Hope everyone is staying safe! I'm lucky that I can work from home - I was already working from home on Mondays anyway.

Tom works in the restaurant industry too, and also had his work close down. It's a little bit harder to work at home with him here, lol, but I appreciate having him here. I set myself up in a separate room to minimize distractions.

We're a little low on some things (yes, tp, bread and milk) but have frozen things and canned goods and booze, so we should be good.

Our work isn't closing. Clients need their results. But I can definitely tell that we're going to slow way down pretty soon. We're getting less samples in each day, since most places are closing. I have a cold now :/ So far, I'm pretty sure it's just a cold, but we'll see. Started off with a scratchy throat. Our boss was walking around today asking us if we've been in contact with one of our co-workers because she's apparently pretty sick.

I actually have an interview on Monday. They only want to do phone or skype interviews because of the virus. I don't now whether to be excited or nervous that it's a phone interview. I get really nervous meeting new people, but talking over the phone is harder to gauge people's reactions to you. And I have to do the interview during work because I had limited time slots available. I think a ton of people applied for the position. It's a city job with government benefits and a huge pay raise for me. But I have the experience so I'm crossing my fingers.

I hope your coworker and you are feeling better. Good luck on the interview!

I have seasonal allergies, so I'm coughing quite a bit and sneezing a little too. No fever though, so I'm trying not to worry.

I hope you're not getting sick Mina! Take care of yourself!

Gonna go for a walk through the woods to get some fresh air before going to work. I hope you all have a great day!

Manda I hope things go well for you.

I think I still have the trade up for you to get yet.

I'm taking my mom the the Doctors office to have something done since she has a thing where she needs to visit said doctor every 8 weeks so she was called in sooner to get it done now. Hope things go well.

hey Jenn, I have a few questions for you. So my vet suggested adaptil for anxiety. Kasey shakes mad pants as soon as gets in a vehicle. Well, adaptil is shit lol. My gram tried one of those thunder vests and that didn't work either. Any tips on reducing his anxiety? Also...he is not taking to insulin well. He freaks as soon as we start. I'm pretty sure it doesn't hurt him. He doesn't yelp when we give the shot. He yelps and squirms before the shot...we've tried setting him on the counter and in the sink. They worked a few times but now it's the same thing. I tried distracting him with a treat before and he scarfs the treat so fast I can't get the shot done in time. We so the tent thing. I let and rub and pull gently on the skin before I start the tent thing. We warm the insulin in our hand or on the counter for about 15 min or so. I try to praise and make it exciting, but we get to the shot part and no matter how much I praise and pet and try to make it exciting, he's still not buying it and struggles. I feel like all I do is read about diabetes and tips on giving shots, and I'm confident in it, but it's really hard to give him shots.

Yeah, I don't think Adaptil works if the pet is super stressed. It's a pheromone that is supposed to calm them, but if they're a ball of stress, it's not going to do much. How often does he have to ride in the car? There are prescription meds you can try, but we usually reserve those for the pets that aren't responding to the OTC things and only use them when necessary. You can try the Nurture Calm collar to see if that works. Again, it's a pheromone product, and I've seen mixed results with it (works for some, not so much for others). Another natural product you can look into is Zylkene. Another thing you could try is Benadryl, but again, I've seen mixed results. It's like kids, some will get quiet, some will get hyper. It's 1mg per pound. Children's dose is 12.5mg. If none of those things work, then you may want to ask about prescription meds. But most vets want you to try the other things first before they jump into the Rx. When it comes to giving the shot, it sounds like you've tried many of the suggestions I'd have given you already lol. Is there someone there that can distract him with the treat while you give it? And by distraction- I mean hold the treat in their hand where he can sniff and lick, but can't actually eat it? The other option is to put a full meal down for him and give it while he's eating. Eating should last for at least 10 seconds lol. Long enough for you to give the shot and get out.

He's in the car at least once a week right now....vet visits. But we take him other places too. He starts shaking and panting right away and he does it the entire time. We went down to Bryant's dad's this past weekend, which is a 2 hour drive, and he was shaking/panting the entire time. I guess I'll talk to the vet about Rx, because that might be the only thing that works on him. I even tried holding him and it didn't help. As for the shots, he stops eating as soon as I try. He knows!! We're getting better. I guess it'll just be something that takes time. He nips at Bryant when he tries to give Kasey a shot. Kasey doesn't do that to me, just moves his head around a lot. He doesn't even feel the damn needle, so I'm not sure why it's so scary :( But he's doing so much better with the insulin now. It's too bad they can't connect that.

Well, WI is shutting down everything except non-essentials. I still get to work. My job is considered essential. My interview was today. I don't think I did very well. It's a new position that was created for the city, and I would basically be building a lab to process water samples/microbial samples. It sounds amazing. But I don't think I'm going to be what they're looking for. Oh well, I'll find out in a week or so if I get a second interview.

Poor thing. I'm sure he'll figure it out someday that it's for the best! We have a client that's been coming to us for a long time now. Her dog needs allergy shots once a month and every time she squeals like we're chopping off a toe! It's not even the poke that makes her squeal, it's the anticipation! She can't give the shots because she's elderly so we do it for her. Just a month ago she became diabetic. All of us at the hospital were like OMG, what is she going to do? We told her we can do the morning shots, but she'd have to find someone to do the evening shots... if she's successful even. Well she said she had a friend that could do it. We didn't believe her, but I guess her friend figured out if she puts the dog in her lap, mom gives the treat while she gets the shot, she's good! So now in the morning, we do the same thing. Sit her in someone's lap while another person holds the treat in front of her and they give the shot. Magic. LMAO! Anyway, I hope you figure out what makes him tick and not tock. And don't give up on the interview! You never know what other interviews they will have. You could be the one they're looking for! fingers crossed

I finally got that plushie. Of course the site thinks the page refreshed so I didn't get to see its bought page in all its glory. But at least I have that out of the way just before I need to go to work.

I'm thinking of getting a steamwork bumbus and demi at some point, but those keys require a lot of trinkets! And I've also Wish Listed other Steamworks Menagerie items for the TC of a different pet....

I'm thinking that in order to afford everything: -I'll have to cut my losses and save up for an MC slot in case someone puts either steamwork pet up for adoption

-Save up to just buy the keys from user shops

-Wait till next year to host a dancing contest to get all the trinkets I want.

Thanks for all the dances. I haven't been able to be on much. Now that everyone is figuring out how to do virtual meetings I got a heck of a lot busier (much of it trying to figure out all the different platforms that people are doing virtual meetings on) but hopefully I can get my dancing shoes dirty this weekend!

good luck getting the pets you're after! it seems like everyone is either twiddling their thumbs (my hubby) or working like crazy (me) lol. Although my hours are getting cut down soon because they can't sustain the business with us working full-time right now. ugh It's a very stressful time indeed.

Also, that's an extra for me if anyone needs one and wants to trade for tokens. I believe it was 500. If not, I'm glad to keep it too, lol.

Edit: Oops, I didn't realize that your ping was so recent, Jenn. Still, maybe someone will see this who needs the book.

And, sorry to hear about your work and all the stress, Jenn. I hope they figure out the best way through all of this.
