Outsourced customer service is in no way customer service.

You know, even in a crap job, it doesn't take much to keep staff happy. Feeling appreciated, for example is a huge one. I've had a boss just say "I know we don't pay you enough to deal with this stuff, so thank you" made me feel good about a crap job for months! And it cost the company nothing at all.

As a customer, I've also dealt with obviously unhappy staff, and it really made me not want to patronize that company. If they don't care about the people they deal with everyday, who do stuff for them, they won't care about me either if I run into problems with the product. If they penny pinch their staff, they're also going to penny pinch their product - so another reason not to spend my money with them.

I think we are at a point where most employers don't really care what the customer wants if it going to cost them money. Sure, there are some great companies out there ( or, so I hear) but they are few and far between and not for someone like me who just needs to make a living. Blah. I hate life sometimes. A lot of times.

This is getting depressing. LOL now I'm at point where I'm thinking, its not only companies. Customers and staff hold some responsibilities too. As customers we often don't care enough, as long as we can save a buck. Or worse, act like entitled shits.

Some staff will take advantage of companies too - maybe they've worked at too many companies who don't care about staff and abuse them as much as possible, so if they do happen to get a job at one of the few good companies around, they're still in the mindset of fighting the company in whatever subtle ways they can. And such staff make companies feel justified when they, in turn, stiff staff. The bad stuff keeps feeding off more bad stuff and the situation continues to deteriorate with each side feeling justified in whatever they do.

I agree with you. I know of people in our company that do exactly as you described. There is actually a girl (okay, she is 30 something so girl to me!) who has gotten so many warning for being late that it would take just one more within a certain time period for her to be fired. They start falling off though, in a couple weeks. And she has announced how she can't wait for that to happen so she can be late again.

Ugh, school has started.... This is not going to be fun...

Yeah, I was hoping for something different too. Even though I've finally used one of the 5 extra slots I have from previous events.

One of the problems when you're out of lock-step with everyone else. For most this would be a last hurrah right before school starts. Hopefully you'll manage to find a few minutes here and there to quest between being exhausted and frantic.

Personally, the time is not too bad. I have a house guest visiting, but he'll be leaving sometime tomorrow, so while questing will probably end up being a time crush near the end of the day, it shouldn't be too bad. My guest will be back next weekend, so the last two days are going to be a problem too.

: this one's also at a ridiculous time for me. Orientation + first day of class? I'll TOTALLY have time for this one. :/

I forgot to post here yesterday. Like I got all my quests done (even Sarah), but wasn't able to track profits. My house guest took most of my time and I ran to the computer to do a quest here and there through the day and my guy did some for me as well.

I can add that I didn't get a single mage amulet, but I got 3 WL items, so I guess that part was nice :).

I managed some quests yesterday though not nearly all. Unless the rest of the week is better than the first day on the new job was I doubt I will be doing many throughout the week. Sorry to crap out on you all.

not problems really, just overwhelming. and a long walk down a hill from my car to the building and back at the end of the day and hard uncomfortable narrow chairs to sit on for the rest of my life nothing that couldnt be solved by losing a hundred pounds or so

Bleah. Eclipse traffic turned a 3-hour drive into nearly a 5 hour drive, so I didn't make it back to a computer until after midnight. I had visited the baths this morning and done about half of the quests (Carl, Cinthia, Cursed, Library, Maleria, a few Petes -- boring me does them alphabetically except that Shinwa has to come first.)

Whole-site-wise, we're behind schedule; I'm wondering if a last-day "miracle" will happen again. :/

I've not accomplished any again =/
