I had a very funny encounter with an (old school) Russian doctor a number of years ago. I said I am not depressed but would like something to just sort of take the edge off (I work with first and second graders and I come home exhausted and worn out every day) and he said he had the perfect thing: cognac! I wasn't convinced they would tolerate my showing up at school at 8:00 am smelling like hard alcohol.... but the story is 100% gold. (same doctor told me I am past the age where I should give up coffee and that I should have chocolate AT LEAST once a week. ) :D
