Hello there ! Ooh I use Roku for streaming and those weird flat antennas for basic free cable. Works well since I don't really watch all of those channels on paid cable anyway. ^_^ Hard getting back to the grind after the nice days off :P Also that's a really cute idea. I didn't think of putting those inside. Looks adorable! I have yet to bring in the decorations from outside or put away the ones inside. I really should do it soon though before we get any snow haha. And yes hoping for a mellower new year :P

1. Do you prefer to be called by your username or another name? Have you had any other usernames prior to this one? I'd like to be referred as Yara! I don't remember if I had any usernames before this one...

2. What are your interests on Subeta? Human Avatars, pets, maybe battling, but I'm still getting used to the site again, it's been three years since I've been here so I only remember the quests and all. But I'm sure I want to invest on my pets (and paint Hitagi Nostalgic) and on my HA! But when making my wishlist I just realized that some of my wishes are cash items, haha...

3. How often do you play on site and will you be active within the cult? Just got back here about a month ago, but I've been on about everyday. Some weeks are harder on me so I'd probably just be on for a day or two per week. I plan to be as active as possible in the cult.

4. Why are you interested in joining Kindred Spirits? Are you currently in any other cults? I'm interested on meeting new people, making friends and learning from you all. Also curious about these KS games and events, tho I'm not sure I'd be able to keep up. I miss a cult I was before, that has a lot of games/events but can't remember the name. Everyone was so nice there! So I guess I'm looking for a place with the same vibe, and KS looks like it.

5. Tell us a bit about you! I'm Yara, a 22 years old girl from Brazil, so my mother tongue is Portuguese. So pardon me if my English isn't the best, and I welcome any corrections to my worst mistakes! I'm currently majoring in Japanese Letters at university and planning to spend a month in Japan this July, if possible. For those interested, I'm Leo sun, Saggitarius moon and Virgo rising! I enjoy making friends but I usually can't keep up with many people talking with me at the same time. Also, I'm an introverted, so I like to have my time alone to charge my batteries. For hobbies, I like many kinds of things. From movies to music, series and anime. My most recent favorite series is Hannibal. I play some stuff sometimes, like here on subeta, that other pet site, recently been playing bRO (Ragnarok Online) and GoT Ascent! Also enjoy card and board games (when I know how to play them). Your English is really good. A quick note that though we do always have a few games running in the forums, run by our awesome , we do not have tons of events going on and haven't for some time. Gry does try to have a trivia game and an ha challenge monthly and we have occasional other things going for subeta events (e.g. - we had a secret santa and a gifting thread for luminaire).

Go ahead and join here and I'll let you in as soon as I can. Then you can take a look around and read the sticky posts in the forum.

Hello sweeties. So it is still snowing. Make it stop. Too much snow for here. Got a new mini occilating fan for the room I play on my computer in. It is nice. The airflow in the house traps all the smells in here. Have it going now to clear the air a bit. Musty and dusty.

Welcome! Love the reindeer lit up with the tree. So pretty! I used the 5g's by Latrice the other day. This girl was really not wanting to compromise at all on a House Hunter show. I was getting tired of her and told the TV "Good God get a grip girl!" lol I love Latrice.

You've been busy! I wish I was that productive over my break xD Thanks c: We saw it at the grocery one day and had to get it. Next time we went to the store they were all gone. So glad we got them. It's a large deer, and a little one that is kind of hard to see the head of it in the picture.

Work wasn't too bad today :) Lots of absences, but otherwise quiet and nice. All the teachers pretty much just gave out the syllabus, so no real work has started yet x)

While we're not getting nearly as much as some people, the bitter cold is the worst part. Can't stand the cold and I just want to hibernate - which I can totally do since I'm off until next week. 😹

Kitchen was clean for about a day and a half until they made turkey and spinach crepes, and I swear they used every big dish in the house. 😞 I was just looking around thinking, clean-as-you-go.. ya know?!! ugh

Hope you got more rest yesterday. Sounds like you did quite a bit! I have to agree w/ , I wish I had been that productive. I'm still not ready to take my stuff down, yet. It's just so bland and boring w/out the pretty lights and I'm LOVING the fact that no cat got into the tree this year!! So it stayed beautiful, w/ it's black and gold ornaments. :D

There wasn't a local place you could go and switch out the boxes? Seems like they should've paid for expedited shipping, considering you're paying them for their services.
Make sure you call and get a discount for the days you didn't have the box - no service. While it's technically still hooked up, it's unusable w/out the box, right? Don't let them charge you for those days.

I have no resolutions and haven't made any in a long time. I have goals, which I've had since last summer, lol, but no NY resolutions. I learned a long time ago that they never last. :P

Hii bb! <3 You hibernating? You going to get any of this snow or is it still relatively 'warm' over your way?

Ohh I'm a stickler for smells. I use those wax melts a lot if I can't find decent deals on good smelling candles, which can get pricey. Never had a Yankee candle. They're just too much and I often leave candles to burn for long periods of time; Especially this time of the year.

Nothing on my agenda today, other than watching people act like idiots on the road. They originally said it was supposed to be blowing snow and that the roads would respond well to the pre-treatment they do, but it's totally sticking. Not s/thing I would want to get out there and have to deal w/ so I'll be hanging out in the warm house, thinking about whether or not I want to do anything. :P Hope everyone has a good day! Yay for a hibernating vacation!! ^_^ Everyone should have deer...they are some of my favorite decorations xP It shouldn't be as stressful c: From what I can see of the roll, we don't have nearly as many of the problem students. And the ones we do have are not all lumped together in the same period like last time, lol. Whoever did that last semester put them all in last hour of the day. Not this time! dances I try to clean as I go. Depends on what I am doing, though. Sometimes I'll ask someone else to clean as I go if I am making more than one thing at a time, lol. You should slap them with a dirty spatula.

It's a good thing we are going shopping today because I ran out of my coffee creamer xD There was just enough for this morning, lol.

I audibly lol'ed at the "slap them with a dirty spatula". I thought of the one my brother broke (it just snapped) and pictured it in my mind and started laughing.
They always cook together, which is nice except for the really small kitchen and being unable to get or do what I need s/times, so it totally makes sense to have one person doing the food and the other washing. 😞 Yeah, I've never had either so again, that's what I would do.

Ohh no!! Can't do coffee w/out creamer!!! (not me... well, when I was camping I can hang) :P

Having my coffee. Was up a little during the night so ended up not wanting to get out of bed this morning and just let myself doze.
It's snowing out. We are only supposed to get maybe an inch and a half, it's just a dusting atm, but it's gray and dreary and doesn't make me really want to do anything.

I was feeling pretty productive. My mom asked if I wanted to take a break after I'd done the pantry and outside freezer and I was like 'no - I don't get in these moods often so I need to take advantage of it'! lol
Cleaned out my dresser yesterday. Threw out a bunch of socks and one night shirt with holes.

I try to clean dishes as I go and if I can't I pile what I can in or by the sink so when we're done with the meal I do it all then. I out grew leaving all that in the kitchen uncleaned once I was out of my mid 20s I think.

I so don't want to take the inside decorations down. The house will be so dreary until we put out the spring stuff before Easter. I am glad the outside stuff is down though. Sad about the house being all dark again (especially since we were the only house with lights at New Years) but glad because it was so warm when we took them down and we weren't trying to get stuff out of the frozen ground.

so anyway, in my life's saga, we finally got the receiver. got it hooked up and then spent most of the afternoon dealing with the problems that go with reconfiguring the remote etc. And then the guide didn't want to display anything so another call back to company.
This morning all seems well and I pray it stays that way.

Anybody got snow yet? We are suppose to get a little tonight.

I know what you mean about the cleaning moods! I get in those and I'm all out and completely wrecked the next day.
I actually used to be a little more into cleaning the dishes - when I had a dishwasher. But having 2 kids and them not cleaning after themselves... no matter how much I snapped at them... I pretty much gave up. Especially now w/out a dishwasher again. Hell, I only had one for 3yrs when I lived at my previous place.

There was so much I didn't learn to do until I was on my own and had to experiment. When we lived w/ our mom (after the divorce and even before then), we couldn't touch the dishes - even rinse them off - b/c we wouldn't do it 'right'. Same w/ laundry. We couldn't touch the machines b/c we 'didn't know how' and she never wanted to show us.
Don't use the wash rag for anything other than "insert=whatever"; Same w/ the hand towels. Don't use napkins for drying or wiping up stuff or use towels for anything napkins should be used for.
We always had very little, so she took what little she had to the extreme and yet never knew how to make the most of it. From what few stories of her own childhood I've heard, they were the type to kill and eat their own livestock so I don't know what happened. (her mom died of cancer at 15 so thing may have dramatically changed)

Anywho - my life is very different. Been a single mom for 12yrs now and besides having my brothers and their g/f's stay w/ me, it's been pretty much up to me to decide when, how, where and what things get done. My long hours at work mentally wear me out and by the time I come home, I just want to lay down and watch s/thing to distract my mind from the crap. Especially if it was a challenging day. Dishes can wait. Yelling at kid(s) doesn't work anymore (they yell back) and overall, nothing is more important than quality of life which to me, means getting adequate rest no matter what.

Thanks about my HA. I actually liked the purple and pinkish/purple one I had before b/c rarely - if ever - do I get to mix such colors. I thought I did an exception job. :P

Yep, snow here, as I said in my post. A whole whopping $8, considering the time and effort spent to wait for a new device and get it configured. Wow... sounds like Comcast.

Afternoon KSrs :D I won't have time to hang around this afternoon, but thought I would pop in for a few. I've had a pretty busy day; met my bestie for lunch and then had to run to like four stores to get things for mom and the cat (he's important too :P aka, he was running out of food), especially since we're supposed to get snow this weekend, we needed some things after getting back from being gone for two weeks. And let me tell you, they're calling for anywhere between 4 - 10 inches here... people here freak out over .5 inches of snow, so this oughta be an interesting one... but thankfully it's coming in Friday night and into Saturday, so this house will be home and not touching the roads (all the more time to spend looking at the pretty white stuffs). You guys should just google 'raleigh snowpocalypse' and see what pictures pop up. They're from a few years ago on a street not far from here, and they went viral back when it happened. It's absolutely hilarious to look back at.

- I'm glad you guys got your receiver, no TV is honestly super annoying, especially when you're used to it.

& - We still have the tree and lights up and everything, and I highly doubt they'll be coming down anytime soon. I might take the outside lights down tomorrow just to get them in before the snow/ice, but that's a big 'might'. I'm sure our tree will hang around until about February..

Yes! I have succeeded for the day! Yeah, it's difficult without help =/ Sometimes I don't get any and I just want to scream. If the kitchen was larger it wouldn't be a problem. But small counters make it a problem. high fives for the creamer Even camping I bring the powdered creamer or cocoa xD I can't stand coffee by itself.

Whenever I get in cleaning moods I try not to stop either. Stopping is the death of cleaning, lol. We do the dishes every night after dinner. I can't bring myself to do much more than that yet xP
