if only I could find some fabric like that which wasn't ridiculously expensive! But so far all the licensed character fabric I've come across has been way pricier than just buying the pj bottoms in a shop :P David's pj bottoms sound like they were really neat though :D

hehe have you ever known a dragon to be kind and friendly? 😇

Especially when nobody is watching as you're knitting / sewing, and they just see the supplies to start with, then the (almost) finished item ;)

I don't mind the requests in general, but it's when someone comes along and says "One of those things you made before would make a nice gift for so-and-so" then you realise that she actually needs to post the gift in three days time and expects it to be made by then (as of course you didn't keep a spare one of whatever you'd made previously just on the off-chance that you might need it in the future)!

I really do! my stress level is through the roof. Hope you have fun. Thus summer XD it comes out in July. I totally want it. I never got to play it.

-sighs- and the saga continues. I got my new glasses today and I didn't notice how it was hurting until they were on for 3 hours and then my nose was killing me. I weighed them and they weight 2 times as much as the returned pair. I called and complained that the high index lenses shouldve made them lighter and finally got the sales manager who said with my mild rx they wouldn't do that and I was miss informed. He also told me that the bridge might not be distributing the weight correctly and that might be my problem. So I will be getting an apt with him next week and we'll be looking at ways to solve this and make me happy. And yes, they'll be refunding the cost of both mine and mum's high index lenses.

yeah I've been noticing that too :/ It's a shame. That could've been a fun one to make. Yes :P

maybe one day I'll try drawing some characters on some plain fabric and see if I can make my own style fabric to make something for him ;) I know they won't be "official" ones, but they'd certainly be unique!

....and where did you come across this friendly dragon?! :P

Yup, it def. helps if they make the timeframe realistic, or even dont give you a "deadline". ;) No matter how good you are at sewing or knitting, things are gonna take some time and you are gonna need the right materials. :)

That is annoying with the glasses. >__< Hope things will get properly sorted at the next appointment and the stress level goes down a bit soon.

I started playing it on the wii, but hated the forced motion controls. It never worked for me, kept telling me I needed to recalibrate my controller and I gave up eventually. So I have been wanting to play it since with button controlls. In July I will finally be able to! 10 year old wish fulfilled. I was squelling and bouncing in my couch as I watched. rofl

or there's that "almost finished" disaster where you either run out of yarn / fabric for the last bit, or accidentally cut a hole in the fabric as you're trimming the threads - those can add in a ridiculous amount of extra time needed to fix the problems! ;)

Its always so nervewrecking when you are not sure if you will have enough yarn left to finish a project. O_O Thankfully that has never happened to me before tho. :)

I tend to end up with "thread chicken" where there's only a very tiny amount of thread left on the reel at the end of the hemming, but thankfully I've not run out of fabric for a project more than once ;) I tend to cheat with some projects though - for jeans I use a different fabric on the inside of the waistband, and also use some thinner patterned fabric for the front pockets, so that saves quite a bit of denim! ;)

I have never heard the expression thread chicken before, that one is new to me. :) You done well then if you have never run out of fabric. :D

I reckon using some different patterns adds ome life and style to the jeans too. ;)

hehe it'd be very much like knitting with a really tiny amount of yarn to try and finish a project ;) One advantage on the fabric though, is that you'd know before you start sewing if you had enough fabric - unless you went wrong and had to cut another piece of fabric to use instead!

nods it makes them a lot more interesting to look at, and also makes them totally different to store-bought jeans :d

that could be cool :D ooh pretty ha :D he lives here with me :P

yeah :/. I hope so too. Am utterly frustrated. yeah the option is best for me. I do feel a little annoyed that you have to be right handed for the sword in this new version... :/ might be playing with the controllers lol and not the motion.

I'd need a lot of practise at drawing those characters first though! :P Just thinking I could make him a shirt from plain white polycotton and draw the characters on there.... maybe laughs

Thanks :D Niamh was bored with her outfits, so I thought a HA-less one would be a good option ;)

Now that would explain why I've never come across a dragon like that before! :P

Hopefully you will be able to play comfortably with button controls if you decide to get the game. :) I know breath of the wild 2 is not coming out for a long while yet.

That does sound nicer than having to try to figure out how much yarn you are gonna need for the project. Having to factor in size, tension, how many meter yarn is in the skein etc.

Exactly :D You end up with something unique, which is kinda cool. :)

If the pattern doesn't specify the amount of fabric you need, you can also just lay out the pattern pieces and measure how much space they take up (I've done that a few times when I wanted to see if I could squash it onto a smaller amount than was specified) ;) I always hated trying to work out how many balls of yarn a knitting project would take though!

Almost like solving a puzzle. ;) But a good way to go about it sounds like. :D

Not all patterns tell you how much yarn you approx need either. o-o That is always fun. lol

Lol I suppose :P Or maybe print them and iron them on? Understandable. Yes, lol he’s on my shoulder right now. Good dragon.

that’s my hope! I’ve struggled getting into the first one. It’s cool but I get a bit lost I admit. Going to Atl tomorrow to get this glasses situation sorted.

I never got that far into it, is the newest zelda I have yet not completed I believe.

Hope all goes well with the glasses. :)

and having said that, the pattern I've got in mind to make for Dad does specify the amount of fabric, but the fabric I want to use is considerably narrower! So I'm going to have to print the pattern out and lay it out to measure how much fabric I would actually need :K

I don't understand how knitting pattern designers just seem to assume that you'd know how much yarn you'd need without them actually telling you!

that's a thought - I might have a look at print/iron stuff at some point (and check it works with my printer!). The advantage to drawing it is that I've got those fabric markers you got me, so I'm one step ahead on being able to try that ;) :D

laughs he must be a well behaved dragon to sit on your shoulder and not grumble! What's he called? :P

:hands you a big bag of patience for your project* Hoping I will get some in return for my sweater. lol

:nods: Its def. weird! At least they add it if you are knitting a sweater. :P It can be tricky tho, if you want to use a different yarn than the recommended one.
