Also - pricing everything at 50M would only work for some items. If there are more than one page of shop search results, your shop will only show up as a move option if your item is priced near the typical user shop sell value.

Are you sure about that? I thought it showed up no matter what. I need to test it out, haha

Well, look at you knowing what you are talking about, AS USUAL

I really did think it didn't matter what you priced your stuff at as long as it was in your shop! STUPID

LOL I tested it out when the remove from shop option first showed up. And its not a stupid assumption, I figured the same thing. When I first tested, the items did show up, and so I thought all was well. It wasn't until I'd transferred more items from storage to a shop and was questing that I discovered the limitation.

I think the reason it happens is in order to use less resources Subeta doesn't look for ALL instances of an item, just the first X number of results, so if your shop doesn't show up within that number, it won't show.

Well it should only make you feel a little better. When I actually pause to think about it, combined with the small amount of actual programming knowledge I have, it is a silly assumption.

We often forget that computers don't work in the same way that human brains do. We make connections - so that when similar things happen, we only need to call up a small amount of references. Computers, on the other hand, don't make those connections, so they have to call up all the references each time. So, when programming, it makes sense to put in limits, to add arbitrary cut-offs so the computer isn't wasting resources.

- Thank you for this fun activity! Perhaps I'll get into a questing routine more on weekends now, again. I'll sMail you shortly with prize info :)

- I'm sorry to hear you're in a funk with Georgie and that's why you haven't been here :/ hugs

- My friend has to do something similar in Australia, but for different reasons. She also has to leave the country every 90 days. It's so strange. I'm hoping you get it resolved in your favor in the next three months!

So apparently there will be another quest-a-thon coming up "this summer" (">https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/875565/QuestAThon/2/) and I would like to do some form of this again. I have some good ideas of what not to do. What would you actually want to do? Actually, if someone else wants to run it I am more than willing to supply prizes. So, think about it.

Speaking of prizes....Marlboro and Osterizer, you still have not chosen anything. Please don't force me to choose for you! Knowing me it will be a dress or something and then we will all laugh and point ;)

Meh, okay. "Riverside Beaver Dams" from the RB shop. I haven't bothered getting an extra copy to read yet. Thanks.

I've been thinking about it, but don't really have any ideas.

Objectives:

  1. Make questing less tedious - or at least add a reason to do it.
  2. Make opportunities to chat and team build.
  3. Don't make questing more difficult or time consuming.

How to reach objectives:

  1. Maybe make it truly a team effort - so like the main quest-a-thon success is contingent on our total questing, not on how we do individually? I know we don't all have the same amount of time to put in, but maybe we set what we consider to be achievable goals - like say someone with a lot of time pledges to do 100 quests a day, or someone with less time and no GA pledges to do 10 a day. Or is that too much stress/pressure - someone may end up trying to quest when they really should be resting or working or something?
  2. Do it pretty similar to how this one went. I really enjoyed the tracking aspect - sure it took a bit more time, but it was quite interesting. Of course, now that its been done once, will it just end up boring and an extra chore?
  3. Or something totally off the wall, like whoever's running it dresses as a specific quester and everyone must do at least those quests that day.
  4. There must lots more possibilities but I'm just not generating much ideas. And I haven't addressed item 2.

I think you have some really good ideas. I particularly like the one of dressing as one of the quest givers each day.

I am afraid this might turn into one person doing more than their fair share. Not that everyone wouldn't try but things just happen. As for me, we are moving offices soon and when we do there are going to be cameras over our shoulders watching everything we do. I CAN HARDLY WAIT. So that means sneaking on here will be impossible. :/

Ewwww cameras, that sucks big time. You know I get that the company wants their workers to work - that's what they're paid for after all, but a job like yours where the work is intermittent, well make-work or pretending to work is the worst. Not to mention that cameras foster an adversarial relationship - a management vs. staff atmosphere. If management feels they can't trust staff, then how can staff trust management?

As for the quest issue, I agree that item 1 does have some issues, but I still mentioned it because I like the idea of all of us working together. I just wish I could think of something that would make that happen without making people feel guilty for not having enough time to fully participate, while not overwhelming people who do have time.

that is exactly it. For now it is pretty much up to our supervisor. But the company is continually turning the screw making things tighter and tighter, making us more and more unhappy. All the while they promise more and more. Meanwhile, I have been here almost 2 years now and we still do not have fully functioning bathrooms. Two stalls for a whole bunch of women. One day we were down to one stall. It was hell!

Aren't there laws about bathrooms in worker's rights or some such???? LOL though the fact that there needs to be laws addressing workers' rights to pee says a great deal about the typical workplace culture.

I know I've said it before, but I just don't understand company attitudes. Studies show that happy workers are better, more productive workers. Unhappy workers quit, so on top of that you have to waste money training new workers and lower productivity until they get into the swing of things. I don't even need to get into ethics and such because its just a stupid business model to make employees miserable.

And yet we are the people that get screamed at by the miserable (sometimes rightly so) customers. Bottom of the totem pole, as it were. We should make loads more money and have better workplaces just because we keep them from having to deal with all the drudge. It is why so many companies end up having to outsource their customer service. It sucks.

I love when people say to me OH YOU MUST OWN LOTS OF BERETTAS! um, no, I work for them so I can't afford them
