Drew smiled and returned Merlin's hug. "You're welcome. I'm gad you like it, Merls." he laughed lightly and said, "I'm not sure how well Fleet would like a thestral, but it would be fun to fly together again...without all the danger this time."

“I can’t take Flight, you just got ‘er. But thanks, you spend time with your new baby.” He giggled thinking of his fanged puff. He smirked, “I didn’t make it up, tis me ‘ouse motto.”

“It’s a lovely talisman Merls,” Niall said shyly.

Magnus was touched when he opened the book and bookmark. “Thank you,” he said, “I’ll enjoy looking over it. Me friend Sam got me a different one a year ago, from where she’s from. It was lovely to read and see all the places.”

Niall’s mouth dropped. “I amn’t had my own copy. Ours is old and beat up and belongs to everyone that lives there.” He touched the book softly with as much awe has he had with Merlin’s book gift. It took him a few moments to realise there was another book. One on photography. And the kid was just overwhelmed. It took him what seemed like ages to speak. “I-I… can’t… I amn’t… Thank ya so much.” He saw the kitten book mark and smiled as his eyes watered.

"You're welcome, Mags," Drew smiled. "I hope you do enjoy it. Even though I'm from the states it still sounded interesting to me."

Smiling at Niall, the older boy said, "You're very welcome, Niall. I wanted you to have something a bit special...to let you know that I listen to my friends. I might not know anything about photography or music or dance, but I'm hoping the book might help you with one of them at least. And I do know fun stories, so I wanted you to have some of those too."

"I know I will," he said smiling. "'Ow could I not? Seriously, thanks! What you get for yourself?"

Niall stammered a bit more and nodded. His voice was thick with emotion. "Thank ye."

Drew grinned and half shrugged before answering Magnus. "Well you know me and animals," he said. "I found a book about animal ghosts in Britain that sounded good. I might even talk Mum and Dad into going to see a few of them if any are nearby."

Drew hesitated a moment and then gave Niall a brief hug. "I always like meeting people who love to read, so I'm glad I have another friend who I can share books with now and get surprises for." He smiled.

He gave a Drew a hug, "really, thanks. Animals are great." Magnus was glad Drew had gotten himself a book. "Where there any other books you got?"

The hug surprised him and even though he wanted to pull away he didn't. He was grateful for the kindness he'd been receiving and didn't want to upset Drew. "Th-this is a surprise thats for sure," the boy said. He grinned though.

Drew had released Niall, understanding that the younger boy wasn't a hugger like Drew was. He'd definitely have to warn his Mum about that when Niall came to visit during the break. Otherwise the poor kid was liable to be smothered in hugs and given every treat imaginable to eat while being read or told stories. The dark haired boy gave a little grin at the thought of his mum fussing over Niall...and Magnus...and heck Merlin too for that matter!

"I didn't get any more for me this time," Drew said. "But I did get a couple more presents...a Quidditch book for Eros that I hope he doesn't have already and a book called Saucy Tricks for Tricky Sorts for Kyros. I thought of him and our talk about pranking when I saw it," he grinned. "Oh and I got Rosie a bookmark with twining roses on it."

Magnus snickered at the title for Kyros. "'E'll love that!" And nodded about the book for Eros. "And I think Eros will like the book. 'E seemed rather unused to getting things."

Niall was a bit grateful when Drew pulled back. Then he was mentioning the gifts he brought for the others. The bookmark for Rosie sounded very pretty. He wondered if Drew liked her that way.

Nodding, Drew said, "I got that impression from Eros too, but he deserves something for his birthday. And I never mind giving books." He smiled. "And just think...we still have others places to go today and more looking and shopping to do. I'm looking forward to seeing everything and possibly buying a few more things. Mum and Dad, especially Mum, have been after me to get out a bit more and enjoy myself. It might have taken all term, but I intend to do that today."

She had her eyes closed and was enjoying the soft breeze sat in the sun. When a cloud covered the sun she shivered. In the shadow the breeze felt quite chilling and it proved that it was still early spring. Rosie stood up slowly and dusted her clothes of making sure no grass stuck to her bottom. She made her way to the bookshop and walked along the stacks until she found the art section. Here she looked for the music and dance books that might be useful for Niall. While scanning the spines she noticed Niall looking at some music and dance books as well. She picked a basic book on muggle music which included some simple sheet music and lessons on how to read them. The music was meant for piano but the simple songs could also be played on the violin. Unfortunately the shop didn't have the more specific books she would need, but the one she found was a good start. Rosie went to the cashier and paid for the book. It alongside the boxes of Bertie's beans made quite the present and Rosie figured any more would be overkill. She had spotted some magical bookmarks which she liked especially those with floral patterns, but she didn't buy one of them for herself.

Rosie made her way out of the bookshop and hummed to herself as she strolled to the Tea Shop. There she would wait for everyone. Rosie picked a seat by the window and relaxed. She had chosen the Mango Fruit tea and slowly sipped from her cup the drink warming her tummy. She nibbled on a cucumber sandwich first and then took one of the small quiches. The savory snacks were quite wonderful and due to the earlier snacking on fruits and candy she felt quite full already. Rosie stared out the window and continued sipping occasionally on her tea lost in her own world.

Magnus nodded, agreeing that Eros deserved something nice too. "I'm glad you decided to do so too. Gotta 'ave fun. And make sure you treat yourself too." Magnus had seen Rosie head off in the direction of the tea parlour, but Niall had missed it.

"Shall we go to Dogweed and Deathcap? Merlin, you mentioned wanting a plant for your dorm room, and I'm always 'appy to pick up a plant or 10. " He smirked.

Merlin was a bit spaced out looking at other students go by when he heard Magnus ask him about a shop so he looks at him and nods. "I would like one to put on my side, I love my dorm room but it lacks any greenery, all the place to be honest, the green colors around don't make up for the lack of vegetation. I would like a bit more of light there but my roommates don't appreciate it, in fact I don't think my roommates like me much, they rarely talk to me." He shrugs. "Maybe they just don't want me to scold them or something, but I'm a quite blind prefect." He looks at his other friends and smiles. "Lets hurry, I'm starting to get hungry..I know I know I eat too much. But I want to try Madame Puddifoot teas and food, and most specially desserts. I have never eaten there to be honest and I want to try Chocolate Ice Cream Bonbons, if they have any today."

"We could go eat first and then go back shopping?"

Drew smiled at the others and said, "Food is probably safer for me. I don't mind going with you guys but when it comes to plants I'm a walking disaster."

Turning to Merlin, he said, "I don't see why your roommates wouldn't like you, Merls. You're not at all what I expected a Slytherin prefect to be like and I'm glad." He grinned.

"Well if you want, we can go eat first. If Drew wants to stay there with Rosie while we go check the plants then its fine too. Maybe you want to come along and see another store while we are there or you can woo Rosie." He hold on his laughter. "Niall was hungry too so I think we go eat and then shop more. In case I end up with no money for the break...I'll ask mom to give me more. Sorry mom I tried to save but the goodies were impossible to leave behind." After the prefect comment he wondered how should a prefect be in his head. "How did you imagined a Slytherin prefect would be? Am I too irresponsible? I try to do my job best I can." He looked at his face seriously. "It is not my fault if others don't do their assignments in time." He smirks.

(gotta go grocery shop, back in a few hours. )

"Okay, lets go eat then shop. But I don't know if you'd wanna miss going with us Drew, cos I'd like to go to several other stores as well." Magnus said. And they headed off for food. The wound up sitting at the table with Rosie. Magnus frowned at the sandwiches, there was nothing with high protein. "Good thing I 'ave food with me in me bag. I need more meat than this." He felt bad but he had to have a lot more protein. Rummaging in his bag he pulled out a Cornish Pastie and pork pie and started eating. When he'd had a couple of bites, he served English breakfast tea to those at the table who wanted it. After finishing, he picked a few Currant Scones and put some jam on them. Finishing up with a Lemon Tart, Chocolate Ice Cream Bonbon and the Mango Fruit Tea. He leaned back. "I'm quite ready to go shopping now."

Niall was eager to eat though he didn't like Merlin's comment on Drew "wooing" Rosie. When they sat down, he made sure to sit beside Rosie. Niall picked almost one of everything off the cart and was happily munching though as everything was so good and soon he was in a slightly sleepy stupor. "Shopping sounds good. Think we can go to the music shop? I'd like to just have a peak."

"I don't mind going along, really," Drew told Merlin. "It's not that I don't like plants...I mean I like flowers and veggies and herbs...they just don't like me." He shrugged and then smiled. "But I'm totally up for more shopping. I vote for eating and consulting the map...or you guys since you know your way around here...and planning one or two places to go since we only have a short break before we head to the next stop."

When Merlin asked about what Drew's idea of a prefect was, the boy looked thoughtful. "Oh I think you do a great job, Merls. You're not irresponsible in your duties." He stuck out his tongue at his friend's comment about the assignments. "I get cut some slack for my first term. Right? But seriously, from the stories I'd heard I pictured Slytherin prefects as more aloof...not as friendly and approachable. Like they kind of lorded their power over the others. I'm really glad that you're not like that. I always wanted to be a snake, but I was also kind of scared that I wouldn't be accepted if I was sorted into Slytherin. It's nice that our house isn't as mean and tough overall as they are portrayed."

Merlin smiles at Drew's reaction to his assignments and nods as he describes a powerful prefect. "Truth is we don't have that much power at all." He laughs. "I know what you mean about the mean Slythers, I mean there are a few but in general we are just as normal as any other house, at least i think so. People just have a bad view of us snakes, look at me, people probably look at me and say your definitely not Slytheirn." He stick out his tongue as he made fun of his boring appearance. "My mom was Slytherin so she was very happy when I got sorted in." They walk inside and Merlin was pleased to see many veggie choices, he took one of everything he could eat and double of every dessert cept cheesecake and bonbons from which he took three of each. "Broccoli Cheddar!" He was very pleased with the food and picked mint tea. When he got to the table he felt like a glutton. "I don't know why I eat so much, it's like my stomach has no end. I even feel like you guys haven't eaten anything compared to me." He blushed. "Luckily I never gain weight and eat lots of sweets too." He nods to Magnus eating his meat since he needed it. "Do you think it has anything to do with my dragon body? I mean it demands lots of energy and when I'm that I have a huge belly." He laughed a bit but started eating. "Oh this is so good, love this soup..I may need seconds." Merlin ate everything and repeated soup, a few sandwiches, and cream scones. "I think I'm ready to go shop!"

"Pretty sure there are people who think I'm in the wrong house too," Drew said with a smile as he entered the tea shop with his friends. He spotted Rosie and smiled and waved. then he had to grin as Niall slid into the seat beside her. It was pretty clear the kid liked the musician and for more than their shared interest, which was fine with Drew. He personally would like to know a bit more about Lena, but she'd gone been a quiet part of the main group since they had left the bookshop the first time.

Looking over the selection, Drew chose two of the spinach ad feta mini quiches as they were a favorite of his. He then added a scone with strawberry jam, a lemon tart, a chocolate ice cream bonbon, and a sausage roll. Loving fruity things, Drew opted for the mango fruit tea and then settled into the chair to enjoy his plate of food.

The dark haired boy noted Merlin's food and smiled. As his friend made the comment about his dragon-sized stomach, Drew nodded. "I was just thinking that, Merls. You're a growing dragon and need a lot to eat," he smiled. "I love food too, especially sweets and breads, and I don't even have any excuse," he laughed. "Mum says I'm at that age where I'm a bottomless pit who doesn't gain any weight. I'm good with that since she tends to fix a lot of food to make sure we have some on hand." Drew grinned.
