I love Penny Dreadful, mainly for the time period and the costumes. My husband and I have only watched the first season on Netflix and part of the second season, then we took a bit of a break from the show.

I enjoy Murdoch Mysteries because it's set in the 1890's and the lead detective uses or creates the newest technology of the time to solve cases. If he creates it, its due to something he read about and wants to try out. I love (and own a few) items from the 1800's because they look so beautiful/fancy.

My hubby and I just watched the first episode of A Series of Unfortunate Events tonight. I watched most of the first episode, but then I started losing interest (it just started to feel a little cringe-worthy). I'll watch the entire season, and hopefully it gets more interesting. I never watched the movie, but my husband has said it wasn't the greatest. I read most of the books when I was in grade school, so I won't remember enough to know if the show is acurate to the books.

It really is a better choice the whole way around!

I finished A Series of Unfortunate Events over the weekend. Neil Patrick Harris and Krunk/ Joe Swanson were in it so it was bound to be cringe-worthy xD. The movie wasn't the greatest because they glazed over 3 books plus Jim Carrey is the same character in everything. Looking back the books weren't the greatest and I've only noticed how patronizing a majority of the adult characters are (a concept overlooked as a kid). Most of my cringing was the way they sounded like a PBS kids program (doing the job of a dictionary) or the villain being anti-factual haha which is accurate to Snicket's storytelling. I read the entire series which was still coming out during middle school. The later Events I barely remember had something to do with homemade staples and lion taming.

I think they skipped trying to murder the kids at the train tracks which they did in the movie. Other HIMYM cast members show up in the series. ^^

Murdoch Mysteries sounds like something I could get into. I love whodunnits~ and time period dramas. Just not the Cumberbatch Sherlock - the reasoning and investigation paths on this show made.no.sense. I've watched Psych, Monk... also a lot of Cold Case, Criminal Minds, Law and Order in non-chronological order. I don't plan to finish these 3 because it doesn't feel fresh. I got into Midsomer Murders.

i miss interest T_T (and the stock market!!) But honestly there's a lot of easy ways to get money so it's not that big a deal.

~ interest was nice. I earn the bulk of sp through Saggi quests & my shop. I'm such a money miser when it comes to myself. I tend to spend a bunch on people during Luminaire though.

I think the Free Shop helped, I didn't read the requirement for it but buying a bunch of makeup just triggered the achievement again, weird.

I managed to get enough for all the clothes XD in the new years shop, since I am als working on my wardobe achievment.

And I am working on Mondstaub - story, TC and so on. So I mostly just forget about the snowballs

How did you unlock the Lace Skin? That's cool! Since I've been back I've had some achievements I already had before become 'unlocked'. Some with multiple numbers like quests are unlocking when I add to them so at least nothing was lost! :)

i still get that with the quests too, Those announcements are little false-reset scares. the first painted ____ pets however didn't activate until i went to their page so I almost lost a couple before labbing.

Lace skin got unlocked when buying in Subeatique. I mentioned Free Shop helped because I got clothes when people were getting potions so I didn't break 2-digits in invitations before achievement.
