and :( Not happy to have my weapons or scrolls chosen for me. I am not an experienced battler and I like to see what works for me. This seems to take that away from me.

Seems like I'm the odd one out here. I absolutely love the auto-selected weapons, I more or less default to the same two weapons unless I'm experimenting with something new. I really don't want the auto-selection removed. Either let people choose which weapons they want preselected, or allow people to disable that entirely, but this is a very useful feature.

The best way to be happy with someone is to be happy alone. That way, company is a matter of choice and not a necessity.

- Number of clicks isn't the only way to judge the effectiveness of a UI update.

The new format for scrolls and potions removes the visual/spacial information we had before. Now we have to open the dropdown menu and take time to process the wall of text that comes up. Before, I knew roughly where my items were on the page and could quickly differentiate them by color. This is a big step backwards for me.

I can't really explain why I don't like the new weapon selection. It might be a kneejerk reaction to change that I'll get over eventually, but we'll see.

I like the auto-select for weapon choice (just because the screen loads with certain things selected doesn't mean you have to make your turn with those selections), but I'm less of a fan with scrolls , since it does add an extra click to be able to change it.

I'm sure I'll get used to it though, or be able to figure out how to optimize it for how I battle. c:

The amount of clicks it takes to select your two weapons with the old UI was two. The amount of clicks to change your weapons with the new UI? Also two. There&;s no real change there. It&;s still probably faster due to the images being more condensed.
Not exactly. For one thing, I don't always use two weapons. Also sometimes I miss click. I would rather deal with using only one of the weapons I intended to use, than possibly having a one use weapon or healer used by default because I missed something.

Finally, you have all the non selected weapons grayed out which makes it difficult for me to even see them. Before I could see everything and just choose what I wanted, that is much harder for me now. (I have the same trouble with prices in shop search, for example). I need those full color graphics back.

Same can be said for scrolls. Most people have a go-to scroll which they use on the majority of turns, so having a pre-selected scroll is a big help. The time required to change scrolls is about the same as it would have taken to click on the scroll you wanted to use under the old UI.
Again, not exactly. Since I clicked on my scrolls by position, I didn't have to stop and page through a drop down list and then try to make sure I got the right text. Reading the text is much harder than picking the graphic - and the positioning is no longer an option.

Yes, that exactly. We don't all process information the same way. You really have made things a lot more difficult for me and it's not just that it's new or that it's a change from what was there before.

I like the preselected weapons and scrolls. I just rearranged my weapons to use the first two I normally would use for my BQs. If you rearrange your weapons to your go to items. It will make your BQ a tad bit easier. If you use your freezer and blaster on your first turn make that first. They're OPB so they disappear and then you can use your attackers. Let's give this a chance.

Can we have an end battle button somewhere so it'll save us time to go to the statistics page?

does it mean that soon the big change that was talked about 1-2 years ago (with more loot and tier changes and stuff) is coming?

i was a little more on the displeased side about the auto selected weapons, until i realized you don't have to UNCLICK them to click another. (which would make it 4 vs 2 clicks, tho tbh i don't judge by amount of clicks)

i do have to agree with Speiro and arixen, not being able to see my potions and scrolls' images is offputting. it makes it super difficult to differentiate. i'm glad that they change the img above when you select them, but it would be 100% easier/better if you could long-hover over them (or, yknow, many item) in battle to see their info, like icons and effects.

I understand that the visual aspect is a big change in regards to the scrolls and the potions. I also had my scrolls in a pre-determined order and knew where everything was. But it didn't take me long at all to get accustomed to the drop-down list.

I keep my healer scroll in the first slot now. Meaning I have to switch my scroll selection every time I want to use something else. For me, that's not that big of a deal.

- I respectfully disagree with giving this a chance. Just putting my freezer and blaster first doesn't fix the basic problem. They disappear, but I still don't use two main weapons after that. It's still much harder for me to find weapons that are grayed out (I already dislike the eyestrain I get from trying to read grayed out prices while questing, for example).

Also, I am highly visual and spacial in how I process a page. I almost never use two weapons that are positioned together because I sort my weapons by function to help me pick what I need to use.

And the drop down lists are completely nonfunctional for me.

Also, I now have to stop and try to scroll through the battle text which I could just glance at before. And since I'm still working to learn to see and react to those icons and messages, my BQs would take a lot more time. I have enough trouble with Surge as it is.

Sorry, but for me, this will probably be an end to any sort of serious battling unless something changes. It''s sort of the last straw that makes what was challenging and difficult, but still fun, a real problem.

I'm glad that worked for you. But you are a much more experienced battler and the changes were made in a way that already made sense for you. Maybe your eyesight is better than mine. Maybe you are less strongly visually oriented. Maybe you already know all the scrolls and weapons and the text is adequate to tell you what you're selecting. This isn't just a matter of getting used to a drop down list. It's much more of a problem than that for me. (I have an MS in computer science, I worked as a software developer for years, I helped write the code for the first release of cellular telephone in the US. I can handle drop down lists. But they say "a picture is worth 1000 words" for a reason.)

Not a fan of the drop down menus for scrolls and potions. I found it faster to search by potion item image than by searching for the name of the potion or pylonic I want to use. I have a ton of potions and scrolling through all of them to find the name of the one I want feels like more work than from the old layout. Similar for scrolls. I had them all set up in a way where I can easily identify where each scroll is to use, now it takes time to look for the name in the drop down list. Having everything to the right side of battling also make it look cluttered. I still find myself scrolling to select the next turn button. I do like the font and how the weapons are displayed but overall everything just feels cramped.

and I like pretty much most of it, thanks.

I'm with on the dropdown menu for the potions, I remember what plyonics I use mainly by there colours/visual a part from 2 I know what they do.

Could we have an option to either have a Dropdown Menu or a Visual setup? for the potions. It'll seem better for us the users, to have the option we prefer.

Thank you [Kiss=smilesnz] [Dance=smilesnz] [Flower=smilesnz]

Oh my god this looks amazing!! I'm supposed to be heading to bed so I don't have a lot of time to test it.... but my first test run was marvelous. I must say it is a great improvement! I will no longer have to dread all of the scrolling and for that I am thrilled!

The only other thing I could possibly wish for as far as Battle Pages go is a way to quick-view how many times my active pet has beaten the challengers on the challenge page so that I know exactly who else needs to be beaten up 5 times. It gets pretty difficult to keep track of that with several pets at varying tiers.

Yes to all of that. And especially the part about everything feeling cramped - that puts into words part of what I was feeling but couldn't express. Thank you.

This sounded great, so I dashed in to try it out. Hadn't realised though just how much I rely on the images and colour rather than the names of potions and scrolls, and that I usually work from right to left when selecting weapons, heh. Battles are going to take me a heck of a lot longer, though I know it will suit a lot of hardcore battlers. Can't honestly say I'm keen on the changes. And I miss how colourful the battle page used to be with all my stuff lined up and looking gorgeous and instantly recognisable.
