nods I always feel self conscious when I try speaking a foreign language, so I do prefer to just be able to learn to read and write it laughs We always used to cheat in German classes.... if there was something we didn't know the word for, we'd just say it in English and add "er" on the end to make it sound more German.... our teacher didn't think it was all that amusing though 😇

thanks :D I finally got as far as doing some sewing yesterday - got the jeans I'd started in June (or earlier :P) hemmed with bias binding (they were a bit too short to hem properly 😊), added more velcro to that glow-in-the-dark hat, and made Mum a small thing she'd been rabbiting on about buying .... can't say what that is, as that may or may not end up in Someone's Christmas presents this year 😇

yeah I gave up completely on getting the hang of the grammar - as long as I got the words right I figured whoever I was talking to could figure out the gist of what I was saying 😇

I think in the end the teacher had to take them back out from the shop and remind them they were not meant to be speaking English :P

Ah, thanks so much! Yea I hardly ever wear purple so I thought I'd give it a whirl. :D I always dislike when the ToT items are both a food and a wearable, because then it means I need them twice. :P lol I also need all the books, I have only gotten lucky and found 1 of the new ToT books!

I agree it is much much easier to figure out who is in what group. I can even just do it on my own amongst my own friend groups without resorting to ToTing a lot of strangers. :D Though it is strange that an inordinate amount of my friend seem to all have joined in the month of April! :P Crazy, right?! Have you noticed anything like that with your friends?

BTW I love all your hands and the theme of your new HA, it is so clever! :D

We were on a schooltrip for our english class (and social studies) during 11th grade. We were allowed to speak english.. but I decided to test my german some at least and ordered food and stuff in german. At least they understood what I wanted. lol

I tried reading the German neoboards before - I couldn't understand any of it, because they were all using more casual phrasing than I'd learnt! o.O

That's awesome :D I never actually went to France or Germany.... which is why learning those languages just felt like unnecessary torture laughs
