I was exclusively mobile for almost four years and without a doubt the most frustrating thing is HOVERS.
NEED SOMETHING AT THE TOP? PERISH. WANT TO DO ANYTHING IN YOUR INVENTORY OUTSIDE OF VAULT/SHOP/PET? PERISH.
You shall not know if you already have this item. You have to copy the item name, pan over, zoom in, search shops.... and THEN click on the image to open account search in new tab. Really????
My alt is to do the exact same thing with account search, which then I get to just open the search shop in a new tab incase I want to maybe buy more or maybe sell.
Also not everything is in the side widget. Tickets? Nope. Quick Stocking shops?? Noooope. I bought a note 8 for exactly two reasons: artwork & subeta. Literally 50% of the reason I bought a phone with a built in stylus, is because of subeta's important links hidden behind hovers. And yeah, I have a ton of bookmarks already. Trust me.
On that note, why do galleries default to displaying category all? It should default to category none. You know how much my phone loves to load a 4k+ gallery? Five minutes and 1gb of data later, that's how much. If I'm lucky, usually it just errors out or crashes the browser (note 8, not a new phone but not old).
Also why is sub such a data hog? I've played a lot this month (non-unique pet name excitement), and I've used 4.61gb of data via the internet.... and the only websites I look at off wifi are subeta and reddit. That's, ridiculous?
I go on a forum that does this - and nope. It makes the staff look cowardly and overly sensitive over there. Here, a visible warning would show other people what behavior is not acceptable. Also, the warnings I see staff give publicly rarely point out any one individual, often being a vague "Stay on topic, no personal attacks".
.. so what they did in the news comments about the wolf revamp was wrong?
Did they outright delete posts? Or just erase them? I genuinely don't know. I'd push for erasing the posts with [Comment removed].
Another, another site I go onto has the mods actively edit the post with things like MOD WARNING: Personal attacks not allowed and keep the initial post up, but I understand not wanting to leave up an attack.
