Amber said this in the update, so I think they are trying to figure out a good way to help us meet the goal: Good luck on the Quest-A-Thon, I know the start wasn’t great with lag and some bigger issues. We’re working on a way to earn a few bonus quests towards the goal, though

That would help getting bonuses. I was out of town for a few days so haven't quested as much as usual during a questathon. I know we all really need the pet slot. ;)

I hear you on that! My questing for this has sucked. RL has been kicking me in the butt. I am trying to plan out what pet I want as I have a loyalty box I want to use for a pet slot too.

I've also been holding a loyalty box I got last week, for a pet slot. With that and a slot from the thon that would give me the achievement. After which I would give up 10 of my pets. "The Atebus Observatory has found Noisavi over Shengui Guo! You receive 25,000 sP and a Green Alien Plushie for predicting correctly!" Good thing I've been "predicting" that for over a week since the stupid stargazer is still broken. "Your chances of winning are: You have no chance of winning." Yeah, that figures.

Yay for having your evenings free! Sorry it took me so long to respond. I didn't get a ping for some reason :( I hate unpacking boxes. Even more than I hate boxing them up lol.
Hey and Hi everyone waves
Oh wow it's already been a week? I have to pull it together and do more quests!
Hey what top is your HA wearing? :O
oh shoot, I should tell you LB sent by FedEx on both occasions then :x
https://image.ibb.co/gzCxnz/image.png https://image.ibb.co/mkTsLK/image.png https://image.ibb.co/dRVuZe/image.png
And that it was In two boxes, the big one was overstuffed and split down the whole middle and the smaller box had room to spare. It wasn't missing anything thank goodness. o_o I also got a skein of bulky tomato red where they clearly sealed it in a rush. The plastic around the 3-pack was melted onto one strand hanging outside the pack. Further along the strand was either melted (bc it's 80% Acrylic 20% Wool) or chafed away from the friction of delivery. It was sitting in the truck during the High 91/Low 90 of the day before it got to me in the evening... People don't seem to like FedEx because their routing is weird even though their service is more expensive and has a smaller customer base. They keep putting my packages in different bouroughs even though they have 10 fedexs closer to me in Manhattan. And the yarn is coming from Jersey so they have to passing all 10 of those FedEx s + Manhattan in the first place. I wonder who got the boxes wet though, the company or the delivery... Both occassions my boxes were warped. :x My experience shouldn't deter you, I think your package will be fine so long as it fits a 20 L x 16 W x14 H box 😓 (That's about 2 forearms x 1 forearm x 1 forearm.) The process by shipment size was probably just my anxiety since it took over a week. The last time it took twice as long because I ordered on the last day of their July sale.
Basically I got a lot of acrylics and 8:2 Acrylic:Wool from their brand. My last and first haul was mostly size 3, and this time I got a lot of 4's, mostly 5's, avoiding the 6's because they were too short and could offer better colors next time. Got the Fun Fur - Tropical (eyelash yarn) too, it'll be another one of my firsts. It'll go well with the Heartland - Denali (Alaskan National Park pink) even though the eyelash is size 5 and Denali is size 4. the pink looks better than pictured and feels better than the bulky wool blends. I think I should've ordered more but didn't because pink is everywhere. And I'm aware of the difficulty of working with eyelash yarn but when else could I get novelty/ fashion priority yarn for $1? Gonna use it for trim and pockets, maybe a cake decal for the same sweater if I can figure out how I want the cake design first.
And I love making lavender satchels with nylon tights I never wear and stuffing candles and incense cones into different drawers around the home.
The fairs sound tough. They really should expand their categories, sets/collections is far too vague. It sounds like an annual thing so that is plenty of time to take note of what is commonly showing and similar to each other in the 'other' category. How big is the turn out?
As I'm typing this there's this particular hyper mosquito/fly that's trying to mate with the tv monitor. :P Failed to kill it.
Didn't get much done today, the rows are taking longer and the shawl will take a second skein. Now I know it takes 394yds with 2' to spare before the 7th skull's eyebrows (increase row). The pattern maker stopped at 9 skulls high.
My HA is modeling the new fashion line from the cash shop and it is the Vanity Miss Top

Trés derelict 😁
Wide awake rn but feeling unproductive. How's it going?
I feel that way right now lol. Had to get up early to run some errands, so of course it took forever to fall asleep. I feel like I just went to bed.
I've got a migraine today. Hit me last night and has stuck around. I'll complete what quests I can before I leave for a football game and hopefully the migraine is gone by then.
Yes! I'm looking forward to being able to start working on crafts and putting time in on the new video games I bought (and the ones I already have). I bought We Happy Few on Tuesday but have yet to play it. I am working this Saturday morning because the diner is open for once more day to try and sell any leftover food. Bummer :( I'll chalk it up to a Subeta error since the site has been so laggy lately. I hate packing and unpacking because I inevitably lose something every time. If I'm packing things up, I prefer to have no help. Whenever I have people help, they never label the boxes and I don't know what's in them because I didn't pack it. Hopefully though, I'll only have to pack and unpack my things once more after we build our house (whenever that happens).
That's some serious damage to the box. I got my package from Amazon today and the box was crumpled in at the corner and side. The PO put a sticker on it that said it arrived to them from FedEx damaged. Luckily my item wasn't damaged, but the main issue is Amazon shipping items in boxes that are larger than necessary. The way packages travel makes no sense to me. Amazon ships most of my orders out of Kentucky, but sends them to Florida, then on to Georgia before they arrive in Kansas. If FedEx or UPS has my package, they take it to a facility an hour west of my town before bringing it back. I have so much yarn that I inherited from my grandmother that I don't need to buy more, but I still do. I'm not deterred from ordering from LB due to them shipping via FedEx, right now I don't really need to spend the money or add to my yarn stash (which is two storage totes, an over-the-door shoe rack, a travel bag, 2 trash sacks, and a soft bin).
The fair is tough when my handmade items are in with random things that were bought, and it always makes me angry. My chainmaille jewelry typically does pretty well in the 'other' category, but it depends on the judge. I think there are over 20 categories, but most of them are specfic. The turnout for the county fair isn't all that big. All arts/crafts entries fit into 4 glass display cases, a table and the wall in a corner of the building. From what I remember seeing entered in the 'other' category, its alot of store-bought kit crafts or things made of plastic canvas, or something built from Legos......
Right now I have a fly that trying to figure out how to get through a glass window. I wait until the bugs land somewhere where I can safely whack them as I don't want to damage my husband's computer monitor. And now its buzzing around my head.
I haven't gotten much done all week. I spent 2 days shopping, started laundry yesterday after my four hour nap (it was needed), and got a shelf put together so I can organize my board games and puzzles upstairs. I need to get to work organizing my craft space in the sitting room and my craft room upstairs so I can get rid of all the hiding spots for spiders.
It's funny you bring up Kentucky, that's where my first half of the Amazon yarn order shipped from. Even though I know fully well they make the yarn in Jersey. And that part came half the week earlier than the bulk from the company shopgate. I picked up the no-show half a week later. That box was too big to and hard to carry bc it was long and flat like a tabletop, they could've done with a smaller cube. It had way more than enough space to fit both parts of the order, too.
Time to time I see deliverers in an Amazon uniform but they're not specifically Amazon's own deliverers since they still use other PS' tracking systems.
It's like they put it on the nearest moving vehicle, pat it on the back and let it run through the country, It gets weird when it is closer to home, then it does hot potato over your house before arriving battered to your door.
They should really make a rule on no kit-crafts. It's too commercialized it's not ingenious. Legos I understand but it doesn't belong in a competition with fabrics. I don't know what plastic canvas items make it to those fairs but I can think of fabric-canvas in rugs and embroidery... art which need a 'home decor' section.
Insects are funny like that, it seems the window screen is better at keeping the bugs in than out. When they're around the window I come over to open one if I can (not the living room one because it is rusted) but they start buzzing around me which freaks me out so I back away swatting at them and they remain trapped. Last month there was one that enjoyed landing on my left shoulder. I think it stopped because I moved from my usual seat.
I worked on a bit more of the shawl before passing out. Mistakes aren't friendly when the rows get longer. shakes fist at triangle shawls Keen on getting gloves for crochet/knitting because my hands feel a burning sensation, I take breaks before they could blister but now there's bumps in the grooves of the fingers where I usually run my yarn through. I see a lot of people use their index finger but I switch between the other three.
Leftover food? Not very appealing :( Having time for crafts and fun games is always a good thing! I haven't heard of that game. I will have to check it out. I tend to stick to the usual games that I am used to. I need to branch out more lol. It always amazes me what I lose in a move. It makes no sense. What happens to the stuff? Does it just vanish? Magic?
Well I finished the skulls shawl yesterday differently from the instructions and spent all night having trouble sticking on a plan for forest print and coffee solid - took out Honey (a rustic/ mustard yellow shade because it didn't suit the brown-green colorway). I had my heart set on finally using the tunisian hook that came the first haul but theoretically I don't think tunisian will work up the print very well. 😔 plans are up in the air again. I pin a lot of patterns but don't really do them, I usually end up just doing what I want
Just logged back on and is it just me or is the site super lagging? Keep getting squirrel errors and site lag.

I wish I was creative!
It is really laggy for me too :(
You've earned the Longtime Member achievement!
12 years :D
Does anyone know if a Loyalty Tome Totem can be used on a capped pet? I probably can't use it on Talon :(
Created a pet with a minion to zap but so far useless, got a treasure slot and changed genders and that's it. Disappointing. What are the chances that the minion will ever get zapped?

I believe there is an Amazon fulfillment center in Kentucky, so it could be that the yarn was already there in the warehouse. My item from Amazon wasn't damaged luckily. They put the giant air bubble wrap around it but it didn't stop it from moving around. Yeah, it gets pretty annoying too when I check tracking and see that it's in a town an hour east of me then later in the day it's now an hour west. I must be on the tailend of UPS's delivery list, because they always deliver late. Currently, all the packages I'm waiting on are being shipped by FedEx. One should have been transferred to the postal service yesterday. The other one seems to be stopping in every state since it left California. I still haven't heard anything about the customized hoodie I ordered. I've sent them two messages, one through their website and one on Facebook. I've decided to bombard them with messages until they answer.
Well quilts, embroidery, crochet and knitting have their own separate class. I understand there are people who love to put together Lego sets (I do occasionally), but it's not something I would enter in the fair because anyone can put a set together. The plastic canvas items I remember seeing are like tissue box covers or little decorative houses. Kit-crafts should either have their own category, or not be allowed, because it takes away from the people who have spent years perfecting what they do. And you can tell when a particular craft was a one time thing for someone and not something they continue to work on.
I've got two flies sitting on the outside on the window screen and a fly that keeps flying at and around my face....until I tried to smack him on the desk, then he decided it was safer to stay up high.
I wasn't super productive yesterday. I got home from work and got all quests completed on here. Then I spent over an hour messing with my house phone because it kept saying the line was in use. I finally just disconnected the phone line and reconnected it this morning, but now it says no line detected. I haven't heard back from technical support. ThenI had a hard time falling asleep last night, I probably fell asleep sometime after 2 a.m. The last time I crocheted a washcloth, I ended up pulling it apart about 5 times because I kept messing up or let my stitches get too loose or too tight. Then the yarn was all kinky and difficult to work with.
All the food that was leftover was food that's kept in the freezer, like fries, chicken strips, cheese sticks, onion rings, hamburgers, etc. The only perishable food that could go bad in a week at the diner is the veggies for salads and burgers, but they only buy what's needed to last a weekend. Anything that has been opened in the fridge for a week has to be tossed per regulations. Basically there was too much leftover for my friend and her family to feasibly eat it themselves. I ate a fried chicken sandwich while I was working, then made a pork tender sandwich to take home and also took home a quart of ice cream.
We Happy Few was just released at the end of August, its from the same studio that made the Borderlands series (which I'm impatiently waiting for Borderlands 3). Its set in an AU of 1960's England. I tend to stick to the genre I like best, games where I can create my own character, quest and explore.
I had a season of CSI: New York disappear after I moved out of a scholarship house, I've since replaced it. The most recent item I've lost is a drawing glove to use with tablets. I got it for my birthday last year and have yet to find which box it got stuffed in. I'll either never find it, or I'll find it in a couple years. Since the things just seem to vanish, it would be nice if they could also just randomly reappear again, too.
I've been dealing with lag too. Yesterday it wasn't too bad, but it was worse today.
How many quests was it that we needed to get for the thon? Less than a week left unless they extend it because of the lag and errors. Looks like we're only 2/3 of the way there and only 4 days left (?). My new zap pet will eventually be an aqua blob. Have the potion waiting. Just wonder how LONG it will take to get a zapped minion before I can change him, how many years of zapping.
CWs for Sale or Trade https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/shop/24266
Oh ok! That makes more sense. When I think "leftovers" I think of stuff like the leftover meatloaf I ate yesterday lol. I will check it out and see if it will be good for Emily to play :D Most of my stuff turns up after I replace it sigh
I might make a pet for zapping, but it feels like it always takes me forever to get a zap that I actually want. I usually end up giving up and using a potion or something. Can the minions be sold after the zapping?
I don't see why they can't be sold like any other minion. I just wonder how many years it will take to get one. I got a new pet that I will eventually turn into an aqua blob and already have the potion. Just will take forever to get the right zap I guess. :( And I do not like the new hydrus tigrean, I think he's kinda ugly where the previous version was beautiful/handsome.
