Stollen Plum Cake Fruit Kuchen

I like writing about blowing things up, and I am fascinated by role-playing an alchemist/polymath, but I could never really blow up anything. I have actually made gunpowder, guncotton and nitroglycerine as academic exercises. The nitroglycerine was mere drops, enough to make hundreds of doses of angina medicine. ( Yes, the wee creatures of Glen Meadow have angina...we live near humans don't you know? )

The first high explosive I actually made was as a child in apprentice school. We stole some iodine crystals from the potion maker, and mixed it with ammonia water ( floor cleaner ). When it dried, we could set it off with a feather. Once a fly landed on some and it went off. We're talking about a gram or two at a time. BANG! Big purple cloud of smoke that I'm sure was toxic as hell. It's called Trinitroiodide and is more powerful then nitroglycerine and is too unstable to make in large quantities. Boy, those were the heady days of my misspent youth.

From there it was to black powder, fireworks, sodium metal, white phosphorous. Stuff I shudder to think about having ever played with, especially the white phosphorous. We nearly burned down the forrest with that.....

: This weekend up in Lodi, they are having the Annual Grape and Wine Festival. Lodi has a distinct Germanic heritage and many of the wines that were traditionally made there were from the old country. Now, not so much anymore. But the festival is great, they have lots of wine tasting, a traditional biergarten, lots of music and food. My author grew up in Lodi and has promised to take Weldon and me there one of these years.

My Dear One, when you took the Healer's Oath, Glen Meadow lost a Bard! It's beautiful, my Sister. Forgot there were two parts to that task, awakening/fixing him and restoring his memory don't really remember much about my attempt at the first one except chanting "Wa-ken! Wa-ken" the rhythem was meant to simulate a heart beating. I thought I was a freak LOL Jianni's speech before the battle had me in tears and I am not a cryer (unless abandoned when my Mistress went to Disneyworld without her beloved cat). When I was in HS the Poor Man's James Bond was VERY popular, it taught you how to make explosives and poisons very cheaply. I didn't actually do it but I knew how it was done. Ohhh...phospherous!

both storms have since left behind a mess for folks to clean up. Many people are still awaiting assistance either from FEMA or other charities along with insurance claims. That song was fun to write and it did take me (Teislyn) awhile to write and compose. Also, you might remember the separate missions, I think during WS2 (?), Teislyn had to write out four poems telling the four ladies about the gentleman's (I don't remember who) non existent affections toward them. The bards were put forth with the challenge to make them a certain type of poem.
