it cost us another 100 dollars to put the seat on, because when the hub went to do it, HE BROKE THE TOILET!

, : LOL!! There is just something funny about the word toilet seat. Six of then seems hilarious. I have friends who are compulsive bargain hunters who have pantries literally stuffed full of foods that they will never eat ( and consequently are prey to weevils and such ) merely because they were on sale. There is a store in Stockton Ca where they hang out and sweep up these great deals. One day they came home with 15 gallons of vanilla ice cream, the kind in 2.5 gallon buckets, simply because it was on sale for $2.00 per bucket. My mother called that false economy.

Weldon did make a great brunch today, and we watched MLP FiM...very cute episode. We had buttermilk pancakes with a thick sauce made from fresh mangos and peaches...so good. There were scrambled eggies with fire-roasted red and orange sweet-peppers, onions, basil, oregano and garlic. There was fresh espresso-roast coffee and bacon too. He wanted to eat a good brunch because later on this afternoon, he's going to heat up the kitchen to make guava jelly from the guavas he picked from off our tree. He likes to preserve and can, but his jams and jellies are outrageously good and his guava jelly is probably the best jelly he makes.

oh man, , i miss my grandmother. she used to make the best jellies and jams.

lol and i swear, don't be surprised if we all show up on your doorstep one sunday morning, for one of weldon's brunches! :D

I haven't seen the new episode yet, I am bad and forget for a few weeks then watch a giant chunk... Last thing I watched was ajs parents. I am a real pegasister though, went to bronycon a few years back, even! :D. Fluttershy is best pony btw.

I can totally believe that. My hubby has a similar issue, but instead of breaking things he goes nuts and tries to tweak everything and it can be a mess!

LOL I personally think its something in the water once you cross the Mississippi, but even people who are from out of state and I don't just mean East Coast, but Midwest and Midwesterners are just about the nicest, friendliest people I know except for people on this forum

The place I was before was a lot more reasonable about socializing outside of work, as you said, how else are you going to get to know a co-worker, sometimes you have to be cautious though, say nothing you wouldn't want repeated lol Rule 1 of living in a small town

: I've not had champagne or V8 juice. I had to Google it. I thought a V8 was a type of human automobile and was a bit chagrinned to discover it was a blend of vegetable juices. It sounds very delicious, especially mixed with spirits like tequila or vodka. We have a substantial place in our culture for enology and viticulture and there is quite a demand for quality wine, spirits and ale. Master Brewer Poppy Wheezle makes all manner of those kinds of beverages, including some fizzy wine, but not champagne. I would like to try that. Champagne and orange juice is called a mimosa, correct? That sounds tasty.

It is sprinkled with confectioner's sugar, sliced and served.

Mimosas are the togo brunch drink around here and probably at other places too. It is tasty as long as it's mixed correctly. Sometimes there is more champagne then orange juice! V8 juice is yummy, but the store bought ones can contain a lot of sodium, so maybe it'd be easier to make it at home. There are a lot of recipes online to try it. Does Master Brewer Poppy have a brewery where he makes them?

: Poppy's facility is huge and it's all underground. He can crush fruit for wine which is produced in large wooden vats before it is casked and aged in the winery. Ales and beers are brewed in huge copper vats in the brewery. Spirits are distilled in beautiful copper side-arm pot stills in the distillery. He can distill whiskeys, vodka, various fruit brandies and medicinal alcohols. I like his Famous Wheezle Brew best, it is a nutty brown ale with a creamy thick head.

I fell behind watching MLP so I have been watching all night. cries I just watched the episode where the Apples learn the story of their mom and dad. SUCH a sweet love story in a cartoon. sniffles Esp since apparently it is inferred that they are gone forever.

OMG I would love my cat sanctuary. It would be great. They would be free range in ways to be able to wander the property. I would have people to volunteer so they wouldn't get feral by loving them. AND I would allow adoptions out. I am no sure how that process would work CUS I get way to attached to things. LOL Probably would have to put someone else in charge of that so I wouldn't see any leaving.

Yea I hear you about the living alone for so long and then having someone live with you. I am hesitant over that for sure. BUT I am trying to think of the money aspect. Which is something I should have been thinking about sooner. I have a two bedroom apartment so there would be some private space. And the friend I am thinking about and I have some things in common at least with tv watching etc. I am afraid of not having the space and freedom I do now tho. It would take lots of adjustment I am sure. My friend likes cats so that is at least a plus and I already asked if they minded some of the chores of helping take care of them and they said not a problem. SO that would be helpful in itself. I would still buy the stuff for the cats since they are mine, but they would help with litter boxes etc. ITs not like they are moving here tomorrow either. We haven't even discussed a time frame.

AND the floor project does seem like something my landlord keeps using WE alot with. I think he has been trying to angle that I LET him in when I am not home and he would work on it. Um...nope. I enjoy my privacy (which I fear a housemate would invade). I just don't want someone in my place snooping around when I am not here. I have that fear that he could come in whenever he wants anyway cus he has a key. I honestly think about changing the front door lock at times over that fear. He should NEVER know I did it cus if he ever said anything it would be like admitting he tried to get in when I wasn't home. I know a LONG time ago he had to get into the neighbors place due to an incident when they weren't around but they hadn't been around for a few days at the time. I am never gone more then 8 hours. So he wouldn't have a need to get into mine realistically. I just really wish he would let me work at my own pace. His way really has everything in an upheaval. :( And has caused my depression to sink me even lower. I have a hard time focusing on anything for long and no motivation to do anything either. I haven't crocheted in forever or even read a book. :( I was bad before but I am worse.

or some such excuse. i know that when we moved into this house, the hub had changed the locks, before i even moved in. we never did give the leasing office our key. but then. i'm here all the time, so if someone shows up...well.... i'm HEREEeeeee. :D
