I wanted a one word name, something without under scores, dashes or periods, but also it had to have meaning or dual meanings and I am very, very fond of French and cats. My original idea was to do a tribute name for a resident who passed, retired AF Colonel, pilot in The Big One and later went to Counter Intelligence, when he was Sundowning, I was his Aide de Camp, Capt DuBois (Jean Antoine) he had overheard me speaking in French to another resident so I was a NATO assigned Liason so was playing with the idea of going with DuBois as a un, but when he was passing I was 'Dad' and it just made me sad to think about

hugs It's sad when a resident we grow close too passes away. I can understand the tribute, maybe have that as the name of the pet you get.

Last few days have stunk. Hunter (old man doggie) wasn't feeling good still. Had been throwing up and no poop for several days. Brought to vet. He checked him over. Nothing stopping up the poop and by time I brought him in no vomit for 24 hours. Very felt that since he was still a bit congested the phlegm was going into his stomach causing the vomiting. And with nothing to digest stopping the poop. I was to keep eye on him to make sure didn't get worse. that was Thursday. He has since pooped and vomiting has mostly stopped. He had a small one yesterday.

Learned while at vet they running a neuter special. So going to get my boys all done this month. Since finding that out a few of my boys suddenly became aggressive with each other last 3 days. I got caught in one of the fights and my wrist/ hands are in bad shape. I'm holding off going to dr. Hoping they aren't infected since it was teeth. They sting/ hurt right now but it's only been 24 hours. It's a little pink but dont think swollen.i will go to dr if have to Monday or Tuesday tho if gets worse.

I hope Hunter pup is feeling much better soon. Elderly pets do like to give us scares. I'm glad he has good Drs.

Oh, bad kitties! For the bites, I would soak your hand in hot salt water. Make it really salty and as hot as you can stand it. It will help kill any bugs they may have shared and draw out anything trying to get infected in there. After soaking for 15-30 min, you can put triple antibiotic ointment on it and wrap or bandage as needed.

I had a super cranky fat boy cat who bit my hand into the muscle once. I couldn't get to a Dr because of a huge storm and holiday so they said to do that and it never got infected though it hurt like heck for a few weeks. I've done that for various other punctures given by pets or other things when I couldn't go to DR immediately (I'm current on tentanus.) and it helps with some of the pain too.

~ My cats passed around an upper respiratory infection last month.. one by one they got sick. Some of them vomited and it scared me but the vet said it was probably post nasal drip causing the vomiting. I hope Hunter continues to get better!

by 'your boys' do you mean cats? Ouch!! I usually try to get mine neutered by five months old to prevent the aggression and I don't want them spraying either!! Two of my boys, litter mates, still fight on occasion with each other I think over who is top cat lol! It's not too bad. What I don't like is they go after the more docile females on occasion :(

Keep those hands washed constantly and apply medicine if you can. You might want to go get a tetanus shot if it's been more than 7-10 years since your last one, just in case. I got bit by a mouse (long story) and had to get my tetanus updated. I hope you feel better soon too!

keep hitting it with peroxide and triple antibiotic lotion. keep them under wraps. Should heal.

I'm glad to hear that your puppy is improving. :) Ouch! :( I'm hoping once they get fixed that it will calm them down soon. I have lots of battle scars from my cats, but besides from a few nips they never nailed me that bad. :( I got them both from the shelter though and they fix them before you can even adopt them out. Keep your wound clean and if the redness spreads or pussy discharge starts coming out you probably need to go and get it checked out. Can you separate the cats that are fighting until you get them fixed?

So far it seems okay. Still stings and hurts but it's in an odd spot on wrist.

It's a long story. I should have gotten my cats and stray cats fixed. But had a money set back and the population exploded. My money went to treatment of my one dog. He developed diabetes and took months to regulate his blood levels. Then he had a $1000 surgery for cancer and then shortly after passed away. During that time I had to make a trip home for my mom's funeral. It was a horrible time period. Just to catch up money I got a roommate after living alone for 6 years.

I don't have it bandaged. But seems to be okay.

I've been keeping the kitties caged. Today has been a good day. They haven't been bad. They've actually been mostly getting along. A small hiss but they moved on from each other.

Happy New Year my loves. Holiday is over, I'm back to work at Healer's Hall today and I'm still being bothered by a recurring upper respiratory infection that I've suffered with since September. The best thing I've done for relief is the hot toddy I recommended for : ginger, lemon juice, honey and cayenne. But it doesn't cure the disease. Maybe a vetrinarnian human can help with that.

I'm glad Hunter is doing better, poor dear. But you, Darling! Your poor hands/wrists :( Don't put off the doctor visit too long, Dearest. When you were bitten, what did you put on them? Cold water, warm water, rubbing alcohol or a salve?

Im sorry to hear of all your pet troubles, I still have a couple of scars from feisty kitties.
I always swear by warm water, honey lemon and 1/4 tsp cumin powder, its a very good cleanser, google it for info, Im not sure if furry beings can have cumin.

Yea I am thinking these marks will leave a few scars for a little while. I have a tiny scar on my wrist from a cat I owned 20 years ago. Kinda of a permanent reminder of her.

Hunter is doing okay. He is doing his doggy poop pretty regular now. I don't think he appreciated my help today making straining noises for him as he went tho. LOL
The kitties have mostly calmed their butts down. Few growls and hisses here and there but no drag out fights. I have all 8 boys scheduled next Wed and Thurs to get their kitty balls snipped. I was going to pace it out more BUT figured best to have them all recovering roughly at the same time. Gonna be a strain money wise but it will be worth it in the long run esp since they are breaking out in fights from time to time now. I have 3 boys that are 2, 3 boys that are 1 and 2 boys that are 8 months. Not all of them are in fight mood tho. Only about 4 of them are at it..with an occassional 5th one adding his two cents in cus they involve him with attitude.
