Happy Belated Easter everyone! Hugs and thoughts going out to everyone who is dealing with challenges facing this virus. I'm still working everyday but we have some weird jobs on a couple days because Child Life in the hospital is considered essential but with the low census they have us doing random jobs on a couple days. I hate that you can't work at home Froggy. Anyone in our healthcare system that they can have at home, they have them at home. We are a hotspot though and they want to limit the traffic in and out of the hospital. Amanda looks like your two weeks is almost up. Hope it wasn't too bad. Yeah, John is off until May 1st but his company helps file the unemployment stuff due to being union. He had to do some things but they did a lot of it. I just hope he goes back in May but it could be June here. That's just such a long time. Teacup, I hope it gets better for you soon. I know how hard this is for tons of people.

On another note, does anyone here play Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the switch? It's what John and I've been doing at night since there is no baseball on tv and all our shows are going off early. Also, I'm dancing away today on and off since I'm home on call.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and for the gifts. Sorry that I haven't thanked you personally yet, but I had a busy day yesterday and now a death in the family today, so I'm just not really focused at the moment. It wasn't from covid but certainly made worse because of the current strain in the medical system.

I'm doing ok being considered an essential as a kitchen worker making pizzas and some stuff for people that come into Casey's. I know its mostly construction people and delivery people that come in but I've seen others come in that maybe don't need to come in.

The other night had some lady just rip the tapes off the pizza warmer to get the pizza I had in there. I was just dumbfounded and I had the cashier tell her about what she did was wrong. Lady claimed she didn't see any signs. Talk about not being smart at all.

Guess Masqurade is done and I didn't get to reply to those who invited me but I've had so much stuff going on that it was kinda hard to keep track of things.

Yesterday, I managed to go out & get toilet paper (still difficult to obtain). I had ordered it online, ready for pick up... There was a huge line of people waiting to get into the store (although the longest line was at the liquor store, which is close to the store I went to). There was an option for "curb-side pick up for vehicles". I have a rollator (4 wheel walker)... so I went to the designated spot, "parked" my "vehicle", and called. I managed to get my item faster that way :D

I've been dealing with panic attacks going outside... so I took up the challenge of dressing Steampunk to go out. If people are going to look at me, at least I'll give them something fun to look at. It worked :)

OMG I love when people dress differently! I've come out of my shell more the older I get and will tell someone I love what they're wearing now! So yeah, if I was there, I totally would've given you the thumbs up and a kudos! :D

So last week I ran out of fusible interfacing. Those who don't know what that is, it's a fabric that's like a coffee filter, but it's washable and you iron it on the fabric (which makes it fusible) before you sew the rest of the mask together. It just makes a better mask that will help filter the bad stuff, plus the intent of the fabric is to help keep the material in its original shape after being washed. The stores are all sold out near me. I found a bolt on Amazon, but my debit card got hacked and the bank froze my card. So there went that option, not that it mattered, I wouldn't have gotten the fabric until May. So hubby found some on eBay with 2-day shipping. I ordered it (they take Paypal) and got it yesterday. Well, it's NOT fusible interfacing like the listing said. It was some kind of stretchy knit fabric that isn't fusible at all! So I printed off a return label and will ship it back for a refund. But don't lose hope, I was in NH and decided to run into their Walmart and lo and behold, a bolt of the stuff was still on their shelf and I got 6 yards! So I can now resume making masks!! happy dance

I'm fine. Our cases here jumped by over 300%...I'm thinking in part due to the election WI had on the 7th. People are protesting. People want jobs back. I'm still working, but my hours were cut down to 32 and they want us to take vacation too. They said that if we don't have enough vacation, we can fill out a form to go into a negative balance, but we won't get it back. It's stupid. I'm not taking forced vacation that I won't get back. I was able to go back to work because they determined there wasn't enough risk. But, now that cases jumped so much, and on the part of town I work, I'm wondering when we'll start getting affected at work.

I had a second job interview, I should find out if I'm a top candidate this week sometime crosses fingers

Otherwise, life isn't really different for me. I'm an introvert and I self-quarantine all the time lol How about you?

I spend more time playing Animal Crossing some days then I do doing anything else.. lol. It's fun, entertaining, and gives me that stress reliever I need right now <3 If you (or anyone you know) are looking to get a switch, start stalking your local game stores, target, & walmart. You can do so usually online by checking local inventory for the item - or by calling to see if they have them, some stores have no problem telling you and others can be a bit rude. The Switch is in high demand right now and there is a shortage, a lot of people have gotten the switch lite instead - the only major difference is you can only download games to the lite, you can't use the cartridges - but even those are getting harder and harder to find. The hubby has one that I got him when they first came out, then I pre-ordered mine back when the Pokemon games were released, now we're trying to hunt down a regular one for my daughter.. it's not going so well.. anywho, just a heads up for those that are thinking of getting one :) It's possible, but a pain in the behind and requires a bit of luck as well <3

I got mine for free a while ago - I do this thing where I scan my groceries and I saved my points earned for like 10 years and was able to get my switch as a reward. I've been playing Zelda Breath of the Wild for like a year now, lol. Now that we're home more, I have less time to play. Tom and I play a lot of wii golf/bowling/tennis, etc.

He bought me LoZ: Link's Awakening for Christmas, but I lost it. :( It came in such a tiny case. We think I may have thrown it out with the wrapping paper.

I was close to beating it and just lost interest :( Totally a good game though if you enjoy regular old school zelda.. Hey all, I too am having difficulty wrestling with the forums so I feel like I've missed a lot. Also I managed to break my glasses so I have to go tomorrow to get new ones which may be a bit of an adventure, but I'll be glad to see again lol.

does anyone else play stardew valley? I was addicted to it for a while, and still check in often. I'm not sure why but it's a charming game.

I've read/lurked; however, I just haven't been able to write much the past while.

Yesterday, my best friend needed help. He has a trauma related to bed bugs years ago and a resident had told him about a bed bug problem here. He hadn't been able to eat, sleep, etc. for several days. I managed to calm him down and go help him. I stayed till 3 am. Today, I was able to talk to an admin that knows the case... it was a false alert and the resident that talked to my friend is known for her problematic "conclusions" & alarmist comments. I'm glad to know the real version so I can comfort my friend. I'm also thankful that I was able to be there for him... as he has been there for me so many times.
