Magnus waved to Keet, Poppy and Millie as he slipped over and started looking at the food options.

"Hi Rosie, 'ow are you?"

, , Sam chuckled "no dragon eggs for me as yet, but not for lack of trying.... No. Seriously tho' Mom caught me corresponding with a dragonologist in South America about possibly attempting to use parsletongue to communicate with Peruvian viperteeth, and freaked out. I'd never'uv tried to sneak one into the house, that'd be like trying to carry ashwinder eggs in a wooden crate, but mom thinks I'm obsessed with dragons and doesn't believe me." Sam laughed again as she returned 's wave "I've been totally grounded lately, the folks hardly let me outta their sight. I spend so much time at the bank, where my dad can keep an eye on me, I think I'm becoming a goblin. That must have been something special in the invitation letter for them to let me out"

"Yes, Paul is great help and gets along with Gabe so well, they kinda think alike in many things and are doing such an excellent job there. I'm impressed, but I may need to steal the passwords or something because now they want to control my entries. I'm not amused!."

Merlin smiled at and waved with one hand to her.

Merlin waved back at who just arrived and gave a big smile so she will feel welcome.

Like a silly little thing, Merlin waved rapidly to who arrived and went to speak with friends, but he was thinking about running and hugging her, but decided to control himself, he was with school friends and he haven't shown his hugging side that often yet.

"Sounds nice! Gabriel just got a new owl and I may need a new cat soon, mine is starting to give signs of goodbye, it's so old, but I wish he lives more."

Merlin saw food and quickly grabbed potato salad. "I'm hungry, as usual." He bumped into at the tables and smiles. "Hey Millie, how are ya? I recommend the potato salad, it's delicious."

"I can talk to dragons, but mostly because I'm a dragon too, well sort of. But that sounds interesting, about the parseltongue. I fly with one vipertooth frequently because he is best friends with my Meolc, my pet dragon." Merlin wondered if what he just said sounded strange or not.

"I'm so jealous, I've got to meet Meolc someday. I totally wish I could talk to dragons. Still if I can do anything to help more wizards to understand dragons. Basilisks can understand Parseltongue, so dragons might as well.

“Ooh,” Magnus said, “that’d be cool to find out if it worked. I can see why you’d be interested and why they’d be nervous.”

“Yeah they were best buds on first sight,” Magnus said. He knew Merlin wouldn’t be happy about the passwords but it was probably better if he didn’t know them. “Well, I’m sure if you asked ‘e might give you some of them.”

"I don't know the snakes tongue but if you do, maybe you can try it and test it, but the vipertooth is not a snake, it only has poison on its fangs and that's why it got the name but maybe they are somehow related so testing it can be no harm." Merlin smiles and wondered about the idea.

"Seems so." He smiles thinking about them. "I only have permission with Meolc so far, it sucks because they know I talk to them and I thought I would be able to access from above but no, Paul said closing the walking entrance wasn't enough." He rolled his eyes.

"Paul's paranoid so, yeah," Magnus said, "that place might be locked more tight than Azkaban if Gabe lets 'im."

"Yeah, the wizard in South America said the same thing, an' none of the simple phrases I sent him to try got any different response. It's just they have so many similarities. The venom delivery system in a vipertooth is identical to both a basilisk and a rattlesnake, so there's a chance they may have been related somewhere in the past. Maybe if I can try to teach you Parseltongue an' you can try to teach me dragon, we can find some links between the two? M'dad sez it's not something you can teach, y'hafta be born with it..., but he's been wrong before." I dunno, think it might be worth a try?" Something tells me Paul and Gabe are not going to be an easy combination to get around.., but hey, even Axkaban got broken into." She laughed "'course if I ever want to use my broom again I'm going to have to actually not break any more rules for a while."

"True, but Paul had guard duty often at Azkaban sometimes. Aurors, they are cool but they love their spells. At least you got some freedom today, eh Sam?"

Amen to that! What say we check out some of that food that smells so good?
Spotting a fellow Slytherin ( ) near the tables, she was about to greet Elizabeth when she spotted the snake curled around her neck. "Hello, you're new" she hissed to the little king snake delightedly.

"Yes, food. Food is good." He beamed.

Rosie answered Magnus and Merlin. Her holiday hadn't been anything exciting or different from her usual. Though with the improving weather and flowers blooming in the garden she had spend quite some time outside too. There had been one special highlight, if you could even call it that. Her family had gone to a magic toy exhibition which also had the first muggle automatons. The intricate details on those contraptions had interested her somewhat. Her grandparents had thought it was important for her education to see the collection. She didn't think it worth mentioning.

With Merlin's go ahead she hesitantly reached out to the snake. She carefully patted him on the head with her index finger and glided her fingertips over the shimmering scales. "He's so beautiful." she marveled softly stroking him. Her attention shifted to the prettily dressed girl who had introduced herself as Keet. She smiled wildly at her compliment. "Thank you." she said blushing slightly. "You can never have enough sparkles to choose from." she added with a wink. Then Poppy complimented her dress and her blush intensified. "I really like your sweater." she returned. "I'm going to grab a drink." Rosie muttered and left for the refreshments.

At the table a girl in a watermelon patterned dress stood looking over the options. The food smelled amazing and looked quite appetizing. However Rosie had her breakfast not too long ago so she didn't want to start to early on with a late lunch. Soon she spotted the drinks and chose an iced tea. "Your dress is lovely." she complimented the girl. "I don't think I've seen you before. I'm Rosie and you....?" she introduced herself with a small smile. "So many faces I haven't seen before actually." she muttered her gaze flickering across them all.

The Leaky Cauldron had been totally transformed by the attentions of Gaia and Harper (). The food and flowers made the room smell amazing and the enchanted fireworks display was beautiful.

Millie (), Magnus (), Merlin (), and Sam () were all taking food and/or drink. Poppy chose a pineapple juice and a roasted pork sandwich. She had been too busy earlier that morning for a real breakfast.

"I feel the same way about getting to know new students every term," Poppy said reassuringly as she overheard Rosie () who was behind Millie at the beverage table. She couldn't help beaming at Merlin, who seemed totally in his element chatting and managing a big plate of potato salad. "That looks good. I'll have to go back for seconds," Poppy said. She considered social butterfly Merlin to be a great fit to help lead Slytherin House as a Prefect.

"I 'ope that's been fun," Magnus said unsure. "Mum's done qudditch practice with me and took another art course at the community centre." He didn't really know what else to say

"Oh," Magnus said watching Poppy take a pork sandwich, "that looks good, I think I'll 'ave one too." He took the sandwich as well as some crisps and fruit, though he ignored the pineapple.

"Oh it was. Just nothing I hadn't done before. There's a small performance during the summer break where I'm going to dance with the little ones and play violin for another group. Practice for those is going to start in a few weeks. Like I can practice the music by myself, but the kiddie class is something I got to be with." Rosie told Magnus sipping on her drink. "Sounds like you had fun too." she nodded and followed Magnus to the food. She considered taking some fruit and ended up choosing a cup with some kiwi, grapes and apple pieces in it. Rosie giggled a bit when Magnus skipped the pineapple.

"That sounds nice," Magnus said. He nodded. "Been spending time with friends and their parents too. Its been a nice 'oliday." She noticed he skipped the pineapple and he blushed. "We 'ave an auror friend whose deathly allergic. So I knida stopped eating it to be safe around 'im."

Dad talked to a few pet shop owners and took home the cats that have been waiting for owners the longest. They have their own little hut basically. That was an interesting new adventure this summer."

Gaia moved towards Poppy () "Trying new shades in my hair. I think I might shorten my hair a bit. I am not sure yet." She moved to the fruit table and grabbed a bowl of fruit salad.

"Oh don't give him any ideas! I think they have done quite complicated spells, those two keep thinking bigger and bigger." He chuckles.

Merlin was thoughtful. "About that, I don't think it can work that I teach you dragon because when I'm human form I just talk to them like I talk to you but they understand me, but when I'm dragon form I just growl and have my thought in head and they know...I have no idea how it works, its probably I have a link to them but not that I speak their language. Yet I know what they think and feel because I feel it in my heart and its the same with other animals but I feel it stronger with dragons. Its probably an ability I inherited form my father."

"I think my holiday was the best ever, I got to hang with my friends a lot and we went to many great places and I got to show them my home! I never had any friends over but even when there was an accident I can say I had fun." After she pet Thunder and call him beautiful he beams. "He is a lovely snake but can be quite mischievous."

"Hey Pop!" He smiled wide at her. "The salad is great and I'm always hungry so it makes it taste even better, any drink you recommend?"

"Sounds great, I'll ask my mom if we can get another one." He loved the idea of a kitty.

Magnus laughed. That sounded like Paul and Gabriel.

Elizabeth chuckled a bit upon Magnus' words. "I swear I've been here quite often for the past days and I'm still not bored.", she replied and carefully hindered Muir from getting away. He seemed awake now.

"Is the bakery in Muggle London? ", Elizabeth asked Millie since she hasn't seen one in diagon alley. If that was the case, she wondered if she should visit it later. She always loved to have a taste of new cookies and cakes. When Gaia spoke up, she turned her attention to her. Watching the fireworks, she wondered what all the fuss regarding the dress code was about and then got herself a cup of fresh peppermint tea. Remembering the familiar hissing sounds, Elizabeth turned around. Muir was eyeing the girl curiously. She smiled at Sam ( ); she had seen her at school, but she didn't know that she could speak to snakes too. "Ooh, you can talk with them too!", she exclaimed and sounded somewhat excited, "and yes, I just got him when the term break started. I've called him-" "Muir", the little snake hissed cheeky. Elizabeth seemed a bit irritated first, but then snickered. "Well, he's quite amusing.", she stated.
