I thought the amount of items in my shop was low compared to how many I restocked, and usually I have more sales immediately after restocking than I have lately. I imagine it's from disappearing items and there's absolutely no possible way to know what items were lost at this point.

It's not a simple "file a ticket saying what items you need compensated for." Users have no way of going back to see what was lost. That's gonna be a staff situation, and it's unlikely they can check the losses of literally every active user over the last week or so.

The situation is even worse now since most people have GA activated for the quest a thon which gives them the ability to quick stock AND leads them to have tons more items to stock than non-regular or non GA questers.

Long story short, someone will have to come up with a better actual solution.

If your pages have been loading successfully, then whatever you did succeeded so you don't have to worry about losing items without knowing. There would be an error at the least to prompt you to check.

In cases where we cannot determine exactly what was lost, or if it was a large number of items via quickstock or the like, the UAs attempt to reimburse approximate value, erring on the side of giving too much reimbursement rather than too little. This is handled on a case-by-case basis via tickets.

I've let know that some users are still experiencing 5XX errors even today, and before the DO outage. I haven't noticed general site lag, so I wonder if the remaining issue is only happening with specific pages that are under extra strain, or there are specific bottlenecks to tease out. We will look at our analytic tools and see what we can find. Thank you all for the reports and for sticking with us as we figure this out. <3

so should I make a ticket then? Cause I have had several instances where I had an error page multiple times while trying to restock and then my items were gone afterward. I just assumed they stocked correctly, or something, but I can't know for sure? I definitely don't know what all has gone missing but I really don't want to have to just suck it up and just deal with the loss of who knows how many items? =/

I haven't been following these reports but I just noticed discussion of these 5XX (504?) errors and I've been getting them consistently while trying to quickstock to my shop for the last several days. Just now, within the last few minutes, I got a 5XX error while trying to move one full page of unpriced items from my shop Critical Mass (a very full shop, over 2,000 items) to my other shop Supercritical (not very full, between 500-1,000 items) and another 5XX error while quickstocking 43 items from my inventory to Supercritical. I'm not noticing any change here from my experience over the last week or so (which is about as long as I've been quickstocking that many items, since I've only been vending and having a lot of stuff in my inventory during the quest-a-thon). Normally I quickstock my quest loot after each set of quests so there isn't that much. If I have more than 40-50 items in my inventory at a time I've been getting the error while quickstocking.

I have no idea if anything has been lost; I've assumed that everything got moved eventually with enough attempts or refreshes or whatever. =X

I know I had a /lot/ of quick stocks fail and presumably a lot of items lost (I noticed a few but just gave up checking). Guess I won’t be filing any tickets, but it’s still a shame.

thanks for the update! luckily i haven't used quickstock except for adding plushies/beanbags direct to collections, and that seems to be working fine - no eaten items and no timeouts

I kept getting the 502s or whatever when quickstocking but I didn't even think that I might've been losing items. :( There's no way I could figure out what since I was vending and quickstocking.

I know it says in the first post you don't have to report issues with loading the advertising forum, but I've tried refreshing it 15+ times (including several hard refreshes) and the page just stays completely blank for me.. not even any 5xx errors, just.. nothing at all..

[edit] ok I tried one (1) more time right after posting this and suddenly a regular refresh did do the trick.. but I still think that was a ridiculous amount of refreshes needed to get a page to load.. has whatever's going on with that page gotten worse for anyone else?

Update on lag/errors this week:

<p>When activity on the site picks up (especially logged activity - so things like completing quests and purchasing items) we get a ton more activities being sent to the logging service, and it got backed up.</p>
<p>We have set up a queue that processes the logs in bulk actions, which should prevent this from happening again in the future.

Also - we hear you on the frustration caused by these incidents, and how frustrating it is to not even know if you lost items or how many you might have lost to these problems. We are currently discussing how we can best address these concerns.

Thank you for the update! I haven't noticed that I've been losing any items... but I will definitely be locking some of the more valuable items in my inventory from now on! Hopefully they won't be lost :3 Thanks again!!

Wait, what??? 😧 Everytime I did a restock and received 502 and 504 errors I may have been losing items? Wow - how would we ever know what was missing?

There were many times were it would take 6 to 8 times hitting the refresh and stock before everything would eventually go through. Never did I imagine items were disappearing. 😮

I'm personally just happy the issue got fixed. I was never too fussed about any items I might've lost (aside from large quantity of the same and I filed a ticket for that and was reimbursed), but, hey I'll take any compensation you deem fitting if you're in the mood for it. 😉

...I was wondering why my item count was incredibly low in my shop after unloading a full inventory into my shop multiple times and then autopricing. And that's barring the fact that it took several tries to even quickstock. sobs

EDIT: I've been experiencing these errors every single time I've QS'd my shop for a while now, so there's no way I could write a ticket over the amount of items I've been losing.
