LOL . i've been wanting to try out some rum, this summer. i've never really liked it, but thought maybe it would be a nice change. (never got the chance though) i'm more a vodka girl. :D but since i was drinking WAY to many white russians, i've gone to cheap wine in a box. heh. it's something at least.

and every once in a while, i'm able to get a decent bottle of red wine. so i'm ok.

ok. i'm gone for the night. Have a GOOD ONE! :D

Yay! Last night I got to go see the MLP Movie and tonight I'm going to go see Chicago ( the band ) at the Big Fresno Fair with my author and his mate! ( little weasel girls and little weasel-husbands get in free ). I've had a broken tummy all week, but I feel well enough that I'm going to try to share a Cinnamon Roll and a craft beer. I'm staying away from kettle corn, corndogs and deep fat fried Oreos, although I would really want one.

Next week, Brian Wilson is playing his entire Pet Sounds album live on stage at the Big Fresno Fair. Tickets are 230.00 though.....

Dear One, am I allowed to ask questions or must I ply you with gingersnaps and bear claws with almond paste filling and of course something 100 proof to wash it down with. I'd offer Hawaiian coffee but let's be honest here, booze goes with everything.

I'm embarrassed to say I was pretty ignorant of Badger as a totem, but what you said was 100% accurate of course. Cousin, you should be writing an advice column "Ask Frieda" I know...where would you find time between being Queen, Master Healer and Mate? If anyone could do it, though its you. War to the knife is an ugly thing, but rebellion and starting a civil war kind of calls for heads to roll, not to mention an assassination attempt. Rat Bastids! I think that's the case of any Monarch, Dear One...well...let's amend that to any good Monarch. I keep thinking of Ramses ii, by our standards he was a reckless egomaniac, but you have to see it from an ancient Egyptian persective, if Pharoah was at the head of his armies fighting alongside his men, then Egypt was strong because Pharoah WAS Egypt

LOL Don't let the cushion, preferrence for Perrier and fresh seafood fool you, I am a good stroking away from being feral

You go girl! Have to refresh my memory on Manifesting Weapon's stats and Roulard's capabilities, if I remember right he does lots of wind, Dark and I think Earth, you can do it! 7 more wins and you rule the night!

Are you salaried? I loving hate salary, when I got my promotion they offered me salary, but knew I'd be doing a lot of OT and expect to be paid for the time I work and not lame flex time that has to be used within 2 weeksends rant about the evils of flex timeRemember that cost of living is a good deal less back east, so you may not be making as much unless you worked for a Hospital and then you'll be making fat cheddar

: My Dearest Cousin! You may ask questions any time, for any reason and without feeling obligated to bring cookies, bear claws or whiskey (though, gingersnaps and scotch are pretty awesome! Don't get me wrong, it's like a treat, not a regular meal ).

Hawaiian coffee just happens to be my most favorite variety, we so rarely get it here. I would be willing to do most anything reasonable for a cup of freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee.

You will have to read my book to find out how the leader of the Black Arrow was killed. As I said, I am not proud, I wish he didn't have to die....it's still too soon....this is why I have written a book, to help me deal with the emotional baggage that I have laden with as a result of his conflict with the Woodland Council and me.

I will say that I lead my army from the air. Intrigued? I may have to draw you a picture.

Oh, Cousin... I can sense your emotions straight through the internet and there is very very little that is domesticated about you. You would make a very welcome addition to our community. We would have to hire you a staff. Do you like freshwater fish like trout? Trout is my favorite.

Chicago was SO AWESOME!! What a great sound they have. I got to eat part of a cinnamon roll too! And I had a few sips of my Author's beer. If there is anything wrong with the fair it can be summed up in one word....$10 Beer.

I really like ginger beer too. I prefer it over ginger ale, ginger ale is too sweet and not spicy enough. Goya makes a really spicy ginger beer but I found out it's because they put pepper in it. Everything else I've looked for doesn't come close.

Aw freshly baked ginger bread cookies are the best!

He does a lot of dark, fire, wind and magma. I remember borrowing natasha and ME for him last year. I own both now, but this time I have the stats to back them up. I may decide to switch to ME and cronus or ME and trident. We'll see how it goes though.

I am salaried so basically cheap labor when I stay late all the time =x Eh, it depends on where I decide to move back East. Big cities tend to be expensive. Heck, where I used to live is comparable to prices out here.

: I know what you mean! My friend Dannygyrrl goes on and on about how good Pabst, Olympia and Lucky beers are. Glitter calls them Hipster beers. Welly calls them....well, I will not repeat in print what Weldon says, he would be embarrassed. But he is correct. The closest thing to Poppy's Famous Wheezle Brew (our local hipster beer) that humans makes is Guiness Extra Stout and it's really quite good!

There is a lot to be said for a decent bottle of whiskey. Decent whiskey can be had for a very reasonable cost. American Brandy, like EJ VSOP is very smooth and can be had as CVS for less then $20.00 for a 1.75L bottle. I mean....very smooth. Think of of as concentrated cheep box wine for less! And Smoother!

: I know....bearclaws..... right? I had a county fair cinnamon roll tonight at the county fair though. Nummy Nummy!

@ Good morning everyone! I'm going to a Vintage Bazaar today in Southern Maine. It's on a huge farm and there will be a flea market with live music and food trucks so it should be fun :) Oh and also on the way down we are stopping at Maine's first Krispy Kreme that just opened up last week. The only Krispy Kreme donut I've ever had was at South Station when I went to Boston with a friend. Does anyone have a particular flavor of Krispy Kreme they prefer? I want to know what the best one to try is!

ewwww. i dislike krispy kreame. lol i know. i might be the Only Person that does NOT like them

YUM! Fresh Baked Gingerbread COOKIES! YUM YUM YUM . i've had ginger beer once. (it might have been goya?) it's hard to find in my grocery stores. (and i've never seen it at any of the liquor stores)

LOL i'm not much of a whiskey drinker i always wished i was. that and scotch, i've always thought that it would be excellent to be "one of those types of women" heh. but i just can't get it past my nose.

and i've never had Hawaiian coffee (even though i Have had hawaiian rainbow!) LOL but i do like strong coffee with TONS of cream. YUM.

at least i have a cream cheese almond filled thing to eat this morning with my coffee. :)

grins . lol you and me both, baby! watch out for the hips! :D

I haven't had enough to form an opinion yet! LOL But I may be in the same boat. I like a dense, cake-like donut usually dipped in a glaze and rolled in sprinkles, butternut, or coconut.

heh. i guess i was really spoiled. (and since it's been over 30 years, i'm probably not remembering very well) , but i used to live in an apartment building that was just down the street from this little bakery. my husband used to get up early in the morning, and go and get a dozen chocolate donuts for us on the weekend. omg. nothing taste as good as still warm from the oven, melty chewy goodness of fresh donuts.

lol

i still dream of them. :D

it's a dying art. unless you go to one of the "big nicer cities" (like boston, or San Fran, or maybe dallas) and find an "individual" baker. which is really hard to do.

I've had Reeds and that one I found to be okay, nicer than ginger ale. The best I have managed to find is called Cock N' Bull. It has a nice little kick to it and mixes well if you like Moscow mules.

Goya is my favorite ginger beer! The spice on the first sip always comes out my nose LOL. Can't seem to find it out west though.

I am not a fan of whiskey but I do love good bourbon. I prefer bourbon because it is sweeter. I've tried really good scotch before, but I still prefer bourbon. Bourbon and scotch are almost the same thing, except bourbon is made using more corn syrup and is only made in the US. Scotch also has a more earthy taste to it. You might find you have a taste for bourbon instead , have you ever tried a good bourbon?

I definitely agree with you on spending a little more to get a decent bottle of things like whiskey, gin, brandy and bourbon. I finally found the two bourbons I have been looking for for over a year now in a liquor store 30 minutes from my apartment. There was only two bottles left of one and one bottle left of the other so I bought both. It cost me around $175 including tax x.x I still also have some left in my two mid shelf bourbons so I could at least have my own private tasting. My boyfriend also wanted to buy a bottle of his favorite bourbon to see how they all compare. We may have a drinking problem LOL =x

Sounds like fun! I never liked Krispy Kreme, I've always been a fan of dunkin donuts. Dunkin also has a pumpkin doughnut this time of year ! HOWEVER, if you get a krispy kreme doughnut when it's still hot and fresh it can be good. I think I have only ever had the glazed.

that's not a drinking problem. you have no problem drinking it. you have a problem in deciding WHICH ONE TO DRINK :D :D :D :D :D

and no. :( sadly, thats another one i can't get past my nose. (but i have to add good vodka in there to your "pay extra for...")

heh. liquor is one of those things, that "you get what you pay for"

(like decent fitting shoes) lol even though. if you change enough, you can get away with knockoffs, for "fashion"

and yah. that's why i was looking for ginger beer. i was wanting to make moscow mules

LOL you and pumpkin :D

: I don't think you have a drinking problem, unless it's causing problems, like being late to work, missing work, harming relationships, causing health problems. Moderation in all things is always a good strategy. Being appreciative of the craft of making fine spirits is not a bad thing. Of all the whiskeys, I prefer Kentucky Bourbons too, then Irish Whiskeys, then Scotch Whiskeys. I've not tasted any Canadian whiskeys, so I haven't formed an opinion yet. I've heard that Costco often has some very fine bourbons at very reasonable prices. I've not tried Goya, and now I'm going to ask my Author to try to find it. Maybe BevMo has it, or can get it. My uncle Poppy makes a ginger-beer that is non-alcoholic and it is peppery! He uses whole grated ginger root and honey in the mix. I don't know if he actually uses pepper though. It is so good!

: :The free regular KrispyKream donut they give you right off the factory line is the best kind to get. ( if your store is indeed one of those stores that has the little factory in it.) Fresno used to have one of those and when the Hot Donut sign lit up outside, people would line up out into the parking lot just to get a donut. The other donuts are OK, but the original flavor is the best. I do not prefer KrispyKream though, I prefer local-made donuts.

Fresno has many many donut shops that are mom and pop types. We don't have a Dunkin' Donut, (yet) or a Winchell's (went out of business). But Bingo Donuts, Judy's Donuts and several others have been making fresh hot donuts for ages and are extremely popular. My absolute favorite is the Glazed Buttermilk Old Fashioned with it's craggy edges. Judy's makes the best. You know, just in case you're ever in Fresno. Like....what would be the likelihood of that ever happening, am I right?
