To be fair, uploading and posting them can be a bit of a hassle.

Bless, still a youngin. ❤

now that would be hilarious! :D ....although sometimes he just starts chirping loudly and doing a real 'budgie rant' shout when he thinks his breakfast has been forgotten :P

sits and admires your HA that looks purrfect today ;) oooo and speaking of perfect, that nautical wreath is amazing! 😮 It goes really well with the new season look for the lantern too :D And those two calendars look incredible :D You did a brilliant job with making the halloween one look suitably spooky :D

Awww Annie looks really sweet :D Has she been able to meet the other cats yet, or are you still keeping them apart for now?

hehe it'd be a nightmare if we ever have to move house!! 😊 :P Yeah, I think Mum's hoping to be there when they have their instruction session, as she wants to make sure she knows how to use everything as well ;) The only thing I'm wondering about is how Gran will get on doing Grandad's porridge on Thursday morning, as that'll be the first time she'd used an electric hob for years (literally the last time she used an electric hob was when she was working as a cook.... that was over 60 years ago!) ;) I think Mum's planning on making their sandwiches here for Wednesday, so they don't have to use their kitchen on moving day at all (well, after breakfast at least :P).... and come to think of it, I probably should remind her about that (we've got reminder lists everywhere at the moment)!

I bet that works just as well for him. ;) Pusur always have access to food, so he doesnt really beg for food. Some times he will meow really loudly when I am in the kitchen, but not usually. :)

usually it gets Mum's attention! Sparky has seed in the hopper all the time, but if it's not been topped up (and the husks removed from the top) that morning, he makes it known ;)

However Sparky is really out of sorts at the moment - last week he was really unsettled and moving from perch to perch like a crazy thing (he's normally really chilled and laid back, unless I blow my nose near him.... for some reason, he really doesn't like that!), then he barely ate for a couple of days. The next evening he was on the seed hopper eating for about 3 or 4 hours during the evening, and he's been asleep most of the days since then. Today he's chirping more, but he still doesn't seem 'right'....

I would always blow into their food to check if they actually had food, or if it was just empty "shells". lol They are light enough to move when you blow on them, but the good food willl stay inn.

Sorry to hear that Sparky hasnt quite been himself. :( Hope he perks up! Is it possible to call a vet? Or are they not good with budgies? hugs

yeah, we just blow off the husks and add fresh seed to the top (and tip out the hopper every couple of weeks, so the seed on the bottom gets rotated back to the top again) ;)

The nearest avian vet is about 14 miles away, so that's not really an option (the vet we used to go to, has changed into a cat clinic). Some vets are doing online consultations, but I have no idea how much use that'd be as really I would've thought they'd need to handle him (he's not finger tame, so I can't pick him up). There is another vet on the opposite side of town, but although they're a small animal specialist, they don't specialise in birds. ....who would've thought that a bird would be so complicated to find a vet for?!

it really can be yeah she's tiny but has grown. She's a sweet little kitten but she wants out of the room now and we're trying to do that for her.

thank you :) Nimah needs to change lol I got a whiff of her :P thank you :) I had fun making it for sure :D aww thanks. I am pleased with the results.

yes she has. She and Maya play a lot together. Lucy doesn't seem interested in her at all but Amelia also seems to like playing with her. We're working into getting her into the the other rooms, which means making dad's office safe--and finally forcing him to unpack! So yesterday I spent a lot of time online ordering him some furniture to solve some of his problems. good luck for them tomorrow. hopefully it goes well and the stress can calm down

They do grow wayyy to fast. lol She is courious about what is out there. :) I am sure it will be fine, a little bit at the time. :)

That is true, most vets are more used to cats and dogs. >_< There might be some budgie gropus on fb where you can ask for advice? fingers and toes crossed he will get better soon

Niamh says how dare you - that's eau de wardrobe (she put some mothballs in with her clothes last month) :P

That's sweet that Annie and Maya play, and also that Amelia plays with her too! Hopefully your dad can get on and unpack his office so there's nothing that she can get up against that she shouldn't do ;)

I did ask a vet friend for advice, but she specialises in cats so she isn't all that clued up on budgie oddities! But I hadn't thought of budgie groups on facebook - I'll see what I can find in the morning :)

Hope you can get some good advice for Sparky. squishes

Of course, wouldnt want her to hurt self. ❤ I have always let my kittens roam about freely, except for Pusur and his brother, they stayed in the bathroom for a bit before introducing them to the other cats. :)

apparently Niamh didn't want a rumour going around that she was 'hummy' :P although she isn't overly convinced that these shorts go with the top

I guess he doesn't see much point in unboxing stuff until he needs to actually use whatever's in there? ;)

I haven't had much luck on facebook groups, but I came across a couple of forums I'd been to years ago and forgot all about ;) Unfortunately those forums have rules on there to not give any advice for things like that, and their blanket response is "take them to a vet" (I guess they don't want to risk anyone getting into trouble for advising something that might be detrimental).

Yeah, I reckon take them to the vet is the safest answer. Shame its easier said then done! Its never nice when they are not quite themselves. ❤

that's very true! Mum's never been keen to take the budgies to the vet - apparently when she took Sid (he'd only been with us for a couple of months before he had to go to the vet), he was flying around the room (he's sneaked out while the vet was trying to catch him in the cage), the vet caught him in a blanket and then explained that sometimes the stress of being handled can mean the budgie just dies as they're being held.... Sid was fine, but it did nothing for Mum's confidence!

Been busy today. Got my new wrist brace in the mail. My poor wrist has been in so much pain that I needed to get something more to calm it down. it's already feeling better I think. It's either arthritis (which isn't out of the possibility considering its an old injury with surgery.) or carpel tunnel. So I found a brace recommended :)

I used the new found calmness to build the exercise bike today which took less time than I honestly expected. I also got my new Switch game in the mail today. Just Dance 2021. I danced to two songs and it was a lot of fun. I'm a little (okay a lot) on the puffing and winded side but I enjoyed it. Did warm up and cool down as well. Now I can try knitting with this brace and seeing if it'll calm enough to do it lol.

Lene: we normally wouldn't pass the 2 weeks but there's a huge safety issue in dad's office that's a problem for the grown cats so we needa get it done first. PLus this gives Dad the prod to have to get it done which, lets face it, is over due.

Paddy: haha well she looks cute now too :D Pretty much. I mean there's some furniture he never built that he has had in box for 10+ years. I mean the fact we've been in the house for a year just shows how slow he is when he's got over 20 boxes piled up undone. It's... needed to be done already.

I am glad the brace seems to be working for you. hugs And that you had fun with your new game. :D I saw my nephews and nieces play it, they had a blast. lol I am still knitting my sweater, had to start over a few times due to wrong tension. So annoying! But I kinda want it to fit me once its done. :P

I totally get that, it needs to be safe for her first. ^_^

Had my first appointment with my new therapist today, that was fun. :P Went okay tho. Gonna relax the rest of the day mostly.

That is scary! :( Must make it more difficult to treat them. hugs How is he doing now? :)

I'm pleased the brace seems to be working :D Hopefully that'll give your wrist the rest it needs so it isn't quite so grumbly!

That's great going getting the bike set up! And Just Dance sounds like a great game :D :D

hehe she insisted I bought some clothes for her - apparently most of her clothes were "old" :P Whoa, well in that case, he really either needs to get on with it, or just get rid of it seeing as he hasn't needed to use it in that long!

Mum managed to clear space around the tv today for Gran & Grandad, but I don't know if she's found the box with the extension lead so at the moment the tv still can't be plugged in! The removal men labelled up the boxes, but used shorthand to label them: one box says "C & G" which apparently is "china and glassware" .... Mum reckons labelling it by room would've made things easier! ;)

Sparky was eager for breakfast this morning and Mum moved his mirror toy away from the perch to see if it made any difference (mainly to see if he needed to cuddle it for comfort, or if he was just getting too cosy snuggling up against it). He was quite chirpy when Dad was washing the floor, and we had a whistle and one word from him which is a load more than he's done in the last week or so. Of course now he's sound asleep again, cuddling up to the other toy in the cage, but although he's still not "right", I'm hoping that he's improving a little. Mum was on about taking the mirror out on Sunday (she doesn't want to do that if she's not going to be in the house to check how he's getting on), so we'll see how he gets on with a different toy in there!

It sounds like a good sign that he is chirping, hope things keep improving. Him snuggling up for a budgie nap sounds so cute! Hope changing up the toys helps too! fingers and toes crossed :)
