Oh man, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the new Pottermore. It feels messy and confusing. The other one felt more fun and engaging. I was Ravenclaw both times at least BUT... I did not like my patronus. I got some kind of dog, St. Bernard I think? Not sure. Lol... pretty sure mine would be a duck. XD

Welcome to the sharky thread ! <3 It's not weird at all to come join the fun. =) We started with that snowman event last year but it's not an exclusive thing to joining. usually pops around once in a while too but she's busy (rofl I put "pissy" at first) a lot. XD

Oh geez, my Patronus was the dog too. 99% sure it was the St. Bernard and I was just sitting there staring at the screen like "really..." Just no, lol.

Edit: Nothing wrong with St. Bernards, but the image they used was like this chubby derpy dog lol.

I just randomly hit a ton of lag myself. I was trying to finish up the questing for the day and it took forever... I still think I joined the wrong team last year but I always do. I blame Neo for cursing me with picking the losing team every time :P

My patronus was a cheetah. I haven't taken the quiz to find out my patronus on the new account I made yet, but maybe I'll get something different.

I enjoyed the old site. It was fun going to Diagon Alley and doing potions (even if it was annoyingly difficult sometimes). The first few years of Pottermore's existence, it seemed like it took forever for new chapters to be released. All I've done on the new site is get sorted into Hogwarts and Ilvermorny, get my wand and find out my Patronus. I'm a Potter nerd as well. I have four selves packed full with things I've collected over the years (collectibles, games, additional books), one shelf has a Lego Hogwarts set that I put together after finding it at a thrift store. I enjoyed Fantastic Beasts mainly because it expands what we know about the wizarding world, but I'm not too sure about the 4 other movies they have planned for the series.

I loved the old Pottermore because it was a better experience. I really wish I would have gotten through more of the books before it was changed but college became a priority over doing fun things.

I'll see Fantastic Beasts when it's on DVD. I think it was easier to imagine this fanciful world set somewhere where I wasn't living. The new ones being set in the US just seems a bit less magical, but again, I haven't seen it yet. I hope to be proven wrong!

Aw , yessss! I loved the potions too, and I always wanted to get further into it and explore it more but never got the chance. I'm hoping the movies are fun and shed even more light on the world without being too dumb. But it's more of a thing where I'm keeping expectations low just in case. Same with these Star Wars movies... hoping they're good but trying to prepare for the worst. XD

Yep That was my exact reaction too... just staring dumbfounded at the screen like, "WTF?" Like you said, St. Bernards can be cute, Beethoven was a cute movie and all but just... eh.

I joined because a lot of my friends were joining at the time and now they don't even go on anymore ha! I'm in college too, so don't have much time either. Finished up my first final today and have the second one next week.

I thought Fantastic Beasts was still pretty magical, but I did watch it in theaters twice! One thing the film does show a lot of is how different the wizarding world was in America compared to what we know about it in the UK. Witches and wizards in America in the 20's couldn't befriend or marry No-Majs or even speak to them unless they had to, which Newt considers strange and backwards. Some No-Majs suspected wizards existed in New York and were trying to expose them.

I think I only made it a third of the way through Chamber of Secrets on Pottermore. I really wish I would have frequented the site more when I was in college. There were many days when I planned to get on Pottermore, but got sidetracked by something else. I went in to the theater with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. I was excited for more insight into the wizarding world, but I didn't know how good the film would be. So far I think the first film was great (I saw it twice) but I'm not completely sure about the 4 future films. That's how my husband is with the new Star Wars films, he's excited for them but doesn't want to keep his expectations too high.

I don't even remember where I first heard about Pottermore, but I know I didn't have any friends playing. I joined because I'm such a huge Harry Potter nerd and I was looking for something online that would be a decent game that makes you feel like you are at Hogwarts. Now if someone made a video game where you created your own witch or wizard and went to Hogwarts, I would totally play that if it was done decently.

Just did the quiz for my Patronus on my newest Pottermore account and got a white stallion. I'll accept that one, that one feels more me than the cheetah. Just wish the site would explain what qualities a person might have for each different animal.

tried it out, but really don't wanna change my HA just yet so basically that was it. I like that it doesn't cut stuff off for me in the preview though.

real talk i did the new wardrobe stuff and all my event notifications disappeared. i'd been cherishing an event from back in april and now its gone and my heart is SHATTERED

what? the events shouldn't disappear :x I like to keep special ones too. If only there was a save event option like a 'mark as read' effect that nulls a bit of the color but doesn't dump the log.
