We separate out our representatives mostly buy numbers within each state boundary as well. Yes, I had wondered how many wards there were and how many were per ward. Thanks for utilizing the terms for your government, I always love to learn and want to use the correct terms. I bet it can get tricky to know who you are voting for! lol It is tricky out here in California sometimes but mostly it's just the random propositions that are always tricky. You have to do a lot of research to know what proposition will hurt or benefit your and everything the most and go from there. never just believe the mailers sent, I prefer to draw my own conclusions. shrug A proposition is just a smaller ballot item that someone wants to pass in order to alter the state or local government code. For example, one proposition that has been making the rounds is whether or not to legalize medical marijuana. I am fairly certain that, at this point, it is legal in just over half of the 50 states.

having to vote for propositions sounds quite complicated! I'm pleased we never have to actually do anything like that, but when I get mailers sent for the elections, I tend to send them back as "unwanted mail" - I prefer to look at the options online and make up my own mind, rather than having them send me mail directly! ;)

I don't think I even passed Harrods when I was in London laughs Although of the four times I've been there, three were for work courses or meetings, so there wasn't as much chance to browse the shops on the way back to the station ;)

Yes, looking at options online is re ally nice thing. I have never thought of sending it back as unwanted mail, I usually just throw it away. How clever! I should do that! I think the people in the USA like to be more hands on when it comes to all sorts of regulations and laws they want to be 'heard' on. You know? So we have to vote on almost everything under the sun. Sometimes it is rather annoying but other times I am glad for the opportunity. Also it gives more jobs and spreads things like power and authority out. One time I even got to work at a pool booth where the votes are collected, it was fun! ^^ I really rally really love your HA btw!!

I tend to open it up, write "not requested or required, please remove from mailing list" then just send it back as unwanted (for us, that goes back free of charge) ;) That makes sense to be able to vote on all those things nods I bet working where they were collecting the votes got quite hectic at times? ;)

If I send it back to sender it is free for me too. I will have to try that to get off mailing lists and see if it works! It was fun to work the voting polls. Most of the time it was not confusing or hectic as most of the people already know what they are going to vote for at the poll. On top of that, it is illegal to do any sort of persuasion or politicking or anything like that at the polling station. :)

I got the cat trousers hemmed, only to find the machine is still leaking oil down the presser foot lever :K (thankfully not on the fabric).

I went to finish my anchor jeans, only to find the button I bought is such high quality, it kind of bent as I was trying to attach it.... ....and still refused to attach to the front piece :K

So I abandoned that and went to work on my other jeans instead, then realised they have mucky stains on the reverse of the fabric - guessing it came like that from the shop (unless that's come off my machine?!) :K ....why do I get the idea that sewing isn't meant to be what I do today?? :P

that definitely helps when they already know how they're going to vote before they get there! ;) I think that's much the same rule over here, with no canvassing or political discussion (or clothing that has a political message on) allowed in the polling stations ;)

Yup, sounds like our polling stations have the same rules. I have come up with a new idea: learn to crotchet or knit. I have decided I want to make a sweater with a fox on it. So I have rented some books from the library to see if it is something I can do. We'll see if it is up my alley or not. I usually do not have the patience for things like that because I'd rather be outside pulling weeds or painting something with lots of color. I like your new puppy HA!

ooooo now that's a neat idea! I never had the patience to knit myself anything wearable, but I did knit my cousin's baby a jacket when he was 6 months old laughs If you try something from thicker yarn (and larger needles or a larger crochet hook) to start with, it's easier to get the hang of, as you're not fiddling around with tiny stitches on small slippery needles! ;) I want to learn Tunisian Crochet at some point, but I never seem to get around to actually sitting down and trying it 😊
