That’s just insane. I’m sure you were stressed to the max! I’m glad they were peaceful enough to agree on subtracting that stuff. Our landlord tends to do that kind of thing too unless it’s a bigger repair or replacement. Like when we needed new smoke detectors, he had us buy them and take it off our rent and send him the receipt. But he took care of replacing our back door and getting us storm doors. Hearing all of you complaining about landlords makes me appreciate ours more, yikes. They would just show up out of nowhere and be like “oh hey”? That’s not creepy at all...
That’s a lot of yellow! O.O Grey would be nice. I love grey for a wall color. It’s a nice neutral color and there’s so many shades. I tend to like the ones with a blue undertone. At little at a time is probably better anyway, it’s less overwhelming that way. Living on family property sounds nice though. Is it very foresty on their land? You’d probably like where my grandfather lives. He’s in a pretty rural area in Kentucky. His house is down in like a valley area down from the main road, it’s hard to explain lol. He’s got a ton of acres, I forget how much but most of it is woods. He built a pond right by the house and the house is kind of an a frame cabin type look.

That’s true I guess lol. I collect purple things! I started it because it makes me think of a store in Myrtle Beach where everything was purple. My favorite color! I haven’t thought of any other random things to collect but maybe I can do a nightmare before Christmas kind of collection with holiday stuff, like they have all the trees with the doors in the movie! (I’m watching it right now that’s why I’m thinking of it lol!)

Maybe I could split them and do a few of the holidays together. I don’t remember if they have a limit on how many galleries you can have. I just had to go google how many holiday doors there was. Apparently there is 7. I could remember 6 but apparently the 7th is Independence Day.
I am pretty sure you can have a total of 6 shops and galleries combined. I have 1 shop and 5 galleries.

Yeah it is hard to find some items. Especially when they are named something that has nothing to do with what the item actually is!!
Exactly! I don’t have the patience to sit here and click on each thing either. I might have to make more than one outfit and then decide which to enter. The one I’m working on, the colors don’t match my childhood costume but I think the vibes are close enough lol.
I am terrible at matching colors to anything lol. They kinda have something in the wardrobe to help, but it doesn't work like it used to and it only seems to work for a few items.
Yeah I’ve only seen that function on a few things. I’m mad they took away that button that you could use to take you to the shop search for that item you were looking at in the wardrobe. I used that function all the time to add things to my wishlists and now I have to go enter the item in shop search myself and it’s annoying!
It is crazy what they keep and what they get rid of. That was a very helpful feature. It doesn't seem like we will ever get a completely finished wardrobe.
Probably not. Every time they “fix” something in it, 15 other things break so...yeah no. It is what it is at this point I guess.
Yep. I just hope they stick with this one for a while and not give us a newer new version anytime soon. I just wanna play dress up lol.
Tree comes off today! Hopefully there is minimal damage. I had a dream last night that we only needed to replace shingles.
Going to play with my avatar today and see what I can come up with for another Halloween theme. I have the Dee Layla Brew It Set. I may go with that for a bit. :)

I normally make lists too, but we were too the point that a list wouldn't really help cause stuff just needed to get done. We have a date and time for closing on the house, the afternoon of the 16th. I'm hoping that since the house is empty, we will be able to start moving things in that day.
The loan officer has not been helping shorten the process at all lately. Yesterday, she texted Chris and asked him to send her a bank statement that covered Sept 23 to the current day.....Ummm I'm don't know of any bank that does weekly statements. I guess she also wanted another pay stub. When the loan is already being looked at by underwriters and we've been told it should only be in underwriting once, why are you asking for further documentation under the guise that they underwriters might ask for it? Chris told her the only way he could get a 'bank statement' for the days she wanted was to take screenshots. Radio silence on her end after that until she called us to say that a date and time was scheduled to close on the house. I think our process to buy a house was so stressful because I have zero credit (narrowed down who would give us a loan), we went with a VA loan (so a lot of things were out of our control), and we were in a time crunch. My brother-in-law and his wife bought a house earlier this year and they had zero issues, except for waiting for an appraiser. The backsplash will get changed, but it won't be right away. We're going to repaint the office first so we can get everything set up in there. I have some options for backsplash, but I have to figure out what I want to do with the cabinets and countertop first.
I freaked. I was shaking out my hair and checking my clothes. I make sure to always have shoes on when I go into the basement so I have something to smoosh them with. Sometimes I worry that a spider is going to crawl on me while I sleep. o.O My parents use a pest spray by Seven in their basement now and that seems to keep the number of spiders down.
I've realized my allergies are worse on the days its really windy, which has been almost every day this week. 😢 It always stinks when you wake up and feel bleh all day. I can never get anything accomplished.
Yeah, driving to a different town for a thrift store is no fun. An hour east of me, there are three thrift stores that have been in operation for as long as I can remember. One moved to a different location and I kinda miss their old store. 45 minutes west of me, there are two thrift stores, and an hour south there are two thrift stores. Every now and then a new one will open up but they never last very long. Signs would be the easiest. That thrift store already has signs up for clothing and books, so how hard is it to put a sign up in the two spots where the bags are? I bet they'd sell more bags if they had a sign with the prices above them.
The school district I went to had three different options to save money two years ago. Option one was to close an elementary school in the south end of the district. Option two was to close the k-12 school that I went to and bus all kids to the south end of the district like parents aren't going to just send their kids to a different school at that point Option three was to keep k-6 at the school I went to, close the high school side and send those kids to the south end of the district. The school board went with option one because the community was very vocal. Yeah, I don't see how you save money by opening more schools....that kinda increases costs. Yes, that is another plus. Chris and I are kinda leaning towards homeschooling our future kids through grade school, then enroll them in high school.
I try to branch out and play new games, but I always go back to my favorites. I have been playing Journey to the Savage Planet since last week. So far, it's consisted of exploring and gathering resources to craft upgrades. The creatures are pretty cute until they try to kill you. And I'm getting back into Animal Crossing since they released the Fall/Halloween update. I've never really paid attention to what exactly I do when I get aggravated with a game, but I do cuss internally a fair amount.
Whenever I shopped at the Kmart here before they closed, they never really had much that was worth buying. Anything that was was super expensive, even when they had their closing sale. I won't either. I had to order a second watch charger (original got boxed up and is who knows where). After I added it to the cart, Amazon popped up recommended items and one was a watchband, so I looked at it. Almost every photo was photoshopped and the colors of the bands looked extremely fake. I've also noticed some online 'boutiques' use the same photo for each color of a piece of clothing, but only the color has been changed. How do these businesses think it isn't obvious?
I read an article today that about 4000+ PS4 games will be backwards compatible on the PS5 and so far only 10 games are not compatible. They were games that I had never heard of, but I am still wondering if some of my lesser-known games will be compatible with the system.
His parents never even responded to his text asking them to leave the dog at home, so we had no idea if it would just be the in-laws or more. Yeah, sadly common sense is very rare these days :( I know and I still have some things that I can't find from the last move. I'm just really hoping that the stuff I can't find is in a box in the garage or my parents' storage box (mostly concerned about jewelry).
We had water pour out of the kitchen light and maintenance didn't answer their phone and didn't respond to our request until later in the day when the water stopped coming out of the light. That is one instance where they need to be prompt. I had called my bank and asked why the check bounced. They told me it never came through their system and I had money in my account. They were the ones to tell me to make sure and get the other check back. I mostly wanted it back so the office couldn't try to rescan it and get double the money. The lady in the office said they couldn't scan the check a second time (not too sure about that) and that they needed to keep ahold of it for records, but she finally gave it back to me when I mentioned that my bank said I needed the old check back to destroy it. I had the option to pay my rent online at the apartment but their website didn't always work.
My parents have two small freezers and a large one and they are all almost full, but it really does help with keeping more food on hand since the freezer side of a fridge is so tiny.
The afternoon always seems to drag by unless I'm busy with something. But time does seem to fly by at night. But it's getting darker earlier and that doesn't help, makes me think it's later than it really is.

I was stressed to the point that I was losing sleep because my brain just wouldn't shut off at night. I'd lay there thinking about the what if's and everything negative. Any big repairs they paid for too, like the water heater. If we wanted to change something we had to get approval first which was a pain when we wanted to swap out the ceiling fan in the living room. The landlord came over to see why and we showed him that the whole fan shakes and sways when it's on. Yup, and most of the time their son wouldn't even say hi, he would just drive in and do what he wanted then leave. He was the one that would mow the yard and half the time he brought his dog who would just antagonize ours. But the landlords would just randomly show up too without any warning and calling to give a heads up was just too much work for them.
It's all the same shade of yellow too, so there's no variance, which just makes it too much yellow. And grey goes with almost everything, so we wouldn't have to worry about colors clashing. A lot of the grey shades we liked had blue undertones as well. We figure we'll be living in this house for at least 5 years, maybe 10, so there's no reason to break the bank and try to change everything at once (since nothing is cheap). My grandparents' property has three tree rows for windbreaks and some trees in the yard, the forest area is across the road. Your grandfather's property sounds lovely, all nice and secluded. The downside to my grandparents' property is that it's right off a gravel road and some people think that gives them the ok to drive in the yard and mess with my horse.
Well yesterday they took only the branches becuase their tree truck was doing back to back to back removals. They said sometime next week and I fretted because we have rain in the forecast Monday and Tuesday. They are here right as I am typing this taking the rest of the tree away! We do have some puncture damage so will need an emergency patch or a tarp but, we are one stp closer to being done with this!

Sorry to butt in and be nosy but I saw you mention to EmilyMae that situation about a check and a management company. That’s actually what I do! I work for a small property management company and I process the check and cash payments for each association. If their system is anything like the one I use, they won’t be able to run your check through a second time. The system will flag it as a duplicate and won’t let you process it. I’ve had a guy that paid with those starter checks that don’t have a check number and the system HATED those. It always thought his check was a duplicate even though it wasn’t. I had to have his taken to the actual bank and have them process it.
Ugh stress is awful! Yikes, I don’t like ceiling fans. They scare me. I always think they’re going to fall! That’s terrible that they’d just pop in randomly. Nothing like extra stress right? Yeesh. And of course they’re too lazy for a phone call. Heaven forbid they actually do any extra work.
Oh Lordy, that’s a lot of one shade! Oh yeah, a little at a time would be more manageable money wise. You can keep an eye out for coupons and discounts and all that and get things when pricing works in your favor. Oh yeah his house is pretty secluded. There are people living nearby but the two houses he owns are set back away from the road. One is up on a hill and he rents that one out. The one he actually lives in is down in the “valley”. The only time you can see his house from the main road is when the trees have no leaves. Oh how rude! That poor horse!
Bummer that you have a puncture but at least like you said, it’s one step closer to being fixed! Hope it’s done soon! Yeah it works for the moment! I need to find some more backgrounds that work for Morostide myself.

That's how they explained the system to me as well, but this apartment complex was super sketchy so I just wanted the check back so someone in the office couldn't try to do something with it later. Employees in the office changed pretty frequently. They charged a pet deposit and a monthly fee to have pets. They had 2 and 4 bedroom apartments and charged by the room. My husband and I shared a 4 bedroom apartment with a friend. That friend moved out and the apartment complex moved another roommate in and told us we wouldn't have a fourth, then later moved a fourth in. We had an issue with the third roommate (he was a total slob, never took trash out or cleaned) and our options were to move into a 2 bedroom apartment (more expensive), move into a 4 bedroom apartment, and pay for the two extra rooms or try and get the fourth roommate to agree to get the 3rd moved out. We started looking for somewhere else to live after that.
Well, that's a pain. How long was it until he got different checks?
I let stress get to me too much. I'm really surprised that I didn't end up with a migraine the last day we were in the house, that would have slowed things down. I'm ok with ceiling fans that don't hang down far from the ceiling. The ones in that house hung at least a foot or so from the ceiling and were not secured very well. The ceiling fan in the bedroom started swaying too and I was concerned it was going to fall on us one night. So, when we first moved in, they told us that they would give us a heads up before they came over but that didn't last very long. Most of the time, they never came to enter the house, just dump junk off on their junk pile or put something in the shed.
The previous owner of the house really liked sunflowers and the ocean, so I guess it didn't bother her to have the same color everywhere. One bathroom was decorated with seashells and sea horses and the sink is made to look like a shell (that's changing later). I will need to keep an eye on the Home Depot app to see if there are any coupons posted there. Menards also does an 11% rebate for every purchase, so we can get some money back there. We plan to slowly swap out the floors for vinyl, which isn't cheap. It's nice to live somewhere secluded. If you have a long driveway, people are less likely to bother you. Whenever my horse acts super skittish in the morning, I've started assuming that someone was trying to mess with him the night before. I have found a motorbike track in front of his pen before a few years ago. Next time I'm at Home Depot, I'll have to get a no trespassing sign.
