We're in Portland now! Before we left, we sent to one of the Redwood Parks near Crescent City and drove around there for awhile and found a place to walk around too. It was beautiful. Now to see what Portland will bring lol. We'll be visiting with the hubs cousins while we're here, so they'll probably show us around. Maybe even to to Astoria where the Goonies house is. THat'd be cool.

My eyes are in working order. I do, however, keep a large supply of "unsee" buttons. Perhaps this is why I have no memory of you being nekkid. I don't think I've seen bumper to bumper at 70 mph before so that must have been something to see. Spring has it's moments to this day but I think the areas that are always stressful are Katy and certain areas of 610 and 45 or 59. Spring/Cypress are nerve wrecking for sure still. We came home through Cypress and people were driving like wild animals after their prey and of course they are messing with the lanes so lots of changes taking place unexpectedly. Ugh. I don't care to drive at certain times in the area much less directly in my town, lol.

Lame. When I got my Toyota Rav4...I was led to believe it was 4WD because he knew that was what I was looking for. A year later I find out its front wheel drive. Can't switch it to 4WD. -_- My dad was supposed to look it over and everything. He didn't do that. I have a rear light that takes on water when it rains and it is not supposed to do that. At least it hasn't been rejected for state inspection. I've complained to my uncle and he's told me the next time I go car shopping to call him and he'll help me and he'll also get help from his mechanic friend in Richmond. My dad only cares about what he buys for himself and no one else.

Dang. Are you able to like sue him for that money you spend doing that work yourself? Especially if you can get the people who told you there was compensation for the work they did while living there as well? I really hope you get that loan!!!

I've missed all of you too! I'm so sorry to hear about your dad passing away, I can't even imagine how hard that must be to deal with. all the hugs But I totally understand wanting your own place. I was 26 also when I got to finally live independently and it's fabulous! Nothing like being able to do what you want, when you want! Ack, back when I lived in a plave with central air, I remember it going out before. Of course it only happens the week the temperature was in the 100's HISS and I was pretty sure I was going to die. I don't tolerate heat well. I'm pretty sure I could move to Alaska and love it. <3

I didn't get around to looking at Toyota's after I was looking at one of the new HR-V (I think that's what it is) and it didn't have AWD. Which if I'm being honest I don't know why he wanted that so badly, we wont be using it during the Winter unless we move or travel where it's icy and I don't drive in the rain that often enough so it seems like a useless item for us. Now for four wheel drive for the Rav4 I would think that would be the indicator it has four wheel drive after numerous searches on them... unless it's only in specific trims which is is almost always the case. I hate that they toy with people like that. I spent several months going back and forth. I am currently seconding guessing if I should have looked a little longer and test drove a few different cars. Lesson learned for the next time, if ever there is a next time. I did that to myself because I'm in an awkward phase in my stupid useless life where I seem to have lost my voice in some situations and it's down right pissing me off every time I think about it.

: It seems that humans are driving like Jahu all over the world. Here in the Central Valley of the land of California, the humans are building a High Speed choo-choo so that humans can go even faster. However, the construction of this monster is causing major traffic difficulties. There are miles of closed lanes of traffic, detours, lots of honking and stopping on the road. At night it is a sea of red tail-lamps that resembles the vast parking lots of Los Angeles near the 110, 10, 405 and 5, but in Fresno, alas. Is it required to carry a gun and wave it around furiously whilst driving in California?

if I'm not mistaken Katy now has six lanes on both sides, lol. It helps but there are times it's still backed up. Spring has sprouted some with more folks moving here from natural disasters to other reasons like job opportunities. Cypress is still sort of small-ish but I don't travel over that way unless I'm going to the outlets (rare) or the drive in theater but I haven't been there in some time. Also, have to drive that way to go to a holiday place outside college station, lol.

sounds like a major headache and a lot of frustrated folks. Also sounds a lot like how they do things here when adding new infrastructure. Can't say that people need to be carrying guns to wave 'em around but then again that sounds like an issue with the state allowing them to have 'em. We're in Washington now, in Seattle. Tomorrow will be our full day to do things around the city and then we're flying out on Tuesday back to Texas. The weather on this trip has been amazing, I don't want to go back to the heat cries I didn't know babies in the womb would remember trips. How interesting.

Hawaii is VERY expensive, mainly because everything foodwise with the exception of local produce, boar, fish and chicken have to be imported from the Mainland so without exaggeration you may be paying $20 for a gallon of milk

How did you manage to do that? I keep getting a bruise on my thigh. I think it is from Abigail jumping up on me. But it kept coming back in the exact same place and would keep getting worse before getting better. And her jumping on me is like the only thing I can think of. Although now that I am no longer taking ibuprofen or the prescription version of it, i'm not bruising as easily anymore. Abigail is a puppy...a large puppy...very hardheaded puppy. She's technically done with puppy classes but they aren't happy with the level she is at and she won't even listen to them. She's probably like close to 6months old now. Her mama is a golden retriever and her papa is a great pyrenese (spelling) and akbash mix. We got her in April.

Test driving is definitely key. Although I haven't test drove a lot of vehicles because when I was doing it, most vehicles didn't have a seat that went up (not forward but up) and I could not see over top the windshield wipers. Which is why I stuck with VW for my first 2 vehicles. Got a RAV4 because it's what my uncle recommended. Now if my uncle and another cousin is in town and I drop by, there's 3 Rav4s at my grandmother's. XD So it was a very recommended car and I liked how it drove when I test drove it. If you go off road any even if it is a "normal" road that is dirt or gravel, the 4WD or AWD would be nice to have. Now here...I would say it is recommended because we do get snow. Also...mountains. Next car I have a feeling I am going with Subaru unless I end up not liking the drive and if I can see out the windshield or not. But that's because basically everything that have usually either 4WD or AWD and they are supposed to be very decent cars. Honestly...I've never had a voice. And when I do have one, I get ridiculed and get called names. So I mostly never speak up for myself at all. I basically have zero self-esteem. And when I go get compliments I feel like people are lying to me because I basically never get them except for from my mom. Although I do have one friend I can trust. Two more I hang out with but not sure if they are just being nice and lying or if they actually mean it. The one I've known for slightly over a year now and the other like two months. But the 3 of us have hung out and gone shopping a few times now and I have a lot of fun with them and I'm never the third wheel with them like I usually am when out with multiple friends.

well you know how short I am so if I can't get in and out with ease or see past the dash then I don't look any further, lol. The upside is the Kona has a way of helping you see up and over and you can adjust to your needs both mechanical and non-mechanical. Comes with AWD for sure that can be turned on and off with ease so that's a plus. I just wish I had test drove some other vehicles is all to make sure. It's a big purchase and I didn't speak up. I'm glad I was able to talk it out with my husband and we were thinking about trying to return it for something else of the same value, maybe. I don't know. I'm hesitant because I don't want to pay more for the change even though it's been a few weeks. I did find my neighbors kona on the dealer website back up for sale so IF I do decide to do so I know they will be able to sell it for more since she racked up almost 7k on hers, lol.

I can relate to the low self-esteem, I've been in a slump. I shared that I felt like I lost myself to be able to step up and say NO or what have you if it's not what I want. And I'm thankful he understood. It is difficult to trust folks but over time you'll know when someone is lying to you and when it's in your head. <3
