SPOILER (click to toggle)
We got everything moved out of the house Wednesday. We left with the last load at 2 a.m. My mom helped for a bit, then Chris's middle brother helped from 2-8 p.m., then my mom came back and helped around 10 p.m. It was so stressful. We ran out of boxes but managed to get everything that was in boxes moved to the garage of the new house (the garage is packed full and didn't have room for everything). We couldn't move anything into the house (even though before we were told we could), so that is stored at my parents. The only cleaning I did was wiping down counters, sinks, the shower, the toilet, and sweeping and vacuuming. Right before we left, the toilet started leaking from the bottom of the tank, so we had to shut the water off to it and drain the tank. Chris and I are staying with my parents until we finally get the house.
Update on the house, we don't close until the 16th of October (maybe sooner, but I doubt it) Of course that's when Chris has drill, but he thinks he should be able to miss that day. Fencing supplies weren't supposed to be delivered until the 15th but got delivered on the 3rd, so now $3000 worth of supplies are sitting in the backyard of a house we aren't living in yet. Just hope nothing gets stolen.
I googled that author, seems like she had quite a few books involving haunted/scary dolls.
I hate spiders too. My parents' house had a really bad brown recluse infestation years ago (the numbers have finally dwindled now), and I was easily killing 15+ spiders a day. I don't mind the little fuzzy black spiders that hop though, because they keep to themselves. I am ready for a freeze to kill off the flies and other bugs. I'm tired of walking outside and getting pegged in the forehead by a bug.
It's really sad that things are priced so high. Some thrift stores around here are starting to price things really high too.
They renovated the house in the 70's but I think they were really cheap about it.
It would, luckily I've never gotten stuck on a bus in inclement weather before. If I ever have kids, homeschooling is seeming like a really good option right now due to the current state of the world. I heard on the radio yesterday that some school districts that are doing virtual learning are considering the child's home to be an extension of school property which means that the child could get in trouble if a younger sibling runs through the room naked, they have a bottle of medication on the table, etc. I'll homeschool and avoid that headache.
I know quite a few games have started implementing a new game plus mode, which lets you start a new game while keeping all your gear but bumps up the difficulty. I never paid attention to see in KH3 does that. But it sucks that you put in all the work to get the best stuff at the end of the game.
This year, Chris did taxes through H&R Block and we might use them next year too because their online system is more military friendly. I think they actually ask questions about if you deployed, whereas Turbo Tax never did that, they only ask if you lived in a different state at any time during the year.
Kmart is gone around here too. The one closest to me closed a couple of years ago. JCPenney is closing a store near me too, but all the good stuff is gone. I might go back and see if they still have any nice dresses.
Sony did live streams revealing information, but how many people want to sit and look at graphs they don't understand. I still haven't found a decent list of what PS4 games will work on PS5. I'm sure we'll get a PS5 eventually once Dragon Age 4 releases (maybe if we save up and that's our Christmas/birthday/anniversary gift for the year). I prefer to have a disk too because then I know I have the game. There are games that are sold digitally anymore and if you delete them from your system, then the game is gone forever.
We close on the 16th, but we need to ask if we can start moving in that day as well. The in-laws said they can help that day and I really hope they leave the youngest at home this time. Wednesday, I went through some of the stacks in the garage and had to reorganize because boxes labeled fragile had been placed under heavier boxes and I'm pretty sure I know who did that.
You would think the managers of rental properties would want to use the best materials for apartments so that it holds up longer, especially if it's rented out for the long term. I found out just how nasty the walls at the rental were when I was wiping them down to remove pencil marks. I used a magic eraser and that thing was filthy after cleaning one spot.
We kept ours in the garage which probably made it run harder in the summer. We plan on putting it in the basement of the new place if we can get it down there.
Hope everything makes sense, I'm still trying to catch up on sleep
I think 2020 has turned into a dumpster fire for a lot of people. It has for me. My husband and I just moved out of the house we rented for 3 years because the landlords decided to sell but gave us last minute notice. Left us no choice but to buy a house (still waiting to close) in the small town we live in. I'm just ready for this year to be over with and I hope that next year is better. I hope things get less stressful for you and your family. hugs I have some buddy GAs that I can gift you.
It is going to take me a long time to get them all. I am sure I will end up having to buy them from usershops.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Wow you guys got a lot done in a short amount of time! I am glad you are staying at your parents house. I am sure it helps relieve some of the stress. Way better then at his parent's house I am sure.
Oh no! I hope the supplies will be safe. Is the son holding up everything for you?
Yeah. I tried to get a better synopsis of the book, but it was hard to find. I wanted more details about the plot so I could know for sure.
Ahhh those things are the worst! I would have gone insane:
Yeah I am tired of bug season too!
I wonder if people just aren't donating items like they used to or something.
I deff don't regret keeping Emily home with me. It was the best decision for her. Plus it took a lot of stress off me too. That part is just crazy to me! Thankfully Emily's school was nothing like that! When the time comes search around online for virtual schools like K12. Not the ones that are offered through reg schools.
I want to keep all the stuff, but not sure I want a bump up in difficulty. We like to play things on easy lol.
It is deff better to use a site that asks more in depth questions. You need to get back every penny you deserve!
It is sad to see so many stores we grew up shopping at going out of business. Too many people shopping online now.
I would not understand any of it. Just tell me what it does, how much it costs and where I can get one. For the price I saw they better ALL play on there or they can keep it! I wont risk that kind of money for a game I am not 100% sure I can keep forever.
I hope so too. He sounds like a total pain in the rear. Maybe they are worried about leaving him home alone. I kinda don't blame them if that is the case. Hopefully none of your stuff was broken.
You would think, but the owners of this building have all been super cheap! They like to just slap bandaids on things when they can get away with it.
Yeah all that heat and everything. That would be a great place for it.
Same! I still feel tired :(
I think Fireside tends to be forgotten about by a lot of people so I don’t think you’re alone in that. That’s why I think it could be interesting to have a plot at that time. I just like the whole fire aspect I guess lol. Dude I love love love your batty witch HA!
I know how that feels! That happened to me and my parents when I was just out of high school. The couple we were renting from, their daughter needed a place so they booted us out in pretty short timing. I think it came back to bite them because I’m pretty sure I remember somebody saying they got foreclosed on later down the road so eh, karma! Our landlord now is a pretty decent guy. Sometimes he’s hard to reach and get stuff handled but he’s gotten it done when it really counts. Our heater went out one winter and he was on top of having that fixed as soon as he could get somebody there. We really haven’t had many issues here. I hope your closing goes smoothly and gets done quick as possible! Is this place better for you guys? I hope so! I hope things get better for you as well, this year has just been rough on everybody! hugs Are you sure you don’t want the GAs? That would be so awesome and super kind of you. I appreciate it so much.
Yeah and it is kinda squished in between two bigger holidays lol. I am looking forward to the new items! Thank you :D ❤
That's really crappy! We were renting the house from an older couple who wanted someone living in the house to keep an eye on things. I don't think they knew what they were getting into with renting because they got pretty upset when there was a water leak that they had to pay for and other things that had to be replaced. They had the house appraised back in May and told us it was for insurance, but I think they were trying to figure out a sale value and still get a monthly rent from us....so greedy They gave us a 4-day notice that someone was interested in buying the place and wanted to look at it. Last I heard, the guy is still trying to get the money to buy the house and land. Ah, karma, always nice when someone gets what's due. My husband and I had a really good landlord for a place we rented 5 years ago. He tried to get things fixed as soon as possible and he was fairly easy to reach. I hope it goes smoothly too. We were hoping to close at the end of September but the appraiser took two weeks to look at the house and another week to submit his report. This house isn't perfect (mostly because everything is painted yellow), but it's heaps better than the 100+-year-old house we were renting. It's got a full basement and a two-car garage which is an improvement over a cellar and one car garage. The downside is that we are back in town but we'll be on the edge of town. I've got six buddy GAs, so I can give you as many as you want and they should stack. They come with the subscription and I can't use them for myself.
Take your time, I just got done eating supper
New items are always fun to look at. The only ones I don’t like are the ones that serve no function. If you can’t use them for something, why waste the space and coding for it? I just don’t get it.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
4 days?! Holy cow. We had a few weeks at least I think. It’s been about 11 years since we moved to where are now. I can actually count on one hand the issues we’ve ever had here. The heater was the biggest I think and then I think we had our ac fixed too. The most annoying thing was trying to get him to repave the driveway when it was falling apart and getting huge potholes. Other than that, he’s been a good landlord.
Yellow? Oh dear. Yellow isn’t the worst color but I can’t say I’d personally chose it for a paint color. Are you guys going to paint over it and what colors? I’m glad it’s a better space even if it isn’t where you necessarily planned.
However many you feel like sharing would be wonderful. Thank you! Just out of curiosity, how long does each one last?
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Yeah, 4 days notice that someone was interested in buying, so 4 days to try and get the house looking decent. The landlords didn't tell us right away how soon we needed to move out so I assumed we had to be out at the end of August. We got until Sept 30th to move out and we finished moving all out our stuff out by 2:30 a.m. When my husband was deployed, the landlords took care of repairs, like the kitchen sink and the water leak in the backyard (went a week without water for that one), but once hubby was back home he took care of most stuff. We updated most of the lighting in the house by converting it to LEDs. The last thing we replaced was the thermostat, but any work we did on the house we subtracted the value from rent which the landlords agreed with. I'm glad to be out of that house though because the landlords' son and grandkids would show up whenever they wanted to bring stuff to a junk pile or put something in a shed.
Yup, almost every room in the house is yellow (one room downstairs is bright blue) and the exterior is yellow too. Even the kitchen counter is yellow. We do plan on painting over the yellow and right now we're thinking about using different shades of grey, but we'll have to make sure the color goes with the floors we put in. We won't do everything at once because we had to buy almost $3000 worth of fencing materials to make a space for our dogs. Our plan is to eventually get a house built on my grandparents' property so we can be back out in the country.
Each buddy GA lasts 30 days and they should stack, even if you decided to get a subscription as well.
I have a lot of pumpkin themes items from past years. I need to get more creative with them and with the small amount of spider themed stuff I have. I'm gonna futz around the wardrobe this weekend and see what else I can come up with. The Zombie and Zapper skins are also fun to experiment with this time of year too. I did a weeping angel of sorts for my Avatar one year.

Some players just love collecting all kinds of items :D I really thought I replied already!
Hey Hun hugs
I like collecting snowflake and dolphin stuff for my gallery. Hoping Morostide starts before Oct 17 since I might have someone visiting that week so can't be on much to TOT. Interested in seeing what new wearables they have this year for TOT and Patch. I usually want the wearables I like and books. I haven't bothered with the pirate opponents because I didn't know if there was any new loot and still can't beat fishbreath.

SPOILER (click to toggle)
We did, but it was so stressful. For a while, things were going really well then at about 3 p.m. we started realizing what still needed to go and stress levels went up. I got dehydrated and ended up with a nosebleed multiples times in the evening, so I was useless for 30 minutes. Chris isn't happy that we're staying with my parents because he feels like we are imposing, but it would be way worse if we were with his parents. If staid with them, I'd be in the basement the whole time hoping to be left alone.
We put a tarp over the bags of Quikrete this morning, so they'll stay dry. I think right now that VA and the loan company are what's holding everything up. The loan officer got really picky about a photo of an outlet that got switched out because she couldn't tell it was the same room as the picture of the old outlet. I guess a cutting board had made it into the old picture and she wanted to know why there wasn't wood in the new picture. I was like, lady, look at the wall because the backsplash is the same.
I hate brown recluses. I'm lucky that their bites don't bother me but they are nasty things. They started popping up at the house we rented. I do go overkill when I kill a spider though. They are getting stomped or whacked multiple times to make sure they are dead. I've never burned a spider but I've burned plenty of ticks.
I'm so tired of bug season. Mosquitos are trying to find a warm place to stay alive, wasps keep coming back out of hiding later in the day. I'm so ready for a freeze because it should help my allergies too (but I just need to get a stronger allergy medicine).
That could be one reason, but I know a few months ago one of the local Goodwills had to block their donation door because their warehouse was full. And another thrift store I frequent had a whole back room full of items to price yet they've hiked up prices. And sometimes they have stuff out that doesn't have a price on it so you have to ask.
Earlier this year, I found a website where teachers share worksheets and curriculum (some are free, some you have to pay for), so that's where I'd get some things. I'd have to decide if I just wanted to put together everything for my future kids or have them also do online, then if I homeschool them for just grade school, or do everything.
My first playthrough of every game starts on easy or normal, mostly because I want to enjoy the story. I know most games let you change the difficulty at any point in the game, but I'm not sure if the new game+ mode lets you do that. The only game that I've played through all difficulty levels is War in the North. Chris and I played co-op and beat the game in every difficulty, but our characters kept everything.
Yes. Turbo Tax always advertises that they will save you the most money but after the fiasco last year, I'm not so sure.
It is. I'll admit, I order a fair amount from Amazon, but I still like to go into a store to shop, especially around holidays.
I didn't watch the live stream, but I watched someone else's video on Youtube explaining some of the main topics from the stream and I sort of understood things. But I'd prefer being able to read the information. I googled what PS4 games will work on PS5 and the results are that 99% of PS4 games that Sony has tested will work on PS5, but there is no definitive list of games that I can find.
He is a pain and the fact that they brought the dog along too slowed things down the day they helped. The dog took up space in the van and we had to make sure she didn't get run over. The kid is a sophomore, so he should be old enough to stay home alone, but they could always have his grandma come over to have an adult there. I really hope nothing got broken as well, but I won't know until the end of next week,
That's just such a terrible practice. Pretty soon a bandaid fix won't cut it anymore. I would think that the owners would get enough in rent each month from their tenants to cover the cost of using better materials and then they'd save money because they wouldn't have to replace things all the time. I guess some people just get really greedy and care more about the money than anything else.
We just hope we can fit the freezer down the stairs. We may have to take the railing down, which might actually make it easier to move everything downstairs.
I'm starting to catch up on sleep but some days I still get really sleepy partway through the day. I took a nap on Sunday and that seemed to help some. I just need to make sure I don't stay up super late once Chris and I move into the house (I say that and I know I'll be up late that weekend since he has drill).
I love collecting anything that is rainbowy, flowery or has hearts! Come on Morostide!!!
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Awe sorry it was that stressful for you hugs. I know he is uncomfortable now, but at least when it is all over you will be able to move into your own home!
Wow that is nuts. Makes no sense to me at all, That sounds way to nit picky for me! I just don't have the patience needed to deal with people like her lol. Did she explain her issues with the pics at all? Just sounds weird to me.
My ex got bit by one and I had to take him to the hospital, It was gross and bleh! I hate all spiders!!! I just got another one earlier tonight. I always go overboard too. I am so paranoid that it is going to jump on me!!
I just wish the weather would change and stay that way for a while, Ours is so fickle right now. Warm one day and then freezing the next! Messing with my sinuses.
I haven't been to a thrift store in quite a while. I barely go anywhere these days besides the grocery store and drug store. I hate having to ask about prices. I usually end up with someone who has no idea and then I have to wait around for them to find someone.
It is a big decision, and it takes a lot of thought. It is deff not something to decide on a whim. Great idea to start thinking about it now. It takes a lot of work!! The child and the parent both have to be motivated every day! I will be honest that some days it was not that easy, but it was worth it.
We always just stay on easy/beginner. I would probably end up with a lot of broken controllers if we didn't lol!
They always seemed sketchy to me for some reason. No clue why.
I do a lot of ordering online. There are some things I only get from Kmart and now that is the only way I can get them :( I love being able to look at and hold things that I want to buy. I hate having to trust pictures online.
I am terrible at listening to people explain stuff. I tend to zone out lol! I prefer to read the stuff too. Ugh they need to get their act together already! People are going to start getting aggravated with the whole thing and give up on it.
They brought a dog along? That is just crazy. They should leave the dog and the kid home. They can take care of each other lol. fingers crossed That all of your items are safe and in one piece!
Our old landlords were awful, but at least we saw them. I have no clue who really owns our building now. They just use a management company and I can't stand them. There is a lady there that I hate dealing with. She will tell you something and then try to say she never said it!! They rarely replace anything. If something needs to be fixed, it seems like they hire the cheapest people possible! I still have a square cut out near the door that needs to be fixed. They had to fix the porch light (I still have to flip the switch up and down at least 12 to 30 times to get it to work) so they cute a square hole and then just shoved that section back in the wall saying that someone would come around to fix it. That was 4 months ago.
It will be worth it in the long run if you can.
I tend to get sleepy between 5 and 7 for some odd reason. I always say I wont stay up too late, but then I always do.
We had quite the weather last night. A microburst blew through and I have a 30 foot tree sitting on my house. The tree guys are 30 minutes late and I am trying not to stress out. The whole town was damaged in some capacity....
[item=Dappled Unicorn]
[item=Great White Shark]
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that hugs It must have been terrifying for you and your family!
SPOILER (click to toggle)
It was terrible, Chris would start listing things still needed to get done and it just stressed me out further. He only did that because it helped him figure out what still needed to get done. Yes, that is the plus side, the stay is only temporary and hopefully, by the end of next week, we have the keys to our new home.
She was being picky about it because she was concerned that the underwriters would question why one outlet looked like it was in a different room, yet the appraiser okay'd the initial picture. The loan officer just kept asking 'well, where is the wood at? Is it the counter or cutting board?' Chris was the one talking to her on the phone but I should have just piped up and told her to look at the backsplash because it's super ugly and obvious (it's a brown and white design that just looks permanently dirty).
Yuck! Yeah, I quadruple check that the buggers are dead. I freaked out once when I swatted one with a flyswatter and it disappeared. o.O I didn't know if it had landed in my hair or on my clothes because it was gone.
Same here. It's fall in the morning and back to summer by noon. My allergy meds can't keep up and I spend most of the day needing to sneeze. I think we're on summer part 4 by now.
When I go shopping with my mom, we stop at every thrift store that is open. If I'm with Chris then we only stop at Goodwill. I hate having to ask about prices too, mostly because I'm not a fan of talking to people I don't know. I get that it saves time if they price everything (like bags), but at least put up a sign or something.
Yeah, it is, especially since the school I went too keeps getting put on the chopping block by the district, so who knows if it will still be open when/if I have kids ready to go to school. Then there's the whole common core hoopla that's taught in grade school but not high school. I know quite a few farm/ranching families have decided to home school their young children this year, which makes sense because it cuts out the driving back and forth to school. The plus side about homeschooling is that you can always take a day off (if not doing online) if there's no motivation.
The first time I played a Dragon Age game, I started on easy/casual. I started a new game in Dragon Age Origins at the beginning of the year and picked the normal setting. I had to change back to easy a couple hours into the game because I was getting my butt kicked as a mage. I try my hardest to not chuck my controllers but I've done it a few times.
Turbo Tax always seems sketchy to me, mostly because any time I've used it, it becomes very obvious that their ads are not entirely truthful about how thorough they are. Like they'll show a person going through multiple in-depth questions but I've never gotten that.
I mostly order online from Amazon, Thriftbooks, or Etsy. I didn't realize you could still order from Kmart online. Once the one here closed, I assumed it was because the company was shutting down. Yes, I prefer to hold what I want to buy, if clothing, bedding, or pillows, so I can feel how soft it is. I agree, pictures online are so deceiving, especially on Amazon. I can tell when the product has been photoshopped in to a picture and it makes me less inclined to buy that product.
I zone out too or I start to realize that I'm tired of sitting. The other issue with livestreams is that if you miss something you have to wait until the stream is over to go back and rewatch what you missed. If I was someone that was trying to preorder a PS5 and I found out I might not get it on launch day (because some retailers are saying it might take a few days to a week after release to get the systems) I would give up and wait until the crazy died down.
Yup and we had even asked if they could leave the dog and kid at home. I understand that their dog is almost 15 years old, but she randomly has issues with other dogs (she's tried to attack one of ours) so I would think common sense would say leave the dog home. I really hope everything is in one piece too. There are a few things that I packed up that were supposed to come to my parents with me and I have no clue where they ended up, so I hope I find them easily later.
Wow, that's awful. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Sounds kind of like the apartment I lived in. If anything needed to be fixed we had to put in a maintenance request, sometimes they were prompt other times not so much. The company that owned the complex was based in Texas, so the rent checks were scanned on a special scanner to be deposited. They scanned one of my checks wrong and the check didn't clear (I had more than enough to cover rent). I had to really stand my ground to get the 'bounced' check back so I could shred it because they were just going to keep it in a file. That light sounds like the porch light at the place I just left. It was set for motion control and you had to flick it on and off three times just so the light would stay on.
Yes, I would prefer to have this freezer working for as long as possible. At some point, we will probably upgrade to a bigger freezer but that is years away.
I get sleepy at random times during the day, like 10 a.m. or 3 p.m. Whenever I get sleepy in the afternoon, it's always too late to take a nap. When Chris is gone for drill, I always tell myself to not stay up late, then the next thing I know, it's 11:30 p.m.
Oh no! I hope the tree didn't do too much damage to your house.
I wish they would start Morostide early instead of waiting until late October, just so we have something to do because it's been boring. It says mid October but I think I remember it starting late last year.

We are definitely going to have to replace some shingles, but I hope that's where it stops. I'm more concerned with structural damage.
[item=Dappled Unicorn]
[item=Great White Shark]
I would be fine with Morostide starting earlier this year. My husband and I are moving into our house next week and I'm going to be busy unpacking for at least a week after that. I'd like to enjoy some of the holiday before things get hectic on my end.
Fingers crossed that you only have to replace shingles hugs I hope the tree didn't put any holes in the roof. Is there any more bad weather expected to move through?
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I try to make lists and plans, but usually someone will mess it all up :( Oh yay! Then I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
Sounds like such a pain. I want to buy a house one day, but not sure I could handle all the stress that goes with it. I am sure that is one thing you are going to change as soon as you can lol.
OMG it is so awful when they escape 0_0 freaks me out! I always worry that they are going to crawl on me.
Now I have been waking up with everything all stuffy and then spend the rest of the day just feeling bleh!
Most of our thrift stores are going for some odd reason. If I want to go to one I have to drive at least 30 minutes. Not something I really want to do lol. Yeah they should at least put up signs,
When Emily was in school our "brilliant" eye roll school district decided it would be a great idea to close a bunch of the elementary schools and turn 2 into "upper" elementary schools, Now the kids go to elementary, upper elementary, middle school and then high school. 0_0 I don't see how they saved money by doing this! Schools these days have changed so much that it is crazy. Plus it is great that you know what your child is being taught at all times!
We need to branch out and try more games. I tend to squeeze the controller when I get aggravated lol.
They always make it seem way too easy.
Yep thankfully you can still order online, but it doesn't seem like they have a whole ton of stuff to choose from. I wont buy anything that looks fake. I am too paranoid about getting ripped off.
Yes and I have way too many distractions going around me, so I know I would miss a lot. Same! I am not in the mood to deal with crazy lol.
Oh geeze you would deff think they would use common sense if their dog is like that. Too bad common sense isn't all that common anymore :( That is the worst part about packing. Suddenly realizing you can't find stuff!
We have to do that too and I hate it. At least with our old landlords all we had to do was make a phone call, Oh I don't blame you on that! I would have demanded the chack back too. Just glad you got it resolved. We have to pay our rent online and I am not a big fan. Our light is just junk lol.
Having an extra freezer deff comes in handy! One day if we ever get a house we will deff have one.
Yeah I always get sleepy at the wrong times. It is weird how time drags at certain points during the day and then suddenly at night it just flies by!
It would be great if it starts sometime next week.
I hope everything is ok now hugs I will be keeping good thoughts for you!

I would be surprised if Morostide started next week. This weekend would be nice since I'm off work on Monday. But it seems like it starts later every year.
