xD

How is the shopping going, any luck? I still haven't found much other than some gift things on a 3 for the price of 2 offer, so that one worked out all right.

Hope everyone is doing OK - I have a cold and now a cough so got hardly any sleep last night. Excuse me whilst I grump around the Tank. And try to remember the quests!

"1 SD/SDHC memory card slot (memory card not included)" that's the camera you mentioned. Most of these types of cameras don't have the memory card included... another reason they cost less.

The one you mentioned has less types of card slots so when products change over time it'll be tougher to upgrade cards and the like.

The one I recommend has the wifi transfer... which can be really handy otherwise you're always getting the cable out or taking the card out of the camera.

There are less features on the one you found... in my opinion, you'll be much happier with what I recommended (and it's not because I found it, if yours would have been similar or better I would have said so). It's better resolution so you can take a pic and crop out a small section (e.g. a face in a crowd) and it'll be easier to make bigger without too much grain.

For basics, you need the camera + memory card. I strongly recommend an extra battery to avoid situations of being on an outing and the battery dying on you when you still want to take pics. With these types of cameras, battery life tends to be less than the more expensive ones but easily fixable with a 2nd battery. I have an old fancy expensive one and I still carry a 2nd battery to avoid that scenario ;) No one wants that situation... worst is when you forget the battery on the charger & go with the camera & no battery (this is from experience).

Money is the issue right now. $100 is my limit and that is pushing it right now. I really can't afford it at all. Right now I just need something to get her through the rest of the school year.

I love a good burger :D especially with sauteed onions!

Shopping is going ok. Not really a whole lot I want to buy though :(

I hope you feel better soon Hun hugs

Onion approval, check! xD
Unrelated to burgers but I had cheese and onion quiche for tea. Very nice.

Luckily it's a later shift for work tomorrow, so at least me and the cold can have some extra sleep.

Doing well with the bonfire, I think I have nearly every item I wanted from there.

Do any Shark need any of the older items: beore I go toasting them?

Extra toasty in that case! With the amount of getting burnt that we do, I wonder if staff will up the achievement numbers for it?

My cell phone account is pay per minute and when I add $80 to my account it activates my phone for a year. I hardly ever use it so have plenty in the account. :) Yeah, good deal.

- I don't know about where you are, but here you can get unlimited voice and text and either unlimited or more than enough data SmartPhone plans for $30 per month for a single user if you want them. A family member has one. However,, you will need to buy the phone first (or add some cost to the plan to pay for it). Since you would then not need to also buy a camera, that could wind up being the best all round option for you.

Some older not smart phones have decent cameras if you just want to take pictures and aren't concerned too much about photo quality. Phones have had built in cameras for a very long time. The biggest problem with older phones is it can be hard to get the pictures off your phone unless you also have a data plan. I have a very old Motorola Razr flip phone, but no data plan (only a small number of voice minutes and 500 free texts) so I don't use it as a camera.

I found a good camera buying guide from CNET for you to look at CNET camera buying guide - don't know how good they are for cameras, but they are usually a good review source for tech.

If you decide to buy a camera - go to your browser and put in the brand name and model number (eg Kodak FZ152) then after you search that - look up at the very top of the page and choose shopping - the link for the camera you want should give you a really good idea of what the best price will be for that particular camera. Be sure to pay attention to whether or not things like a memory card are included. Also be careful to note if the camera is new or refurbished.

For what it's worth, I am not a big fan of Best Buy (although there was a time when they were my first choice for any purchase) since I no longer like their service/returns compared to other places (like amazon or even Wal-Mart or lots of others) but if they are the best price by a significant amount I would still buy from them.

If this camera is for a photography class, I would check with the teacher to make sure what minimum capability they are expecting. Otherwise, you may find that your new camera is not adequate for the class projects. They may also be strongly biased towards certain brands - or you might need certain lenses or zoom abilities. They also might be able to tell you the best choice in your price range and where to purchase - or might even have a spare that they can loan (or rent) you for the class.

A memory card lets the camera store images and then can be removed to print those images or to transfer them to a computer. Whether or not you absolutely need one will depend on whether you have some other way to get the pictures off the camera (and whether the other way is fast enough that you will be willing to use it). Really old cameras used to have to be connected directly to the computer with some sort of physical connector but newer ones might have WiFi and/or Bluetooth connections of some sort. If you plan to use the memory card to transfer pictures, make sure that your computer is able to read one of those cards - if not you will need an adaptor of some sort, or some other plan. Older computers may not have an SD card slot. Also note that some cameras might be too limited in how many pictures they can store without a memory card.

If possible, try the camera before you buy it, or make sure it's returnable just in case you find the pictures are too blurry for you, or you encounter some technical issues (like it refuses to connect with your computer - it can happen).

Good Luck! Hope you find exactly the right camera for you.

I stopped tossing stuff in there. Now I am just concentrating on giving items to Charity, I want that bunny thing lol.

Sounds like a great deal :)

Thanks for all of your help! I might have to hold off on getting a camera until after Christmas. Just feels like it is so much work instead of just shopping for a camera. Brain just wants to nap!

- hope that works! And good to hear her teachers are nice graders. There are other things to grade about a picture besides focus - especially when the camera is supposed to be doing the focusing - like color, subject matter and composition. Not to mention relevance to her assignment. :-)

I only checked out the sales on Amazon yesterday and bought 2 things. One was on sale the other wasn't, but I spent a little over $25--so free shipping. We went to more stores than we had planned to, and I was tired of walking by the time we got the the second to last store (I didn't wear comfy shoes). Some stores we walked in, looked around and walked back out because they didn't have good deals. I wanted to buy L.A. Noire for PS4, but Chris told me to wait. I wanted the Galaxy DS, but it was always sold out, so I got the New 2DS and I'm quite happy with it. I suppose if you do buy the DS, you could get a gift receipt, so that you could return it if Emily's dad does get her one.

True, they typically disappear quickly around here too, but Chris and I have just been eating small quick meals in the evenings because we are so tired after work/unpacking the house.

The other half is starting to get some feeling back, but its a prickly feeling whenever I run a finger over it or touch something. I'm hoping by this weekend or next week it will be better. It is weird though to have one half numb.

It is, and hopefully I'll be able to have friends over soon, once the house is finally set up.

Some touchscreens on the debit/credit card payment systems are still very touchy. There are some that only recognize the pen that comes with them and others that recognize fingers. The touchscreens on Red Box always give me issues because they always seem to need to be re-calibrated.

I may have to try that when I've got some free time or finally have the house in order. I think i stuck the emails in a folder on Gmail, so I should still have them.

I've tried finding a no fee reward card, but I only seem to find ones that have no fee for a certain period of time, then they have a fee. I looked into the Amazon reward card, but I think it had a fee after a certain period of time.

We seem to have removed everything that she can get into or chew or at least moved it to a higher shelf she can't get on. That was one thing we refused to do, was put Ruger outside as soon as we got her at 2 months old. When we first got her she shivered in 50 degree temperatures. Once she's older, I'll feel better about having her outside.

Got the tire issue all sorted. Now I have 4 matching 10 ply tires that should hold up better for awhile. We finished out shopping earlier in the day, got the flat at about 8:30 pm while driving home. We were only 20 minutes away from home when we got the flat and had just passed an exit off the interstate.

I'll send some your way. I've got plenty in my vault.

I'll definately try to remember to share some photos. I need to start working on a hexagon quilt or a mini one for a family Christmas in a few weekends (we bring a gift for ourselves and have to guess who brought what). If I don't get it done by then, I'll be putting Harry Potter or Wonder Women socks in my bag.

That's what I tend to do. I play different scenarios in my head or different scenarios of what could happen. It is, and Chris has said that if anyone suggests that we host next year it will be a very strong no.

We should have a nicely lit tree, with multi-colored twinkling lights and LED lights. I like the LED lights my mom gave me but they are too short for my ornaments that clip on over a light. I first saw the purple/silver tinsel when I started college, which was seven years ago. I haven't seen it since. I bought some new tinsel last year after Christmas, but I only bought one, should have bought more. I haven't put the tree up yet, I'm hoping to get it up before December 1st. I have a mini tree that my grandmother owned that I believe is from the 40's or 50's. It has glitter and baubles on it. My mom has a small fiber optic tree, but she's never put it up due to the housecat.

Yes, we've only got a few more gifts to get for family and then we are done except for gifts for each other. I think the Black Friday sales are gimmicks too, sometimes. I wouldn't doubt if the sale price is actually close to the actual price on some items. I can be a cynic too xD

I usually watch what's on TV too, like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or Frosty the Snowman. Chris and I need to get an antenna for out TV so that we can get the local channels, then I'll be able to watch the holiday shows. I also enjoy the older Christmas cartoons, they used to be Netflix and I think I have some of them on VHS, but I don't have a VHS player.

It is nice, because it makes it a bit more authentic. Probably not, but I'd be surprised if there were. I have a cassette player at my parents' house, but it in a box somewhere, along with my audio books.

I understand. I spent more than I planned to on Black Friday (and miscalculated how much I spent during the day), so now I'm trying to not spend much for the rest of the week. Hopefully bugging him about it helps and he'll get the message. 😊

Hoping to get my Christmas tree put up sometime before Friday. If Chris can't help me do it, I'll have to pick an afternoon to put it up.

- yes, that has nothing to do with her - or with her photo abilities.

Congratulations on finishing the Charitable achievement. I still need to do that (but I'm close so it shouldn't be a problem). Hope you enjoy your new rabbit.

- then I imagine the leftover deviled eggs were good to add to a quick meal or two. You both have been working really hard.

It sounds like it feels pretty strange. Hope it heals soon.

That will be nice - I'm sure you're looking forward to it.

For outdoor commercial systems like that, weather and also just volume of use have their impact as well.

Good Luck. Hope it turns out to be helpful.

I don't have much trouble finding reward cards without any fees. In fact I've never had a credit card with a fee.

Just checked the amazon reward card and it has no annual fee, so not sure what you're seeing. The only thing that appears to change is whether you earn 5% or 3% depending on whether or not you are a Prime member. Some of these cards can have high interest rates, but that isn't a problem as long as you always pay them off and aren't paying any interest.

Just FYI, being on a higher shelf doesn't always keep things away from a dog (although you would think that, unlike for cats, that would work). I once knew a puppy that somehow managed to get hold of several bags of Halloween candy from on top of a full-size microwave which was itself on top of a kitchen counter. (And no, there were no chairs or other things nearby to climb up on.) Still have no idea how that was done. Fortunately (because chocolate can be lethal to dogs) no long-term harm was done, just a very big mess and a need to buy new Halloween candy and store it elsewhere.

Once she's a little older, she'll probably enjoy being outside too.
