Do you have to pay customs on sites that export to the UK, like Amazon? Or only for sites that don't specifically set it up in their shipping and handling? Or is it a universal tax/tariff on all imported good no matter what. That is a really steep price and really would make you never want to ship from outside the country. I have a family friend who would send us boxes from Germany. I hope he did not have to pay a whole bunch of taxes on boxes we sent in return. :/ I was a younger kid and never thought about that!

Here is one I found at the store called JoAnn, a popular crafts and sewing store in the Western US (sadly all the good fabric stores closed down when I was around 10 years old we have so few to choose from now). Perhaps the specific brand can be found elsewhere? Multi-colored Rainbow. Another brand is Sulky, specifically the 30 Wt Blendable Thread that comes in multi-colored thread. Here is one I found by searching for brand name and UK. multi-colored thread A lot of them say for quilting, embroidery, or decorative stitching, but I've utilized this on a serger and it worked out fine (the second one I sent without the link, and the Gutermann brand). Another UK site is clothkits - IDK how much online shopping you do or if you prefer to shop in person.

at the moment, if it comes from Europe, then there's no customs fees, but I don't know how that'll change next year when we're meant to be leaving the EU. If it's sent as a gift, I think the allowance for the value is £34, but it's purposefully low for purchases, so the government get their taxes! :K I hadn't realised John Lewis sold Gutermann thread! I'll keep an eye out in town, as sometimes their stock ends up in the supermarket (they're sister companies) :D Thanks :D

I really like Gutermann thread but it could be because it was what my mom used so I am biased. lol Well the levy against gifts seems way high to me. lol Are you worried about leaving the EU or do you think it'll be for the better for the country overall? I've heard a wide mix of opinions and reviews on the subject. I tend to lean with whatever is the most fiscally sound and socially stable.
